Wildlife is raging in the Chernobyl zone. Among animals, it is easiest to see and watch Przewalski's horses. They are not as timid as moose, deer, roe deer, rabbits and carnivorous animals. In the video, we managed to film a herd of horses that agreed to communicate with us. But in the distance!
When you are in the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone, remember that wildlife behavior is unpredictable! Do not neglect personal radiation protection !!!

There are certainly people who would like to live there, but the legal status is a little messed up. I believe the 1991 ukranian law technically forbids residing in the exclusion zone de jure, but the supreme court refused to enforce it on the grounds that it would violate the constitution, so the locals who were evacuated but wished to return to their homes can live there without problems. But sadly it would be unlikely for foreigners to have the right to live there without obtaining citizenship (but then again, in Ukraine you're very unlikely to be bothered by the police or guards in that area even if you stay there alone). There are still a lot of good desolated places in this country, maybe not as wild, but still quiet and clean.
