Hey! I'm Adam Erhart, and I’m what you might call a “Marketing Strategist” (...though I prefer Marketing Mad Scientist).

  • Gold nuggets, as usual Adam (with dramatic music to boot)! Got called back to my high-paying job, and now can use it to further fund my Film/DM business. During layoff, I learned Full-Stack Marketing (Northwestern) then went deeper into Copywriting, Website Audits and Video Scripting (AWAI).     • you'd need start up capital and good marketing to stick out. It depends what you wanna do with shoes, make your own or start an e-commerce store selling other brands shoes. Can't be Nike or someone since they have their own online stores. Remember about taxes too, you could go to jail if you commit tax fraud and/or tax evasion. But this doesn't mean you can't do it, you can become a millionaire with any market you're in. You just gotta know what you're doing and stand out

  • The issue with a marketing agency or social media marketing agency is that since 2020 everyone and their dogs have an agency. It's absolutely saturated. Way too many SEO specialists, FB ads agencies, Google Ads agencies, email marketing agencies, content marketing agencies, CRO agencies, ecommerce marketing agencies. Everyone is and has an "agency" now. Prices go down because of it and the basement agencies stain the sector. I have worked in the sector for many years and this is the first time, that I recall, hearing about "acquisition agencies" as a separate hierarchical category. Acquisition is one thing, and usually used interchangeably with lead gen or demand gen, which all agencies do in the end....but "acquisition agency" ??? With all due respect, sounds pretty weird....

    • It’s a very good point but I’d argue that just because something is saturated, doesn’t mean there isn’t space for new people to come in and succeed in that space. Also a lot of people will set up an agency but won’t see it through all the way and will give up early on.

    • There is no need to talk with anyone. Even studies show that when we share our goals with friends/family, our chances to achieve them actually decrease. So work on an idea you have, put in the time and see what results you get. Most businesses fail, that's a fact, but it doesn't mean we should never try. Hope that helps!

    • Fear is normal, everybody has it and all successful entrepreneurs had to push through it in the beginning. The secret is accepting that fear is just a feeling, and feelings aren't facts. Then, understand that courage isn't the lack of fear, but the act of taking action in spite of fear. Finally, the only real way to get over the fear is to take action, and then realize looking back that it really wasn't as bad as you were making it out to be. I hope that helps!

    • Hi there @joesdi I completely understand how you are feeling. I am in the process of starting my business and you will totally face ever fear and insecurity in yourself to do so but when you "do the thing" your scared of you end up so proud at the end. There are some apects that i needed help with and EFT(Emotional Freedom Techniques) helped for me, it helps to regulate the nervous system and turn off fight and flight. I would have a session with someone and the thing i had been putting off for weeks i had enthusiasm to do -was still nervous but it didn't paralyse me. Also looking in your local community about business foundational stuff helps. In my country we have a government run organisation that teaches you the basics that applies to starting up your business and you get mentoring for it too. I hope this helps you and good luck!!

    • I think affiliate marketing can play a part of a bigger business model, but it's tough to make a go of it unless you're a die-hard marketer (as your competition is other die-hard marketers). Therefore it's not my favorite business model for beginners.
