A little late to the party, but I would love if Sims took a break from adding stuff into the game and took time updating some of the current worlds, adding lots, doing more stuff with existing stuff, I feel like that would be a well loved decision
I feel like Forgotten Hollow should have some vampire lounges/nightclubs kinda like how Sims 3 Late Night had Plasma 501, as well as more lots

@@mariacrane4511 honestly, aside from being a huge car enthusiast, I wish they’d add cars back in. It’s pretty much unrealistic to travel without a car these days and for sims to not offer that kinda ruins the realism in games
Or they could fix the persistent bugs (playing on Xbox I haven't been able to get sims to snowboard past the "easy" hill since a month after Snowy Escape debuted 🙄)
glimmerbrook could have been so cool. they could have made witchy little cottages, or if they needed bigger houses they could have been more imposing vibes. like victorian orphanage for "exceptional children" vibes or a wizards manor. it just wasnt magical

Is it bad I was more excited about vampires then Glimmerbrook? Gameplay wise, I really love vampires. How you can learn more about the culture and unlock new powers the farther you go down it

unpopular opinion; Del sol valley should have been the biggest world, like with maybe 30 lots, 20 residental, and 10 community, It should have also included Apartments, and beach front houses

It makes total since because California is one of the biggest states and LA is pretty big too. Lilsimsie is right the actually non playable lots look cool but the ones the built are awful. Beach from lots would have been perfect and they could have been super modern 4 stories with lots of terrain manipulation

Brindleton Bay is one of my favorite world. DOOOOGS. CAAAAATS. I also had one of my coolest families in there.
I realized midway through it was Batuu and then, having no sense of time, thinking… batuu wasn’t out that long ago!

me as a person who has only 2 packs, and get famous in it, it's so so sad that it doesn't have that, it would be really nice, as i'm literally so tired about using oasis springs every single time. it could be a great city while they.. they just wasted it.

My biggest issue with Forgotten Hollow is how small it is. I feel they should have had a a gothic, Victorian village and more places to explore especially considering how many vampires there are. You’d think they’d have their own town.

Tbh I love Forgotten Hollow. I play vampires a lot, so the darkness is kinda helpful bc they're not burning up all the time. And it snows a lot there... the builds aren't the best, but I love the dark forest-y storybook vibe
I stopped playing vampires because I had this household where while I’d be busy with one inside the house, the other one would walk outside and die lol. It happened THREE TIMES, two of them on the same day! I thought of turning seasons off, but that felt like cheating, so I just stopped playing vampires altogether. I love the idea of moving them to Forgotten Hollow though. Well, at least until they get enough points for sun resistance. Thanks for the idea!
For the vampires one, click your front door and click “disallow vampires” the vamps stop coming to your house once you’ve clicked that option

in glimmerbrook's defence, you'd want your town to be the small type and doesn't attract tourists type of thing because of the secret portal. same thing with the vampire lot. so I guess they went with that type of logic.
I agree that's the best explanation for it, but the game doesn't seem to treat the occult state as being properly secret. I've never noticed a vanilla Sim being shocked or surprised by seeing their friend using magic. It would be neat if there was a gameplay mechanic surrounding witch-hunts or something, but in the absence of that it sort of just makes Glimmerbrook disappointing for no reason

I wish they'd do more worlds like San myshuno. It was like, an actual experience. The festivals are sooooo much fun. And i love the apartments. Ngl. I'm good with bigger ones but I would love to be able to explore apartments like hotels and have things in them as well.
I noticed that even when I don’t live in San Myshuno (and I do live there a lot) i end up travelling to it often because there’s just so much to do! I LOVE the lots there!
I personally love Sulani. The vibrancy of the island is stunning.

