She's originally from Thailand so Thai is her first/native language, English is Lisa's 2nd language due to her studying a little during her time at school in Thailand. She moved to Korea to become a Kpop trainee and there she learned Korean over the years. I believe Lisa knows 5 languages (Thai, Korean, English, japanese and a little Chinese). She probably got in advanced in Chinese by now I'm assuming but yes she can speak it alittle bit. Also the company that blackpink is under "YG Entertainment" decided to let them all do solo projects one by one. So far Jennie, rosé and Lisa got to do one which only leaves Jisoo. I do think it's a good move for YG to allow them to do that since it would help reach different audiences. As I've said before in previous comments I love you guys and your reaction videos. It's not the the basic generic ones that I'm used to and you guys always approach things from a intelligence standpoint which I love and respect. ♥️♥️

there is so much the west could learn from south korea one is the open auditions regularly in various places you find hidden talent, the training system is harsh but it you really develop that talent and give them the tools and techniques needed to survive in the entertainment industry and lastly with the solo projects you give individual members a chance to shine while enhancing the overall group.
Not ALL kpop company that give every single member or even to one member to do solo though. Sometimes, if their artist are that good they let them, but if not. Yeah group songs only

Lisa has Lalisa and Money, Rose has On the Ground and Gone, and Jennie has Solo from 2018. It's a very normal thing for kpop artists apart of groups to pursue solo endeavors while still being active in a group. Here in the US we are so used to groups breaking up when members decide to do solo work. Lisa is from Thailand so her first language is actually Thai. When she joined YG she didn't know any Korean. BTS also have solo songs that are on BTS albums and solo songs/mixtapes separate from BTS and they actually get to perform those solo songs when they tour. It really allows each member to express themselves individually and showcase their individual talents.
Also blackpink has a contact under yg so when it’s over they can either renew it or leave the company
they're still a group they just have solo moments!

If you knew her story facing with Korean conservatism fans, you will be a lot more appreciated and more emotional with her Thai scene appearing in this MV. Even she knows the effecting, but she still proud and stand to represent her races, her nation (ancient stone palace is in Buriram province, her birthplace), and her blood. This is why Thai people were so surprising with that scene. It’s feel like she is bringing herself with a bomb in her hand standing in the middle of the enemies’ army. I didn’t saying Conservative Korean ppl are not good. I think all of us need a nation conservative as a basis thing to push our nation forward, and I want Thai ppl to do so, this is a good thing to learn from them. And I think Lisa respect that also… What Lisa did was like, the more she faces with racism, the more she wants to prove herself to public, that because she still trust in Korean ppl that has high quality enough to step over racism and shifting into the new Korean era, the era of respecting, the era of opening, the era of acceptance. Looking at one another at their ability in actual. She just little girl persuaded her dream by trying hard, by her talents. And most important, she “respect in being herself”, this is super important. To Korean people, as I am Thai consuming some Korean entertainment businesses, I just think that this is a time to reconsider. She said that second verse with the fast English rap was very difficult but she powered through and was able to do it. She’s an amazing dancer because when she first went to Korea and was a trainee she only spoke Thai so she wasn’t great at understanding most things but dancing is where she could shine
Oh and also, Lisa is actually the lead (or 2nd) rapper of Blackpink, the main one being Jennie. But since Jennie is also a lead vocalist, she doesnt rap as much as Lisa. Jisoo doesnt have a rapper position but she can rap very well and did rap in some of blackpink's songs.

One thing about the KPOP FORMULA, that works is that although majority of the groups do their releases together, they are each allowed to do individual debuts. So tbh, it’s a lot more sustainable and realistic then American groups. They’ve been at this for almost 10 years, they ain’t breaking up now.

Blackpink was the very first kpop group I got into in 2020. But from what I’ve noticed, a lot of kpop groups will have solo projects or even form like a sub unit group. Or non music solo projects like acting or fashion. I think it’s a great way for them to express their individuality while also showing why the group sound and artistry works so well. And yes Jennie (the other rapper) was the first blackpink member to have a solo. (2018). Well, there are 4 members not 5. They have all committed to doing solos (endorsed by their label), 3 have released solos already. During their concerts they perform one song independently and they are very supportive of each other. I believe the competition you suggest would tear the group apart.
