I am retired workbench mechanic and welder, machinist, engine builder and certified gear head. I would fit right in there doing the things I watch you doing to the tanks. Fabricating parts. Removing stuck parts. Refurbishing parts. Now I can sit and watch this fun from at home.
Highest production values of any show on this subject
Another outstanding episode. Thank you for getting us (your loyal audience) involved in selecting the colour scheme. Much respect for that as well.
I would have loved to see how the guy who made the mud guards fabricated them. Seeing people take metal stock and beat it into the proper form is amazing. I've been watching another series where a team in England is rebuilding a Avro Lancaster, and one of their craftsmen has been taking sheet metal and transforming it into framing members. Seeing what a skilled craftsman can do with metal is almost like watching a magician at work.
I really admire all these people who committed themselves on projects like this.
2 minutes 😳 I've been sitting here refreshing my KZhead feed waiting for the new video😆 this is the HIGHLIGHT of my Week and it's PERFECT cuz it comes out on my Day Off every week. 🤠
I was just going to say the same thing! lol
Back basically 80 years ago, the amount of skills to build everything, foundry, machining, electrical everything under one roof basically - amazing.
There are so many great channels on youtube these days, but this is THE BEST of them all 👍
Nice! The camouflage I wanted got chosen! Well done people!
Thanks to all those who voted along with myself for the camo, another great episode, well done guys
Ahh, the dreaded fiddly bits!😂
That last 10 % takes 90 % of the skull sweat and fiddling.
Honestly, this is the highlight of my week online. Your collectively huge efforts, exacting attention to detail, and passion for getting this old girl EXACTLY right are a huge credit to the whole team. I can not wait to visit!!!
You are great people! Keep up the good work! God bless you, and hello from Ukraine)))
So the tool clamp. I am as far as I know "the" tool clamp guy. I don't know of someone with more than me other than a museum like Bovington. I have roughly 40 originals. I have Beau's contact info but not this guy. If anyone there want to have a Skype call and discuss how they are actually made or what is wrong/missing from yours just contact me here or on Facebook. I hate to see such a small detail be made wrong. I've discussed it with Beau, but I'd like to figure out how to fabricate these correctly.
I always assumed that the stowage boxes on the rear were external fuel tanks as they kind of look like giant jerrycans. Must of been a real pain for the crew to reach whatever was stored inside?
Good to see local fabrication companies get some work outta this!
Kurt, just FYI for the future, the "stiffening ribs" in the mud guards and boxes your expert made for you were rolled into the sheet metal with a bead roller, not _pressed_ in. That's two completely different manufacturing processes. I'm not trying to nitpick, but if you find this bit of information useful, that would be great. However, I absolutely want to say that you guys (& ladies) are amazing with what you're able to do with the bits & pieces and documentation/photos that you've been able to find & reproduce as needed! Definite "thumbs-up"!
I find your videos to be most fascinating, the quality of workmanship unparalleled. looking forward to more restorations in the future
My favorite peace of WWII kit.
It is amazing how the team can fabricate and weld what parts are needed. You people are amazing.
You made a great job, high precision, you working same as german engineering, well done guys. Greets from Germany
Look at those welds... it's not a quality job. Most welds are so bad that water can get into the weld and between the 2 joined objects. This thing is gonna rust one way or another
@@Zelectec I assume you can do it perfectly?
@@BayerischeMeisterWerke yes but that's not the point. The point is those welds are shit
@@Zelectec Hi Peter! Strewth I never noticed that before! I must check them more closely next episode. That's surprising, since the welds I've seen so far looked pretty good, although I wasn't specifically looking too closely at them. But I guess you would know better than I of course, since you're a professional welder. I can weld too but only really on the thinner stuff, up to about 3mm. I know that thicker steel is much more difficult to weld, requiring multiple passes to do it properly I'd really hate to see this vehicle rust out after all the love & care these fellas have taken.
@@Zelectec Maybe I just wasn't paying attention, but I don't see what you're seeing. Rushed welds are authentic though. They wouldn't have had the time nor the trained and motivated personnel to build them properly back then and they were never made to last in the first place. As long as they make it to the battlefield and serve their purpose for a year or two. That's all it was ever made to do and doing it better would be an unauthentic over restauration. Military equipment is rough but functional and rarely built to last much longer than a single battle.
Love Wednesdays. Boy she is looking good.
Great episode. Loud obnoxious ads take away from tuning back in.
1/1 scale Armour modeling. I love it!
