This was a terrible idea, again. Mixing together 4 leftover gallons and quarts, that were not labeled, could have gone horrifically wrong. However, sometimes the reward is worth the risk. This came out pretty darn cool.

*Almost backed out when we opened that last quart! What do you think?*
Holy crap that came out waaay better than I thought going in... 5/5 guys... outstanding!
Glad you didn't back out, it turned out to be pretty nice!
5 all the way. Too bad you wouldn't be able to recreate that.
I love it, 5/5 color. I'd call it Midnight Storm since that's what it reminds me of.
Holy hell! That is sick! 5 all the way, and now I want it!
Love the way this turned out!! In the future, would love to see the experiments sprayed on white, gray and black samples before it goes on the car. I feel like this one would've really popped on a ghost gray.
I've been saying this for years... just spray some black, white and gray speed shapes!!
Especially if it's not something they could make future content on. These random unknown cans cannot truly be replicated. Would have been nice to see what it would have looked like on different bases.
I bet that'd been really sick on a grey
Agreed. Actually maybe even one step further, separate the car into thirds. 1/3 white, 1/3 gray, 1/3 black bases!
Agreed. I would love to see these on various bases.
You should call this series "lucky dip". Definitely got lucky with this one, it's beautiful.
Dankpods fan eh?
i actually love the way the candy toned down the hyper shifts and made them more subtle and stealthy. Its gorgeous without being flashy, pure class
I think this might honestly be my favorite hypershift ever...really. My heart aches that it will never be duplicated.
This color is definitely 🧼 clean
But also kinda cool that it is so unique.
What I really like about DYC doing this experiment is that we are simultaneously witnessing a never-before-seen paint, and a never CAN be seen again paint. True Unicorn products.
I wish there was a recipe for this color. Blind mixes are a blast and this one is absolutely dope. I just wish there was a way to replicate them.
Over here we got guys who specialize in attaining that they will find that mix n it will be like 95% close...
I mean... a good chunk of these are HyperShifts, so it'd be pricy if you did.
Omg!!! 4.99 out of5! I appreciate the mixtures but to much purple! Yes i understand that 2 of the 3 are unkown! But i would "almost" rock this on my ride! Switch it up with a heather grey base or just a flat grey primer. I would like to see this on a pickup if you have access to one. ( no ford unlessit is mid 90's or later!)
This color would look good on any car
Luv it. Would luv to have this color on my car.
I think this opens the door for a brand new category of dips with "High Sugar Content" where they're very candy dominant. This could open up completely new colors and effects! Give us more!
Getting strong Mystichrome vibes from this one! Definitely darker, but I can see the resemblance. Honestly, surprisingly, I think the blue candy actually saved this project from just being a bland, muddy mess! Obviously, I'm sure there's easier ways to achieve this same result, but it still turned out great. Hard 5/5, DEFINITELY cheated disaster with this one!
soft midnight purple vibes than MC
@@danielm94437 Yeah those were my immediate thoughts as well. Though the colour shift is a bit more extreme than with midnight purple so under steep viewing angles the purple disappears sooner than with original midnight purple. But I guess that's why you said "soft", so you're spot on I think To this day midnight purple is in my top 3 colours of all time, easily. It was so daring and original for a factory colour. I would get it on my car if it wasn't such an iconic colour meant for one specific car lineage, so I'd feel like I was desecrating it by using it on anything else. Got myself another stunning factory OEM colour though, so I'm happy
its literally mystichrome i love it
@@Jblesseditagreed
Next time you do one of these you should two tone the car. Like half black base half white base so we can see how a base coat can wildy change the look of the car. That would be stellar
For an experiment that's a great idea !
It's a great idea but a candy over a white base will be a disaster especially without a full load of candy. You are asking for patchiness and other issues.
@Itsgabe_ isn't that half the fun? Also what If yall don't get candy? Regardless figured it would be interesting to see
@@Minutemanmadness without candy it can work to an extent.
@Itsgabe_ send it on the next one for science sake. I've always been curious to see how a base coat effects certain dip choices
I love these videos, for the most part, because it's truly a mystery. However, the thing about these videos I hate is when I fall in love with the color and realize the odds of replicating it 100% is low
i was so excited for this color. then reality sunk in and realized the same thing
Was thinking the same...
Absolutely...
I really want to see what it would have looked like with the first two buckets. It was like a creamy grey purple but it looked so silky. I think it would have turned out awesome over a nardo paint
At that rate, when the candy came to the plate, I think half should have been sprayed with and half without, but I didn't make the rules.
What I love about this project is that it looks like it could have been a factory color option, it’s so subtle and clean looking. Beautiful Paint job!
