Lol
Thanks for including the B-52. I still think the outriggers are hilarious. Miss seeing them in the air.
And their names too. If a newly wed couple flew on a B-52, it would've been their flying love shack baby
As a retired pilot I used to fly some of these big boys from 747 passenger planes to cargo planes. They are surprisingly easy to operate

I think the TU-160 is also the largest plane with variable wing geometry. Fascinating plane, no question. Some of these collossal birds look really good, but others then are quite unusual or straight WEIRD. Though i LOVE the Guppy. It´s cute. From afar.
Is the TU-160 bigger than the B-1? Would be those two for the first 2 spots, then the F-111 then the F-14 I suspect - though I think one of the Soviet fighters might have been as big as the F-14.
@@bricefleckenstein9666 Yes, according to Wikipedia, the TU-160 is larger, though i couldn't find the bomb load for the B-1, the BlackJack has 40 metric tons. I am however quite certain that the Lancer is overall the superior plane. And i'm European, so no US patriotism boasting here.
That was cool ! New technologies can change the world…Appreciate your video😊
Why? Why the hell do we need bigger planes?
@kimleone5496 to carry more passengers and cargo to 1 destination all at once. Duh!
More cargo more people more stuff faster better
@@andersoncockerm7543 its cheaper use 3 medium planes than 1 big, and also carrys even more passangers, theres a reason they are retiring 747 and almost no one uses a380
To fit more stuff 🤦♂️
Now this one was right on point👍👍👍
Out of this whole video, I'm just disappointed to not see what a Photoshoped A380 that could be 7 half-height decks for Midgets and 7 Engines on each wing! We could call it the AirBus A-Fuqet. Missed opportunity Top-Fives!

Such a damned cliché, people who watch this stuff have come to expect it
All-in-all, a great video, however, at 18:30 - It's stated that the C5 Galaxy was used to transport the [retired] Space Shuttle. The C5 was never used to transport the space shuttle; it was considered, but never used for that role. Instead, modified Boeing 747s were the only aircraft ever used for that role; two were converted for that purpose...
I KNEW IT
The San Francisco space shuttle fly over remain one of my favorite sights here in this city.
Also, the reason the C-5 couldn't transport the shuttle, is due to the shape of the tail
i swear i've literally dreamt of the 15th plane on this list. and i've never heard of it until now.
Decent video and information. At 13:39 during the B-52 segment you showed a KC-135 Stratotanker for a portion of what should have been the B-52.
Incredible.I grew up with a love for planes growing up off of Penrose Ave.Phila.Intl.Airport.I've always had admiration for those who can fly those them-
@Tk So. Philly Omg me too! Well I didn't grow up over there but WP lol...I always had a love of planes since I was 6. My dad used to take me and sister over there by the airport to watch them take off back when you could get that close. My sister wasn't really into it though lol🤷🏾♀️ Thanks to my dad I've always been into powerful, fast machines with aircrafts being my favorite 😊

Flying isn't very difficult. It's the landing part that gives trouble.
A number of years ago, may 10 years, I saw an Antonov parked at the Indianapolis airport (IND). I don't know which one and why it was there but it certainly is difficult to forget ... the thing was jaw dropping big.
do you remember how many jet engine there ware?
@@himmeverhoef8636 - Unfortunately I don't, too long ago to remember that detail. I only remember confirming it was an Antonov and I only remember that because it seemed extremely unlikely there would be one in Indianapolis, or any US airport for that matter ... and yet there it was.
Saw one, with the six engines flying over Calke Abbey, Derbyshire, 🇬🇧, in 01/02, whilst visiting with my two children. Id never seen anything like it, as it lumbered overhead. From its low height i guessed it may have taken off from East Midlands airport. Now I'm not so sure, but said aircraft - definitely ! 😉
@@johnmininger7472 Weir Cook could probably handle the AN-225, but why would it be there is a VERY good question.
@@bricefleckenstein9666 - Yeah, idk. Might be worth mentioning that I wasn't flying on a commercial airline through the main terminal. The owner of the company I worked for at the time had a side hustle, owning 3 planes housed in a separate hangar for charter flights. We often used them to fly down to our other main office in Atlanta. That hangar was next to what I believe were maintenance hangars where I saw it parked on a return flight from Atlanta. It was a same day return flight and it was not there when we had left early that morning.
First bomber I knew of as a kid when my dad was stationed at Travis Air Force Base the B36.
The thumbnail is the most cursed thing I can ever imagine.

Ahh we love our queen (747) and our king (A380) of the skies just beautiful seeing these Beasts takeoff + land
I have to agree, it’s a shame that they’re going to be phased out over the next few years. They are beautiful behemoths and I no more want them to be grounded than I did the Concorde.

