Imagine a future where the hum of gas engines and the quiet whir of electric motors are replaced by an even more groundbreaking technology. General Motors (GM) may just have the key to making current vehicle engines a thing of the past with their latest innovation in automotive technology.GM has recently unveiled a revolutionary development that could dramatically alter the automotive landscape: compressed air technology. This new engine could potentially eclipse the dominance of both electric and internal combustion engines, offering a cleaner, more efficient alternative. The announcement has stirred the auto industry and promises to propel us into a new era of environmental consciousness and technological advancement.

  • Very nice, but where does the energy to compress the air come from?

  • Next we'll get wind-up rubber band powered propulsion.

  • Another BS clickbait title for the gullible. In life, you do not get anything for nothing in mechanical systems. There are losses everywhere through the cycle.

  • compressed air is INSANELY inefficient. Compressing air heats it up. That heat is LOST and cannot be recovered, Ever. Only the most technologically illiterate could even consider this crazy idea. Having an AI telling us about it does not make it possible or reasonable.

  • ClickBait Junk Information, nonsense ... You are going to have ClickBait on Google's KZhead, because the pay to KZhead channels is mostly based on clicks "hits". KZhead encourages this stuff, even coaches creators how to create ClickBait thumbnails for their posts!

  • This is stupid and changes nothing! Where does the energy for compressing air come from? Oh wait...that internal combustion engine! This is MORE WASTEFUL than is burning fuel to directly drive the car!

  • GM wasting money on ANOTHER stupid investment? Who would have predicted that! Compressed air is completely bogus. Very limited range and extremely dangerous super high pressure tanks that take up a lot of space. This BS video shows a complete lack of understanding of basic physics.

  • The only way this might work, is like the nitrogen compressors we used in the service. A truck sized unit stored liquid nitrogen, that is vaporized resulting in low pressure. The low pressure nitrogen powered a high pressure pump, providing nitrogen with pressure of 3500 psi. The high pressure nitrogen might power a small air engine. The only advantage was liquid nitrogen was cheap.

  • Maybe for initial starting and stopping it can improve performance but it is something that can wear out and it adds weight.I assume breaking will transform into stored energy and maybe idling in traffic can be used when moving again, but it might just increase city mpg.

  • It's going to suck to be an automotive manufacturer. Even if they came out with a breakthrough technology today, which they haven't, because of this EV debacle, no one is going to trust it.

  • The Air must be compressed, generally by Compressors that are powered by Electricity. 68.9% of all Electricity is produced by oil and Gas. OOPS. Where is the environmental help?
