KANYE WEST Superfan Reacts to Taylor Swift For the First Time (Folklore Full Album Reaction)

I have literally never listened to a Taylor Swift album before in my life. I know only like 3 songs by her and don't really get the hype. I finally decided to give her music a shot as a Kanye West fan and was definitely surprised.

    • Nobody is denying Kanye's skills as an artist. He uses Taylors name for more attention on his music because Taylors fans will listen if her name is mentioned in a song. He just does it for the wrong reasons. Drake says her name in a positive way. Kanye says shes a bitch and claims he made her famous.

    • Most of her audience outside the US is almost split around 50-50 or 40-60 men, so that's a common misconception that Americans have about Taylor Swift. If you go to any Taylor show in Germany, or even parts of Asia for example, you'll see a lot of men (yes, also a lot of straight men) who are geniuine fans.

    @Azarath_Metrion_Zinthos@Azarath_Metrion_ZinthosАй бұрын
    • Taylor's Reputation Era is mostly about her falling in love with Joe when she had a bad Reputation because of Kayne and Kim editing and lying on an illegally recorded phone call. Only a couple of songs are about Kayne.

    • Everyone says Reputation is a revenge album, but its not it's an album about love. There are 2 songs about Kanye. Taylor forgave him in 2009, wrote the song Innocent for him. Kanye reignited the "feud" with that phone call and stabbed her in the back.

  • Kanye is the one who started by doing what he did at the vma, she then FORGAVE him and even wrote a song about him called Innocent just for him to screw her over again with his song. It’s been a one sided beef since the beginning. Anyway folklore is a masterpiece, aoty for a reason.

  • My tears ricochet isn’t really for teenage girls, it is about Taylor’s masters that were sold behind her back and purchased by Scooter Braun. Reputation is usually most liked by Kanye fans, but it is pop. Evermore is folkore’s sister album, a bit more diverse than folklore but maybe her best storytelling album. Midnights is a nice, diverse, album but the 3am bonus tracks, late night editions, target editions, and til dawn editions are a must. The real ending to folklore is The Lakes, its fire. 1989 Taylors Version is really considered a pop bible. Her first real pop album it is just banger after banger.

  • So many people write Taylor's songwriting off because of her catchy radio hits (and even those are still well-written, but i understand why people don't like them as much), but a lot of her absolute best work is on her deep cuts. She is a true poet, and nobody will ever convince me otherwise. A masterful storyteller.

  • Betty sounding like "I'm 16 and I'm deep" I think is the intent haha. If you compare it with Cardigan's lyrics, you'll see that Betty was much more mature than him ("When you are young they assume you know nothing, but I knew..."). And even throughout the song you can see deeper metaphores she uses, but in Betty we see that he is pretty simple and immature "I'm only 17, I don't know anything".

  • Folklore love triangle lesson: Betty, James, and Augustine are the 3 teens involved. Betty and james were dating, but james and Augustine had a summer fling (which was more of a summer love for Augustine). ‘Cardigan’ is in the point of view of Betty, reflecting back on the relationship years later. ‘August’ is in the point of view of Augustine after her and james’s summer together. ‘Betty’ is in the point of view of james, following their return to school after his summer with Augustine, and is his apology to Betty. Listening to the songs with that dynamic in mind so fun bc there are so many connections between all of them. Would recommend.

    • One of those you said sounded like a teenager in the Colorado suburbs. It was about three high school teenagers. Last Great American Dynasty is about a former oil barron and his wife. She was too wild for his society friends. Holiday House is what the house was called and it was bought by Taylor. At the end Taylor switches the person to herself. Rebekah Harkness is who the song is about. When Taylor bought the house people thought she was going to have wild parties and cause chaos in the old money high society neighborhood so they were not happy she moved in. It is on the beach in Rhode Island. That was another song you didn't like. It is based on the story of Taylor's house. Epiphany is another one you didn't care for. The first part is about Taylor's grandfather in W.W. II. and how he saw so much awful things he could never speak about it. Then she turns the second half of the song into the Healthcare workers during Covid. At the height of it the hospitals were like a war zone. People sick and dying everywhere with only the nurses there to comfort them. Both stories are how much trauma those people saw and how many of them will have ptsd and never be able to deal with all the death they saw so they kinda shut down and never speak about it.

    • And, given that Taylor follows up August with the final lyrics of Illicit Affairs on the Eras Tour, I'd say that Illicit Affairs is Augustines perspective afterwards...we thought it was a trio of songs, but it's actually a foursome of connected songs.

