    • While he's always learning always giving credit to Mayweather is trying to minimize his accomplishments and talent, trying to give credit to 1 individual; maybe it's the fact he was still inexperienced and young and as years go by fighters can only improve with age and experience. There's nothing more despicable than trying to not simply give credit and trying to contribute it to something that is not factual. While all fighters don't necessarily improve as the years go by , the main reason it's they have reached their potential, he hadn't reached his potential, that's the difference .

Canelo started his career at welterweight, then super welter, then middle weight, then super middle, then light heavyweight. If he can defeat the fighters i mentioned earlier. I do not see a single fighter who can say he's dominated the sport like he has.

  • Grew up watching a lot of Mexican fighters (who naturally became some of my lifelong favourites - Marquez, Chavez Sr, MORALES! Etc) and have absolutely thrown Canelo in this list of names also, by default. This era's #1 in world boxing, since the prime years of Pacman and Mayweather it's Canelo out there daring to be great and dominating way ahead of the competition at present.

    • Like a real champion he took in his faults. Or what he was to young to know ? Chinks in armour!! Humbly and worked his butt off and came back with defensive skills better than most. Sublime to watch. Plus he was a kid when he fought Floyd. I think he's better cause he steamrolled everyone. Didn't shy from anything. Floyd was real cagey in that respect.

He came on the scene with a vengeance & even losing to Mayweather in 2013 at only 23 couldn't derail the Alvarez train 😳.. He just kept coming & taking down everyone put in front of him. He is one of those once in a generation mexican fighters that can be adored by fans World 🌎Wide & he has the fans to prove it ..

  • That loss to Mayweather was truly the best thing that ever happened to Canelo. He went from a great boxer to a downright unbeatable one because of what he learned from that fight. That being said, GGG won that first fight. That shouldn't be a debate. Canelo won the second one convincingly. That also shouldn't be a debate.

  • I am so happy to have followed Alvarez since his days fighting on channels such as unimas and Azteca..When I followed Pacquiao, he was already world champ, and had already beaten barrera amongst other great champs...but with Canelo, its amazing to see how he has evolved as a fighter..from his ups and downs in the beginning to now becoming a complete beast of a fighter..but man even when he was young..he had poise and composure even, when he was seriously in trouble when he fought jose cotto..he knew how to survive the storm and win..
