If the cause is something like crap in the bead seat or a crack in the rim or seat then the tyre is simply going to fail again. All good with speed demo and no worries with the guys skills, but the final part of the process is checking that there are no leaks, not too sure how that's going to be achieved with the wheel still on the vehicle.

    • Yes, standard practice now with super-singles or outer duals. The absolute last thing you want to do is release the wheel studs, fight the wheel off the hub spigot and unseat the wheel mounting face. Then, after refitting, hope the wheel nuts don't come loose before someone thinks to re-torque them. ISO wheel mountings are best left undisturbed.

I actually realize you’re just testing your speed here instead of like most negative comments whereby they think you work like this all the time. Excellent time. Charge up that bead blaster beforehand and it would have not slowed you unnecessarily. Top lad.

  • This is the way I would do an outside dual or a steer tire since the early 80s. Over the years driving and getting dozens upon dozens of tires fixed on the road, I saw it done like this for the FIRST time at a Bauer Built shop in Sioux City, Iowa just a few weeks ago. The young fella must have seen this video!