It's like a peacock tail. I see blue, a bit of green turning to teal and purple. I think i even see a slight hint of pink when the purple starts to fade to another color. Beautiful colors 🥰
This makes such a nice "Illusion shift" the way it tricks one into questioning if they actually saw the shift. I really like the way this turned out.
I loved your last one using left-overs, and you've managed to repeat the success. Nice shift of blues, purples, and greens. 5/5
I really love these multi mix trials. This is how you find unique colors with awesome end results. Keep playing with the colors. This is a 5/5 for me. I'd offer up my truck for any trials you want to do lol.
5/5 - That was a really cool color shift. Great content as always, guys.
I love these Frankenstein projects you do. It's always a pleasant surprise.
Have you seen the one where he uses kool-aid? That's one of my favorite out the box ones.
I would rate this a 5. I love blues and purple and this one with a hint of green really set all the colors off.
These mystery color videos make me want to be able to buy mystery paint kits from you guys, I feel like those could be really fun.
Omg I love how it turned out! This is what I was expecting from that one video where you added all the black betty you had on hand to the purple pearl! This is like a midnight violet blue! Absolutely love it! 5/5!!!
This is my favourite so far, anything dark and sultry with a bit of playfulness in it. Absolutely Gorgeous.
It reminds me heavily of ford’s mystic chrome they did on the late 90s and early 2000s cobra but slightly darker and deeper in tone. It turned out surprisingly nice!
Def Mystichrome Cobra from 2003 vibes
The subtleness is my favorite part. I really like it.
This is exactly why I love this channel!!! The willingness to try things... the genius in the insanity of experimentation... all in the name of fun! The final product is a 5,and the video is a ten!! Great reminder to us, don't throw away your left overs. You never know what madness you can create!!! Love this channel, and I love DYC!!!!!
The prep for each show must be immense. I love the Frankenstein color mixes. Always a neat surprise!
Wow! Stunning! When you were blending it all it looked like blue satin fabric spinning in the glass. Beautiful!
This is really nice. The candy toned it down into a darker shift thats not in your face bright. The dark blue, purples and hints of green are beautiful
5/5 for sure. I love the deep blue/purple to a subtle green. This might be my favorite one yet 🔥
Wow, I really love that color. This one turned out great. This actually looks more like the galaxy color you were going for in a previous video, just add some holographic or sparkles to the color.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm seeing purple, green, & something I can only describe as midnight slate blue, it's so dark & sexy. Subtle yet noticeable color shifting. Truly understated, Loving everything about this!! 💖 (edit for typo)
A way more subtle version of that mystery mustang color, love it. Nothing can seem to over power the purple-to-green shift.
Yooo I was *not* expecting it to turn out like this after you popped that candy. I'm not a fan of blues but this is so deep and subtle, I wanna call it midnight noir or something. It's just gorgeous, solid 5/5
I give this a 5 for sure, it's beautiful and I love how subdued the shifts are, as well as the purple/blue/green vibe going on. It'd be wonderful if it could be more easily replicated.
5. Love the color shifting. Looks more purple than switches to blue, absolutely love it.
Luv it, each angle catches the eye with a subtle shift.
I like it! Surprisingly classy - this is something one could have on a car that want to be sophisticated with a hint of crazy
Just for fun I paint fishing lures with an airbrush. That is the total depth of my painting knowledge, so I am totally awed by what you do in your videos and by the various pigments you use. You sure have piqued my interest in learning something new.
To be honest you could easily apply this to what you already do. A lot of what they’re doing is simply pigments added to some form of clear. Source some pigments and put them in your airbrushing paint bro. 🫡
@@Genesis385 Thank you for your input. I plan to do that. I have had some great success with lures but have been reluctant to upping my game to bigger and better things. I may buy a motorcycle tank or something like that to play with.
@340wbymag check out my artwork of the purple stone if you want as i use the same technique with colour shift micas thru an airbrush. It would be awesome on fishing lures!
I like how it’s now crazy, it’s got a good consistency in the blue, green with a hint of purple.
5/5 - beautiful result midnight shift with blue, purple and green. I love that one
Just starting the video, so I don't know the result, but I already know this video is a 5/5. Anytime you're not sure how it's going to go, it's great entertainment.
This is my favorite color to date! Stealthy with just a touch of color. Is there a way to replicate this without buying all those different colors?
That would mean to take samples from 2-3 main colors that are most active and creating a chameleon paint that is either added on white or black base. I bet there are chameleon paints already that looks almost the same.
I mean the beauty to this is that you can say hey, this is a one of a kind color blend. I like this one better than the last one.
