Inside NBA Star JJ Redick's Brooklyn Warehouse Apartment | Open Door | Architectural Digest

4 578 493 Рет қаралды

Today we visit the DUMBO neighborhood of Brooklyn to tour NBA star JJ Redick’s custom renovated apartment. Built within a former industrial warehouse in the shadow of the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, JJ has a bright, inviting home with creative and imaginative flourishes in every room. From the Lacanche range and oven in the kitchen, to the Louis Vuitton-inspired wallpaper of the powder room, each design choice tells a story about the Redick family and the journey they took to their New York home.

  • Didn't expect JJ Redick to be a man of culture, kudos

    @stonem9555@stonem95554 жыл бұрын
    • how is this being a man of culture? he seemed annoying the way he spoke about the little art-pieces that they do own. and owning art, flaunting their exclusivities isn't really being a man of culture. if he talked about the pieces' individual significance, how they were made and what that could mean, how it found it's place within the contemporary art and why it means anything to him - then you could say, he's a man of culture. but I didn't really get that idea from this video. "it's sick shit, it really is sick shit" like dude... he sounds dumb, sorry xD not saying he is, I mean he obviously isn't dumb!! - but in that specific area, he seems shallow. seeing as he often mentions his wife's adornment for the paintings, I would believe that she is the more cultured one in the house.

    • He went to Duke I believe. He probably didn’t just go on a sports scholarship. He’s an espn analyst now so being articulate comes in handy now. And yes he seems to know quite a bit about the architecture and design. I honestly think he was being nice and letting his wife decorate the way she wanted. And while I do like elements of what he did, I like her style too. I feel like the kitchen is a collab of both of their styles. I also like how they both have their own style, would’ve loved to see more meshing of the two. But yes he was very involved in the process but I think his wife didn’t let him take over the aesthetic and he was kind enough to let her do her thing. He’s too knowledgeable to just have sat back and let her do everything than down a tour on KZhead like some people say, he was definitely involved in a lot of it.

    • @@cloudridermrbliss7085 seriously. and it's all based on what jj said, as if he's not aware of how the things he says are perceived and thus exaggerates or neglects to mention certain aspects of his life. we all choose what parts of ourselves we show to others. he chose not to mention the retractable tv (which is actually an interesting design feature), maybe because he likes the idea of people not knowing he had a tv. conversely, he chose to open the hidden panel in his vestibule in order to show everyone his "zalto" wine glasses. i mean... this fact that this whole video is largely a "come to my house so i can subtly flex my nice taste" would make those types of behaviours more likely among the people who volunteer or accept the proposition than among those who choose not to participate in such opportunities
