It has been said that Hathor and the symbolism of her as the divine Goddess is suggestive of a Heavenly Mother, something so sacred that she has been omitted from her rightful place in the trinity until we are ready to embrace the divine feminine once again. If this is true we can understand the myth surrounding her as a parable of a higher order, one that is understood better when the world recognizes the feminine as the source of ALL creation, which ALL is creation. This is no surprise as it mirrors the creative abilities of the feminine on earth. A powerful thought and I hope to accept it as it unfolds in our consciousness.

In 1:16 you are mentioning the familiarity ascribed to her, amongst several, also being a "Sun-Goddess". ----------- Hathor is especially connected to the vaulting Milky Way (on the southern hemisphere) which is natural, as the Milky Way contours here can be imagined and depicted as a woman in the night Sky. --------- If holding onto Hathor being a Sun-Goddess, the Milky Way connection to Hathor interpreted to be a daughter of Ra, the Sun, it falsify this interpretation. ----------- The Sun, Ra, cannot logically be a father and maker of the entire Milky Way, so Hathor’s father relationship must be revised. In the Egyptian creation stories, the elements in Nun comes together via the creation force by Atum, and result in a “fiery entity of Light”, mythologically called Atum-Ra. --------- As our ancestors specifically knew of the Milky Way creation at the largest, this central Atum-Ra Galactic Light is the logical connection to Hathor, as the Milky Way creation takes place in this Atum-Ra center, and forms the spiraling arms in the galaxy, on the southern hemisphere forming the above-mentioned Milky Way woman like figure in the night Sky. -------- My conclusion: Hathor isn´t a “Sun-Goddess” but a Milky Way Mother Goddess directly connected to Atum-Ra, the central galactic light of creation. -------- I have more elaborations on this mytho-cosmological subject if you like. i think as the sun is a star, and the milky way is a multitude of stars there is a plausible and permissible corelation here. unless in the yin aspect of goddess nature we are purely ascribing the milky way to the tapestry of night that envolopes the millions suns it contains.