Sad to see that most of the Sims 4 worlds are underwhelming and extremely limited. It bugs me to no end that in Evergreen Harbor there's a lot of fake buildings and homes you can't access to and it makes the neighborhood somehow feel more empty and desolate than Magnolia Promenade or Forgotten Hollow

something that’s underrated about glimmerbrook and forgotten hollow is that they don’t have object houses nearby that set a standard build style. in other worlds, there’s a build style being enforced by the background homes you can’t change, but in these worlds you can change the build style consistently in every lot if you want.
I agree! I was making a shady neighborhood with rundown buildings in Newcrest. But the background is so awkward cause there are nice houses. :(

i love snowy escape because of how they made it japanese themed. i feel like most of the worlds are based mainly in like america and stuff so it was cool to get a world that was so much more foreign and different. i might also be biased because i am learning japanese 👀
Del sol valley deserved 2-3 apartment and a downtown neighborhood and its own beach with a pier and as for battu... why tf didnt they just give us Hollywood Studios as a theme park pack with Battu in it

They should add more cultural worlds that connect with a different culture.
I would love if they would make vacation worlds livable, which I believe might happen sometime. My pet peeve about the worlds is that there is so much water everywhere and yet you can't swim in it. Yes there are a few exceptions, but only a few. And for some reason I could never figure out how to "wade in the water" - it's like I don't have that option at all.
You should have put a rank between "cool" and "I'm moving" called "I'd visit"

YESS!!! As someone who is OBSESSED with culture it's still my number one favourite worlds and i just really love the pack! The game play is so cool i really enjoy all the new recipes that came with city living! I love the new cas stuff!! I just love that pack!!!

What makes me love to live in Sulani aside from the oceanic life is its social life. The locals are so chill, rich of mutual cooperation. This place features strong local culture and we can summon the elemental spirits to judge how well we understand their culture. And then about Strangerville, I personally think that this one deserves its own game like TS2 Castaway where we have a goal and we can literally finish the game. The world is cool, that's a yes. But the gameplay, the scenario is too cool to be applied as just a simple sims' aspiration. I mean look at its reveal trailer. That's a literal adventure of young heroes saving the city from a certain pathogen outbreak.

Glimmerbrook was a needed world to me. Even if you do not play with magic you get a nice small and peaceful place filled with trees and Woods. A place to move when you need to just get away 😌
I tried living in Britechester, and it was soooo boring. The world was really flat and generic compared to most of the other worlds. I love living in Brindleton Bay the best because it feels the least...claustrophobic, I guess? It feels like you can walk around around and do things without loading to another lot, which is something I desperately miss from The Sims 3. Lately, it seems I alternate between Brindleton, Sulani, and Evergreen Harbor for a livable home world, though now I'm going to have to re-build something affordable on that top area of Del Sol Valley because I had NO idea that view existed! I've never tried to live there, as I don't play with fame very often.

Dead space is the name of the game. Every single world has massive amounts of useable space, but none of it can actually be accessed because they filled it with non-accessable backdrop houses that annoyingly lock you into specific design aestherics.

I just recently got super into the sims since like last year, and in my life not a lot of people like the sims that ik of and finding your channel literally dedicated to my favorite game really made me happy!
Being that Glimmerbrook was the first world I ever got it has such a special place in my heart, mainly because I’m absolutely obsessed with the world. It is so beautiful and really does carry a magical vibe to it, and once you rebuild all the lots in it it’s the best place ever

They should've made a few apartment buildings for Del Sol so you could actually choose to live in the city itself, in the outskirts of the city (which they basically already have), or in the rich area on the hill (which, again, they already have)
I didn’t know that you built the lots in Snowy Escape! When I looked at the lots I was shocked when I realised there was nothing for me to fix but now that makes sense as to why!
Most of the simmers like lilsimsie , James Turner , delicacy and simlicy build the lots

My issue with brichester is that the sims themselves don't seem like uni kids they just walk to their cubby hole and disappear
I also wish they'd given us a way of changing the dorms without using a cheat - I understand it's an American game, but dorms don't look like the ones in Brichester everywhere. It gets really tiring having to put cheats in to make a dorm that I recognise and prefer everytime

I actually love the clothes that came with batu lol. i literally bought it for the clothes and costumes, my sister agrees that the clothes are kinda cool in that pack, she also loves actually playing the game, so it was another fun thing to do for her. (i just play with CAS and build mode a lot and upload houses to the sims cloud or whatever its called)
Evergreen Harbor and San Myshuno are my favorites! Brindleton is also super pretty and fun to use so I guess I'd rank that as top tier

If you have free time to waste on 90% waiting and loading, you can also do it on the sims 3's CAW
@@romangervaise35 The loading doesn't last that much, not as long at The Sims 3 loading screens, plus, it's easier to make a world in The Sims 2, you could just go to SimCity 4 and import your world to the game

4:42 I'm so glad you agree with me on this one. More than half the time I start on this neighborhood (especially in the Middle of Nowhere, I don't know why I just like building there)
I think that one of the reasons that the Mt Komorebi landscaping looks so cool is that they got players like Kayla to create the actual lots. Then the TS4 design team were able to focus on everything else and not have to consider things like whether a house they had built themselves was actually playable.
Honestly kind of weird for a company not to use something that would both save money and make the community happy more often.
Protip: create a "starter save" where you 'save as' instead of starting a whole new game every time. You can fill in the lots and then 'save as' for each new game you want to play.