It must be so rewarding working on this huge monster...brilliant stuff...keep at her, she'll come good in the end
Another great video. I'm loving the attention to detail guys, everyone there HAS to be a tank nut!! Cannot wait to see the jagpanther with its paint scheme. Well done!!!
I wait each week for the following episodes.
This channel is brilliant. High standards of fabrication and outstanding attention to detail. I really hope you manage to find an engine. Great work!..
I'm sure Germany can remake the tank if they wanted to do it .it would be a nice museum piece for historical purposes plus it would bring a lot of tourists from all over the world if they were to make a tank museum full of ww2 tank variants I would personally love to see a new and improved version of the phanter and tiger tanks with the latest technology it would be awesome
I love watching the guys working on these old vehicles, their skill and knowledge of their subject is amazing. True tradesmen! I like to build WW2 German armour models, and the Jagdpanther is one of my favourite subjects. This series has been a great help in visualising the size and scale of the real vehicles, and as a bonus, is also very entertaining. I have come to look forward to each new episode. Keep up the great work guys!
Picked up a few odd things over the years of driving forklifts but never a 88mm Pak 43, well done on getting it in position, definitely beginning to look like a Jagdpanther now
Thats a huge Update, very impresive what you made of "just" some Parts. Thanks for the Update on Workshop Wensday.
"Well, that's all we have time for today..." oh, I do so dread hearing those words each week ... :D Another cracking episode team, well done, its looking oh so good! Love seeing all those little details (may also have been spamming my Print Screen button getting loads of reference shots for some of those original parts for my own upcoming Jagdpanther project, even though its somewhat smaller in scale!)
Thanks for the update. Great progress and craftsmanship.
Loved this one guys! The final polish is in the details too! It's looking fantastic. Great work on the bits at the back. Those 'C' hooks - are they for joining chains or tow cables together? 10/10 for the bloke who made the front guards & rear stowage boxes. Geez this thing really is your baby ay, being a complete & total rebuild! Hey have youse ever seen an 88 actually fire? Apparently, they had such a high muzzle velocity (3000 m/s?) that they pretty much travelled in a straight line, & were a terrifying sight as the allied opponents could basically see the projectile spinning towards them. What a terrifying sight that must have been?
Those german tool clamps are nightmare to assemble even in 1:1 scale xD
That paint scheme is gonna be a head Turner 😍👍
Oh yes that boy's are workin it.
14:29 i'm assuming that the pins are not original because they're missing their little dimple to stop the pin coming out unless you rotate it in a specific position, hence the extra holes in the OG part of the bracket. That said, the bracketry on this unit is extensive. Lots to work, especially when it's a one-of and without the backing of existing specs. This was much more difficult than the factory worker's work.
8.8cm Pak43 is back where it should be...so satisfying, not that the bolt cutter clip fabrication wasn't exciting 🤣. Seriously, though, thanks guys. One of the highlights of my week is these updates. See you in August!
Love these videos. As if I was standing next to the guys. In reality I am lying in my bed at 6 AM on the other side of the globe… Anyway; these tanks were so over-engineered. Cannot believe how many people must have been involved in design and manufacturing in the midst of a war.
My recent trip to Duxford couldn’t pass without an extra long look at their Jagdpanther. Lol Looking forward to the next episode,
YES #3!
She's looking good!
Oh mate!! Booked seats in advance for next and every Wednesday. Love this stuff . I dont think I blink or scratch while this is on
After years spent bending and soldering microscopic parts of etched brass into these weird shapes it’s fascinating to see them being recreated at 35x those I have constructed. Brilliant. Steve
Absolutely fantastic work y'all! Cheers!
Beautiful Jagdpanther 😀💥💥💥
Thanks for posting yet another excellent video from you on your Jagdpanther!
Love these tank restauration series! I wonder from how many sources is such a rare tank reconstructed? I would assume just 1 or 2. I mean, I could imagine you might be able to buy 80% of the rusting remains of a destroyed tank that has been sitting somewhere on some farmer's land in Europe, but if you need specifically some fender, I bet few people would go "o yeah, I got one left in my shed that I am not using anymore"
Excellent episode! I love these videos. I swear if I had a Jagdpanther transmission, engine, and suspension, they’d be on their way right now. I hope you’re able to get her running in the near future.
Awesome work as always !.👍 So happy to know you have decided which colour scheme to be painted. Can't wait to watch next update !.😉
I've been patiently waiting for the notification very nice
Amazing. Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
I liked this so much that I went and bought myself an 1:16 scale RC Jagdpanther.