That thumbnail though 😂
It was stated that the C-5 transported space shuttles for NASA. That is incorrect. Two Boeing 747s were modified to transport space shuttle orbiters.
Antonov An-225 will be missed...
As the air traffic controller said to the pilot "You have over 800 people!"
missed the times where the thumbnail always gets me lol
Surprised Convair's B-36 and XC-99 didn't make the list.
Stratolaunch at #14? OBVIOUSLY not a sorted list. Should be either #2 or #1 depending on what specific statistic you are looking at vs the AN-225.
The jet pictured in this thumbnail does not exist and was never built... and does not appear anywhere in this click bait video - thumbs down with a click of "Don't recommend this channel"

Yeah, just a shame a lot of it is used for war and ways to kill people, plus damage the earth. We could do so much good if we all wanted to instead of fighting each other, most of it is to do with religion.

hello how you doing?
Ive seen a c-5 galaxy before, it was breathtaking
Totally need to watch this at 1 am
Anazing video Dont know where will the man fly tomorrow and how far.The previous 100 yrs have been unbelievable. What is the future çant imagine. Hope the man finds heaven in the horizon soon.
Yea that triple decker airplane looks rad!! It would be awesome if instead of 6 jet it would have 4 jet engines and 2 propellers that generate power for the electronics(at the edges of the wing so it can safely be made to stop due to any failures and it won't mess up the mainframe). Also adding a fuse to the network electronics and have a centered electric system on another fuse just incase of any remote attacks would help the pilot in such incidents. The "Blackbox" always captures everything so there shouldn't be a problem.
I'm pretty sure the only aircraft to combine both prop and turbojets engines was the B-36 in it's later versions. I'm not counting turboprops of course in that statement.
the triple decker is a CLICKBAIT plane and does not exist
Awesome video!
in the local Miami Airshow, I saw the U.S C5 Herculas .... wow, my God, so huge, like ship inside ...
The C5 is the Galaxy my man, Hercules is a C130. And yes, the C5 is a sight to behold.
C5 GALAXIE is huge, for an aircraft - but I served on USS Ranger, which makes any aircraft look like a toy in size comparison - and by ship standards was big not huge, given some of the HUGE oil tankers at the time and the recent growth in size on big container ships.
It's so huge that I feel like I'm watching this on magic mushrooms

Isn't the Caspian Sea Monster/Lun Class Ekranoplan sitting on a beach somewhere near Dagestan presently?
I don't know, but more than a few of these planes look like maintenance nightmares, as well as budgetary black holes.

What a wonderful Aeroplan
I had a chance to see an Antonov and walk through it. They're massive!
One day it will be possible to build a plane so large that it will not matter if it crashes into the ocean. Because the plane will be so tall it will be impossible to sink.
@@neilmcintosh5150 Not sure you understand how physics work. Before you start trying to learn about physics, maybe lookup how deep an Ocean is. The shallowest Ocean has a mean depth of 1300 meters depth.
And up next, we have the Photoshop plane!
Which one, there have been quite a few over the years KZhead has existed - and some predating it.
13:40 Is this a test? In the middle of talking about the distinctive 8-engine B52 is this clip of what I think might be a KC-135!
Definitely a KC-something, but I'm not sure if it's a 135 or not. Doesn't look ANYTHING like a B52 anyway.

The thumbnail is an “airbus a400” 💀
For the record, it is lbs of thrust not force.
Aren't pounds technically a force? As in F = ma
Without any scale, these were mostly just cool (and sometimes unusual) planes. Length, wing span, cargo capacity...numbers don't mean anything to visual evaluations. Was your list ranked? If so, by what criteria? This was a decent video, but it should have been a lot better. [You also might want someone to proofread your script.]
If a triple decked airplane would be made it would be more like the AN225 with the engines and wings on the top of the plane it would also be a 6 engine plane.
The thumbnail tho 😂
4:26 I’m sorry but the fastest commercial jet is the Concorde. But the Concorde is actually not in use anymore due to a accident in Russia, leading all the Concordes to be decommissioned or put in a museum. but if Boeing means fastest jet still operating then they are correct. I don’t mean to be rude or smart I’m just saying it’s not the fastest jet.
The thumbnail of the a380 with 3 floors srtikes again If it has 3 floors then it's a390
3:13 there were concepts for Boeing 747s that were aircraft carriers, cruise missile launchers, and wait for it... NUCLEAR ICBM LAUNCHERS! How much cooler could these Boeing 747 get?
747 is my fav i just love it
Mine too. I live in Western Australia & used to love watching them fly in and out. Sadly not any more. I really miss them.

Any idea on the theoretical maximum size that an airplane can be?
One Billion!
It’s time these plane companies should design and built planes that’s come from Star Wars or Star Trek designs..those futuristic designs are awesome….
Yeah they look cool. Not sure if they're really practical though. Imagine the force required to lift a Star Destroyer into otbit and what that much thrust would do to the surface you're lifting up from...