    • I think in contrast to what he thinks the album is about, he's actually too young to resonate with some of this. It makes a lot of sense that he connected with seven the most as he's old enough to find nostalgia in childhood, but probably too young to relate to lgad, my tears ricochet, exile or illicit affairs. It's more for relatable to people who have been through divorce or major breakups where you have to literally divide your life or people with more life experience than it is to 16 year olds girls. Lol

Taylor has said this about her three writing styles "I’ve never talked about this publicly before, because, well, it’s dorky. But I also have, in my mind, secretly, established genres categories for lyrics I write," she explained. "Three of them, to be exact. They are affectionately titled Quill Lyrics, Fountain Pen Lyrics, and Glitter Gel Pen Lyrics." -Taylor Swift

  • I think you misunderstood a lot of these song meanings here, so i'll list them out lol The 1: Thinking of a recent relationship and wondering how fun it would be if it worked out Cardigan: One of the 3 songs of the Folklore love cycle, this one is written on Betty's perspective. Betty basically feels betrayed because James cheated on her with Augustine in the summer The Last Great American Dynasty: It's based on a true story of a woman named Rebekah Harkness, who was the past owner of Taylor's Holiday Beach House on Rhode Island. It tells the story of a woman who married the heir to a rich oil industry, then her townsfolk blamed everything on her when her spouse passed away Exile: Written from the perspective of two people after breaking up with each other and looking back on what went wrong in their relationship, and later on they pinpoint the blame on each other My Tears Ricochet: Written based on Taylor's real life experience. She feels betrayed that the man she's been working with and supporting for years of her career, which is Scott Borchetta, former owner of Big Machine Records, sold off all her masters to someone who bullies and picks on Taylor both online and in real life Mirrorball: Someone trying their best and doing everything to get their lover's attention, in fear of being forgotten and neglected Seven: Basically about childhood friends and nostalgia August: One of the songs from the Folklore Love Triangle, this one is written from the perspective of Augustine. As you know, James cheated on Betty with Augustine in the summer. After the summer ended, James had stopped their relationship to go back to Betty, but Augustine felt betrayed and sad, because she thought the relationship was going really well, but James just saw her as a summer fling This Is Me Trying: Trying your best to do everything for your lover when you're going through a lot of tough things in your own life Illicit Affairs: This is basically the opposite of the song August, the person who is the perspective in this song realizes that their lover is only dating them in secret because their lover is cheating on someone with them, so the person in perspective secretly leaves Mad Woman: About mysoginists who does horrible things to a woman and question why she's mad (Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were also referenced in this song, because of the whole Snake hate train they caused back in 2017, in which Taylor has been proven to be in the right) Epiphany: Half of this song is about soldiers fighting in wars, and half of this song is about Coronavirus patients Betty: The last song from the Folklore Love Triangle, written from the perspective of James. This song is basically James' childish apology letter he wrote to Betty after he cheated on her Peace: About someone who genuinely cares about their lover, but feels they aren't doing them enough good, or any good at all Hoax: About someone forcing themselves to stay in a relationship they know is toxic

  • Reputation era may have been inspired by the Famous song and the edited phone call by Kanye and Kim, but Reputation as an album is not about Kanye. It has 15 tracks and only This is Why We Can’t have Nice Things is really about Kanye, perhaps the bridge to I did Something Bad, part of Look What you Made Me Do, but that is it. Reputation is actually her biggest LOVE album. it is about meeting Joe, dating and falling in love with Joe at the absolute worst time of her life.

She talks about the meaning behind the lyrics of each song which helps immensely, esp for somebody like you who is going in blind. We get to see Taylor and her producers Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner talk about each song then record it in the Long Pond studio…a stripped down version of the songs. Folklore is the only album we get to hear what prompted the writing of each song! Can’t recommend enough and it would be so cool if you react to the songs in this way!

Yes some of her pop music is definitely a high school pop vibe like shake it off but I would appreciate if you’d come a little more open-minded and away from those comments. The only reason I’m not being more aggressive about it is because I don’t believe you mean it in a malicious or mean bullying way, but I do hope and wish you find out that there are tons of men and non-binary folks that absolutely love her music and stand her ❤ I would also not be mad if this video was WAY longer Like 45 min - 1hr long Us swifties love watching album reaction that are long PLEASE REACT TO HER EVERMORE ALBUM AND THEN REPUTATION ALBUM NEXT Also her live performances are all AMAZING Looking forward to your next video about Taylor Swift and also looking forward to you being a little bit more open-minded 🙂💜

But I Iove it when people keep an open mind. Also understand that the OG Swifties are now fully grown adults who have grown up with her. It’s a fallacy that her listeners are only teenage girls. “Seven” is also my favorite on Folklore but we’re in the minority my friend.