Damn, I got so stressed with that blue tho, I was gonna cry when I saw how dark it got, although it turned out better than I anticipated. This wouldn't be my first choice, but I love the subtlety it gives, so it definitely jumped from a 1/5 during the mixing process to a solid 4/5. Definitely cheated death with this one 😅😂
The artists are always their own worst critics. This looks SMASHING!
turned out so nice. Eyecatching but subtle enough to keep it classy
This is probably my favorite dip color of all time. Sad thing is it was basically an accident and there’s no way to actually ever duplicate it.
For a blind mix, not too shabby.... I'd give it a 4 or so. Definitely a muted look. I dig it!
I absolutely love this, and if you can figure out all the components to make this, I might choose this over the pluto midnight flip I've been begging for a full scale of for well over a year.
A guy painted his car in a similar color when I was in HS, late 90s. Manual transmission. Honda civic hatchback. Loud muffler. Loud sound system. Dancehall reggae music bumping. Brings back memories. Good job.
Love the frosty blue edges !! Can’t wait for next video my daughter and I live watching these together and see what surprise you bring us 👍🏽👍🏽thanks for the amazing videos
I'm glad you did not backed out. IT LOOKS INCREDIBLE!!!!
6:10 A face forms that gives a cheeky grin at the point you say 'and not take over the whole thing'
I love the way that this turned out. So happy I found yall's channel.
These are my favorite videos of yours, you guys clearly love doing this.
Love flow of the color shift, it's almost hipnotic great job.
This as the base for that holographic coat. That would look awesome! I really liked the understated subtlety of this one.
Ooh that's pretty! I'm glad it still looks purple even with all the blue. It's like a purple version of midnight blue!
Love this video concept. Great watch!
5/5 That colour is dope! Always been a fan of the darker more subtle colour shifts.
I had this kind of colour on one car many many years ago, loved it.
I love it !! gorgeous and incredible mix !!
That color is a 10. Absolutely love how it turned out.
Looks great, thanks for sticking to the video and pushing with the candy blue! keeps it entertaining and wanting me to see the end result!
One of my favorites! So subtle, so dynamic, so cool. Especially on this Mitsubishi, it looks straight from a video game 🥹🤞
It looked magical when it was being mixed, love the darker shifting color, 5 all day long
It's stunning! My favorite dip of all.
That colour is wild. Amazing. When that blue went in I saw that sort of colour coming out and I was hoping - fantastic.
This came out really nice! I'll give it a 5. It's nice and rich, with a clear shift and a subtle pearl. I love it!
This is colbalt blue!! It is my ABSOLUTE favorite color blue!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. LOVE it!!!! 💕💕💕
Solid 5! Would love to see it over a White base!
This has a after midnight early morning type of color going on. Love it, definitely a 5/5 for me.
The blue changed the whole tone but the pearls tokk it to another level... I hope you are writting down the formulas for clients who actually would pay for a job like that... it's actually pretty cool
When you were pouring into the cup I noticed how transparent this mix was. Kinda reminds me of color that's on a Subaru. Only with so much more depth.
I think it came out really good. The sad thing is you can NEVER recreate it!
Oh wow!!! This is stunning! ❤️
Wasn't expecting that once again! Looks killer 💜🔥🔥🔥👀 big ups DYC 👊🏻
5/5 i was really thinking the blue would have taken over the shifts.. amazing paint job!
Did not expect that much shift after the blue. Pleasantly surprised
Very nice! Calling full 5. I love the color and the highlights. Great job and fun to see.
Well thats a lot more gorgeous than I expected! Slick!!!
5/5.....hardest thing now is to make it a kit....cause i know a lot of peeps would want this on they're car!!...great episode....thanks for sharing DYC team and keep it up!
I love all the colors mixed together, it looks really good.
Such an elegant result!
I didn’t know what to expect looking at the liquid form. Wow! Came out nice!!!
This looks great. It’s kind of “normal” while also being wild. Definitely 5/5!
This came out way better than expected. Love it.
That turned out perfect and that color really looks good on that car. Definitely a 10/10
Gorgeous colour, love the hints of green that come through coupled with the dark almost pen ink like blue/purple
wow love the colour and love the more subtle effect very stealth like with a flare
Great result and especially on a cloudy day it looks good! Thank you for the risk
I could swear that i see a dark green hue just before it flips to black. Beautiful paint job! 😀👍
Love the Blue, green & purple affects to this one & definitely 5 for me
It looked soo blue in the mixing container the end result is super slick
My favorite type of content from yall
Was actually surprised how much the candy blue-toned out.. really enjoyed the blueberry blackberry color and the greens that showed through in the hypershift was great!!!
I love the subtle aspects on this
Love these mysterious outcome vids, you gotta do it more often
Another absolute knockout. What a beauty! 🥰
That is sick af. Good luck recreating it when everyone wants their car this color. Turned out gorgeous
