  • That confusedness at the end is a crazy but true phenomenon. Even when I occasionally play paintball or airsoft with buddy’s I’ll get a bit of it, but nothing compares to real life danger. I’ve never been in a shooting, but I have been in a situation where a drunk guy at a New Year’s Eve party threatened my life with a gun when I was 15. The memory becomes so fuzzy when you calm down. I definitely remember a few things very vividly, but a lot is unclear. I do know one thing for sure though, that was the fastest 40 meter sprint of my life, and I kind of wish it was recorded.

    • @@grqfes lol, yeah but back before I got hurt every time I turned around some civilian was telling me all about what I/we should have done instead, how they could/would have handled it, and how much better it would have been done. SMH, LOL!! Folks see Hollywood movies and TV where every single detail is planned and rehearsed over and over again before they even start to use fake pyrotechnics which are planted exactly where they want them to simulate bullet etc. and they do all this dozens of times with weeks, months, sometimes years of planning for some of these stunt routines. Why? So that everything is perfect before they do it for real for fear of losing money by wasting and reshooting it and to be 100% certain no one gets hurt at all. That’s as bad as it gets for them loss of money maybe a sprained ankle or knee of a stunt man because no way are they risking a star if they thing their is any real chance even something minor will happen. People see them and think wow yeah that’s so easy I could do that if I had to, smh. In the real world when bullets make that angry hornet sound next to your head and except for your fellow team guys everyone and everything else is moving randomly at every second, the bad guy has all the advantages and gets to decide when and how he or they want to do things and you have to adjust constantly to it all while being the guy who is responsible for every life out there, well it gets a little bit more interesting!! So we train and train and train because that is about all you can do to help even up the odds, and all of it is hard, every day takes a toll, and if today wasn’t hard you did it wrong!!! You are always pushing to get that little bit better, smarter, stronger, tougher, faster, more accurate, it’s like being on a grinding wheel it just keeps wearing you down. Hell it’s not even a case of if you get hurt, it’s a case of when you get hurt and how bad. But I still miss it and wouldn’t trade it for anything despite being left crippled!

  • I was a patrol officer for a security department at an inner city school district (never swat or anything like it) we used to do a lot of training in the summer time and building clearing in a low light environment was a big one (we had about 10 or so boarded up buildings most of them being old schools the district could no longer operate due to a drop in the number of students attending) The way I was taught is you always want to let the door breath immediately after opening it, otherwise you could have someone waiting for you to pop through the door way to take you out. I left that line of work 6 months ago, although I do miss it at times especially the sense of brotherhood. Not to often in normal people’s lives that you have to be willing to trust others with your life as well as being willing to put yours on the line for them. I miss that bond and being able to help others in their darkest hour more than anything.

  • That 3 rounds in one while was very impressive as a firearms enthusiast, that rifle was also set up very very well. The balance on it looked good with the mawl/surefire/suppressor up front and the Aimpoint T2 on that unity riser.