I don't actually understand or respect anyone who can defend West in this day and age. Particularly not anyone of colour. West doesn't give a fk about anyone or their rights. • Unlike a lot of other artists, all of Taylor’s albums have a different vibe and sound from each other. Folklore and Evermore are sister albums, they are the only two that sound similar. What you’ll leave behind when you listen to Taylor is the bully, hateful and narcissistic mentality that you’ve been listening to. She’s Good through and through……look into how much she’s given back to her fans and to her community. Do some research on who her songs are about. She doesn’t take 💩from anyone…..she’s an amazing Human….but don’t make her mad…..

  • Betty is from Janes' perspective(cheats on Betty w/Augustine), Cardigan is from Betty's perspective, and August is from Augustines perspective(as well, possibly, Illicit Affairs being Augustines feelings afterwards)...genius song writting!

  • The trilogy is Cardigan (sung by an adult woman, in retrospect), August and Betty (sung from the perspective of an adolescent girl, August, and boy, Betty), in real time as events were happening. Also, there are entire genres that focus on love, heartbreak and cheating.. country, blues, jazz, most of pop. Not sure why Taylor gets dragged for it. Last, people who say “Taylor only writes about her ex-boyfriends” are as reductive as those who say rap is just angry people writing about people who hurt their feelings. Totally missing the point!

  • My Tears Ricochet isn't about a breakup. She wrote it to Scott Borchetta who used to be the manager on her old record label and was like a second father figure to her. He fked her over by selling the Masters of her backlog discoriogrophy to a douch3cano3dud3, Scooter Braun (manages ppl like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato). This despite the fact that she had been begging to buy her Masters from Borchetta for years. He sold her music out from under her and then tried to pretend like she never asked to buy them. And she was by FAR the most profitable artist on that record label, so that AH already made hundreds of millions off her work. This whole song is to him...Which makes "my stolen lullabies" hit home a little bit harder.

Number 2 would be the famous music video claiming he made "THAT bitch (taylor) famous and that she owes him sex". Using her nude wax figure in his MV. Number 3 would be illegally recording and then EDITING his phone call with taylor to make it seem like she agreed to the famous song's lyrics. Getting Kim to start a hate train on her called #TaylorSwiftisOverParty. Number 4 would be supporting Scooter when he STOLE her masters and didn't let her buy them making her have to rerecord her masters.

  • I'm curious to know what you mean by "religious figures"? Is that a joke, or a figure of speech I'm not familiar with? (I tend not to be up on the latest lingo). As a swiftie, I’m often surprised by how many people don’t realize that Taylor’s music ranges over several styles and genres (pop, country, folk, alt, indie, rock…). Her live performances and music videos are both fantastic. I would suggest that, ideally, you should plan on doing a combination of music video and live performance for each TSwift song whenever both exist. For folklore, I would have suggested her Long Pong Session movie. Here is an example: Taylor Swift - this is me trying (the long pond studio sessions) kzhead.info/sun/ppZ-ptZ8kIR-qaM/bejne.html More examples of her musical range of genres, etc. All Too Well (Live From The 56th GRAMMYs 2014) kzhead.info/sun/qbWCZptocGSnqYE/bejne.html Taylor Swift - "False God" (Live on Saturday Night Live / 2019) kzhead.info/sun/ns59Y7Cnj6Jjg68/bejne.html Taylor Swift - no body, no crime (Official Lyric Video) ft. These are a bit more aggressive, but you really should check them out: Reputation Stadium Tour movie: intro + "ready for it?" kzhead.info/sun/ZbWDkcpuqKNunYk/bejne.html Ready For It? • A song about cheating??? bruh, you're a Kanye fan and most of his songs and his overall personally is way problematic. The audacity of you to act like prude. Also, if you really think deep about the song and not judge i8t based it on superficial factor, you'll realize that it's not about romanticizing the fact of the one being the woman who was stuck in an affair and its written in her perspective. And just because the song basically is about cheating, it doesn't reflect Taylor. Folklore is mostly about fictional characters. Also, AUGUST (which is also based on the perspective of Augustine) is part of the love triangle trilogy. i got really thrown off by you acting so prude and dismissive about these songs, especially as a Kanye West. That's such an L take!