@@derangedd.r. So instead of starting a "new game," just get into your set-up save and 'save as' for new play
@@derangedd.r. Starter save with buildings all done/lots filled/townies edited and never write over it but use it to start new saves. So instead of starting a new save for a family you open the starter save, create a family in the save and then you don't overwrite the save, but go "save as". Which will give you a new save and the starter won't be overwritten. Same as the Simsie save
I do this too! If I make a really cool lot that I want to keep playing, I’ll add it in to the starter save. Same with Sims themselves

absolutely! and it is not even that magical-looking either, just a regular world that kinda looks like a combination of willow creek and newcrest... I was really looking forward to having a world with a magical touch but it was sooo disappointing :(
Nevermind the disappointment of the Magical Realm. Absolutely beautiful, but ultimately pretty useless. Just nothing to do there or be excited about other than by how pretty it is.

You should play through it once, save the game, then use “Save as” to start your other games after that point

In fact, I really like Mt. Komorebi. I generally like worlds with strong contrast. There are three districts here, and each one is unique. Even the atmosphere itself is perfectly conveyed. I especially like two houses, and both are the cheapest ones. That is, yours, and another one in the modern district. The houses here are literally what I would like to see them in such a place

For me, if there's only one pack that would deserve to move into that would ve San Mushino. I always play there, it's definitely my go to world.
Love this review. I haven't gotten many expansions yet so it's really nice to see inside the various towns. I wouldn't mind getting to see more of them in depth so I can know whether I should get any specifically for their maps. My favorite world actually hadn't come out yet in this video. And that's Cottage Living. I wish I could actually live there in real life. It is so gorgeous. The perfect lush rich vibrant green everywhere. I'm so obsessed with the terraces and mossy ruins and adorable little cottage shires. Plus I finally get to have chickens which are with no hesitation my favorite animal in the universe aside from my recent real life budgie whom is an unexpected exception to my norm lol. So cute. Anyway, I typically base my favorite worlds strictly off of the environment first and foremost since the buildings can be changed but the surroundings can't be. But in this expansion, the houses just happen to be in my kind of rustic country living style anyways, which is just an extra added bonus & perfect for me. If the pack doesn't have a good world but has either clothing or furniture I feel I can't live without, it's going on the wish list (since I'm a fashionista and obsess over designing characters in game and doll designs irl) unless there's content I worry would mess up my gameplay - like if anything brings paranormal or dangers to my sims. I do agree that it is indeed silly to have maps with such few lots - so like you, I'd put those at the bottom of the rankings as well.
I feel like they could have added a secret location in Forgotten Hollow to help elaborate the vampires a little more. There is a perfect place on the cliff side below Vlad's house

I’ve always been a huge sims fan and I’ve been playing for years, I don’t have every pack so I can’t really say much about the ones I don’t have but for me brindleton Bay is the best but the lots always needs work when I start a new file

Honestly the only thing I'd change would be putting San myshuno a bit lower, something about about world is just a bit odd to me. Probably a tier above cool but below I'm moving. Sulani would be lower for me as well, the terrible pack in itself makes the world a bit less to me
I really agree I fee that glimmer brook really could have had a lot more, especially like a separate “magic” neighborhood connected to the gate
And city living brought the festivals- spice festivals, the thrifting one, gaming, humour, romance, that is super cool and I still love using this feature!

well yes, i think snowy escape world is really cool, has many cool paths to walk around, they have three different zones: for youth or normal japanese town, another for shrine hiking, and winter sports zones; which i find realistic and diverse. love it. i want to move there.. Thanks for making the lots, will check them out. Wish there are more realistic sakura trees there (or maybe because my laptop is too potato), but the bamboo forest is beautiful