Pretty chuffed that this work is happening in my country. Amazing stuff.
And down the road from me ?
!!
Yoü are really making progress! Go on with a lot of fun ,with german engineering! Greetings from Germany!
Great work, and thanks for the video. I very much look forward to these, each and every Wednesday!
It'd be very cool to see the Sturmpanzer IV Brummbär done up
I absolutely over these build series productions! The team is simply amazing to watch do their thing!
6:13 The satisfied smile for a cut well-made 😄
Very cool.
These guys are fantastic at their craft. Look at how much time it takes to rebuild one so can you imagine how long to make it then have it destroyed in a second. Wow.
I hope this eventually became a project to get it fully running
Awesome work! I guess Finding a power train for a jagdpanther is more difficult than finding the Bernsteinzimmer...
Cutting the new guard would have been a moment 😳 Great video as always.
Americans: wow you speak great English how long did it take you Australians: um it wasn’t that hard because WE SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE
@Rick O'Sidhe I think not.
@Rick O'Sidhe If that’s so then I wonder why it’s called the Australian *Armour* and Artillery Museum instead of the Australian Armor and Artillery Museum. 🤔
Excellent episode! Great craftsmanship by the guys! Looking forward to next week.
Guess I''ll need to wait a bit. KZhead appears to still be doing their thing. Only version is 320p.
Can’t hardly wait for the paint!!! Another good video guys!!! Keep up the great work!!😁👍👍👍👍
Wow .Well done gents👌👌👍👍
My favourite thing about your restorations is how they could essentially be done by any (very talented) bloke in a shed with a few (relatively) simple tools. You're not spendings millions of dollars tracking down unobtanium parts and using CNC's to machine everything perfectly. It's just a bunch of guys with a stick welder, a flapdisc (or 300), and a lot of time & effort. Plus, where else can you find people working on these vehicles in this level of detail?
Aw Guys. Beautiful work as always and she's looking a treat.
It sucks that youre in Queensland ive become hooked onto your videos as i love my ww2 history stuff
It's Wednesday my dude's!!!
Looking fantastic!!! Can’t wait for next week!
Bonjour Je vient de découvrir votre chaîne GÉNIAL LES AUTRES NE M'INTÉRESSE ABSOLUMENT PAS BRAVO POUR VOTRE COMPÉTENCE ET SURTOUT LES DÉTAILS UN GRAND MERCI Dommage que jabite en France donc ne pourrai jamais visiter votre si magnifique musée Merci pour le partage des vidéos Un français KING-AIR-148
Great episode, the big cat is purring!
Are those drawings and measurements made by Hilary Doyle?
is it just me or theres only 360p quality
I think you are correct.
It's because the video was just uploaded
It's encoded in HD now, give it a watch.
Fantastic. Lol, it's reassuring to see that putting together tool clamps at 1:1, is fiddly. Makes getting frustrated at 1:35 and 1:16 tool clamps, a bit more bearable 😊 Keep up the fine work 😉
Interesting to see some of the intricate detail work. That 88mm gun is quite impressive!
Magnificent!
love watching the Jagdpanther coming together - epic attention to detail is superb - the absolute best that can be replicated while hunting for the real thing i know only too well what that is like when i did the instrument panels for an RAF F-4M Phantom FGR.2 - i was always amazed not being able to find items at a descent price, having to use photos etc to make a descent enough replica and then just as i finished the real thing turning up on eBay and that was how i worked, create a replica fast enough to then get the real thing
Superb episode - The attention to detail is outstanding. I've got a very rusty headlamp in working order and yes, it's very heavy!
I hope someday you can make that a runner, even if the engine isn't correct. I'd rather see the beast in motion rather than a static display.
this is how my tank gets repaired after a game in warthunder
Can't wait to see the painting...
Cool video!
You guy's are Amazing! It's like watching you put together a Jigsaw Puzzle. Or a 1/1 Scale Model!!!
Currently working on detailing an RC Jagdpanther in 1/16 Scale. I've been building those clamp and tool mounts, etc. in brass. Fiddly work but needed.
Think it marvelous that your group do wonderful work on keeping the past alive.
Another fantastic job mates. Keep it up she is looking great.
super cool, must be a pretty interesting thing to build stuff like that.
Where the engine? Love the work dun on it well done team
Would love to come and visit and see it live. Sadly to far away in the uk 🇬🇧. Look forward each week to seeing the progress. Keep the good work up.
Great progress Kurt, love all your builds.
Love it, can't wait to see the paint!
Smashing work.
Fantastic as always!!!
