Today we have for a review two BRP quads. One of them - is a standard 1000 cc XMR. But another…all new BRP outlander that we converted into full electric drive! And I am straining at the leash now to show you this epic machine! We look at it in detail, to find out how it is built. Moreover we’ll compare electric quad with a regular gas XMR 1000 cc. I think it will be an exciting battle, so get comfortable my friends we are to start right now!

  • Would like to see more testing on range and different tire sizes but so far I’m sold on the electric conversion. 👍

    • They avoided the run time question but kept dancing around the elephant in the room. What is the point to an Atv if you have to stay close to civilization and have time to kill for it to charge. I can’t afford 2 atv’s so there is no way electric is even on my radar.

  • I wish I could give this more than one thumbs up. This is the future. Electric is more power simpler less things to break reliable ect ect ect. I would take electric over gas in ALOT of situations.

  • Looks really good! also that is the only XMR in the world with stock exhaust, usually they're outrageously loud and annoying, the Electric is a no brainer other then terms of range. No radiator to get clogged with mud, likely potential for a much lower center of gravity as well for off-camber performance. No air intake to get dust\dirt\mud into, I've worked on a lot of ATV's and they're generally poorly designed, the motors are a compromise to fit in tight chassis, I really like the electric!

    @Kingsoupturbo@Kingsoupturbo3 жыл бұрын
    • they made 4 wheelers without radiators for a long time, for example, the honda trx200. plus you're also dealing with water too, so there's just as many flaws as a gasser.

  • Great step toward progress. Electric ATVs should be the future, and should be now. I am imagining an ATVs park that is quieter day and night. Would also be great to ride through creeks without worrying about environmental contamination. I wish this technology God speed, and will be amongst the first to buy these wonderful machines! ✌️

    • i'm not sold, and i do actually deal with 4 wheelers. the only thing it would be good for is farm work. since you're not going too far from where you need to charge it. but i will offer a compromise, gas/electric. basically a generator that drives an electric motor which drives the wheels.

Mostly pulling a trailer moving firewood, rocks etc around my property. I hate having it idle while loading or unloading the trailer, cutting wood etc. Electric would be perfect

Probably, an associeted traditiona motor + elevric one can be moore interesting if the wight will be +50/60/70 kgs higers as the gasoline version.🤙

    • @@imagineeternity443 It's not because he doesn't have a clue about what he is talking about. Na+ and LTO batteries are great until -20 degrees, LTO are actually performing well until -40 degrees, but they are charging slower if it's -20 or below. (Celsius) Also even if he would have LiPo, just make a little heat bed for the battery, doesn't need a lot of power and it is really cheap, while running the battery is warming up on itself. I drove snowmobiles in the north of Sweden and the ICE snowmobiles sucked hard. Harder to get out of a hole, breaking down all the time and so on. Electric snowmobiles were always fun. ALWAYS. Not even a single one broke down while I was working there. Even though they had more electric ones. And you can actually here your customers scream if they have a problem or you have a very pleasing time while casually driving nearby animals and dogsleds, and of course you can have a lot fun. By the way, in Sweden any combustion car has a heat bed and they are continuously on the charger, otherwise they wouldn't be able to start and break down even more.

  • Looks great. It's pretty obvious as to the benefits of electric and I can definately see someone using this on an acreage or farm where they have access to a power source to charge them. The video is missing the charge time and range though. I think most people use a can-am 1000r for recreation, not work. IMHO gas quads will become obsolete when people know they can use electric quads all day and can charge them when they are away from home. I take my quad camping for 3-4 sometimes 5 days at a time. It's easy to do a full day riding on a tank or two of gas. I can pack extra gas. But how can I charge up the electric quad with the services available to me in the forest? OR can I change the batteries when they are low so I can keep riding?

    @wesleyedwards172@wesleyedwards1722 жыл бұрын
    • plus if the battery is at low charge and it gets cold, you break the battery. then you can't charge it anymore.

I have 35 kWh of nmc lithium battery already. More than I need I know. I will have to make some KZhead videos to show this thing off. Of course I’m going to recharge with with solar energy. • Unfortunately, I have not started the project yet. It is definitely going to happen within the next year. I already have the permanent magnet, DC motor and I am pretty sure that I’m going to use 1000 amp 4 quadrant bidirectional regenerative drive to connect the batteries to the motor. That has the ability to give it Double Volts for short durations. Like turbo boost. I will definitely be posting about this as I do it . Thanks for the interest.

      @ShaqTheBoss@ShaqTheBoss2 жыл бұрын
    • @@ShaqTheBoss electric quads are interesting but bringing along an entire generator with its own fuel just to spend hours waiting for your quad to charge while the generator spills out noise pollution seems pretty counterintuitive to the point of buying an electric quad. You’d be better off bringing along a battery bank with its own solar panels. Though that still wouldn’t be able to keep up with the range someone would get with a couple strap on gas tanks and certainly not as fast to get back on the road again. Power density remains the biggest hindrance for current electric.
