The avatar update is just straight up horrible. Just looks so bad tbh :(

To answer the QOTD, I hate the new avatar changes. There was nothing wrong with what they had initially and I liked my old avatar. The new avatar looks like a low quality mesh. Niantic, if you really care about the Pokemon Go product and want it to continue succeeding, take some constructive feedback from the user input to fix what is actually wrong instead of catering to the .001% of the world population (Yes, that's exactly why they did this).
I just tried it. 7 Magical Leaf shots is enough to charge 2 Leaf Blades. This may be a game changer. Also, I caught 1-15-15 right before the event ended (around 4:59pm) 😊😊

I got a shundo, and a shiny 1-15-15 and I still have 2 hours to go to try and get a shiny UL #1.
if anybody wants to run Victreebel in UL I did some sims for you: Shadow Vic beats Feraligatr because you can 1 shot it with Leaf Blade after Magical Leaf damage, but loses to Empoleon (all matchups in 1s) because of the Steel Wing Pressure... as non Shadow you lose to Feraligatr bacuse it survives 1 move and will beat you down, but you beat Empoleon because you survive the Steel Wing pressure... so both versions are viable
That sounds like a breakpoint thing. If I had to guess you simmed the rank 1s. Victreebel gets lots of breakpoints that make its optimal IVs very tricky.

I finally got a shadow Vic at 6/14/15! Is it worth teaching it magical leaf, or is razor leaf still the most optimal fast move?

put them both in the sims on pvpoke and see what changes.

Only if it were an extra would you want magical leaf, just because it's a CD move doesn't mean it's better (ancient power mamoswine), and razor leaf is a good bit better for Victreebell's purpose.

Finally evolved and powered up this toxic dude for GL. Now need just about a year to power up Basti and finally try that toxic team... (but maybe something else will be toxic till then). I think I like that now it can reach charged moves faster.
My avatar just doesn't look like me any more. I don't know why they made the faces so rounded. I'm the most woke, lefty, diversity lover you could ever know, but I just don't see how the changes promote diversity. Just make a proper character creator. If Sims could do it 25 years ago then surely niantic can manage it now.
Nothing inorganic promotes diversity. True diversity can only be achieved when it’s completely taken out of consideration.

Probably not too good, it ranks lower than Venusaur but who knows, might play better in practice

i liked the update. the old female model had a pretty gross face (don't look too long at the lips) so everything since is a glow up. plus more hair styles, androgynous options.
Avatar update is a failure, but it isnt as bad as we all make it out to be Some people in my friendlist managed to make something nice, just hope they'll keep updating this with actual improvements (copium is real)
The new avatar system is a mess because they removed binary genders. So the base model is like an androgynous mannequin to which you can stick boobs, fat or muscles and results are obviously grotesque. But hey, they score points with the lgbtq2xyz+ crowd, just like the Niantic community manager probably hoped.
