  • What samiya does for the somaliland country is beyond hundreds of MPs, businessmen and elites don’t do. It’s shame she is not been supported. Amazing human.

  • I was in 2018 for six month in Somaliland. I have never met such nice, kind and generous people in my life. I hope I can go back there one day.

  • My uncle was 17 and herding his camels outside of Hargeisa when he was shot in the head and now I was born and raised in Hargeisa just after the genocide. I have never been short of bread nor had to worry about being robbed/killed. although, we spent more than 15 years living in one of the bombing-affected homes shown in the video and I’m grateful for that. This and many other were our bed-time stories for long. I appreciate you Matt by shedding to light the bitter stories of the Somaliland people.

  • I’m Polynesian but this is such a powerful story for these people and where they’re coming from, God Bless the people of Somaliland and thank you and your team for bringing this story to the world

  • Ok, I legit was not expecting to cry while watching this episode, but I was so moved by Dr Edna's words and also by Samiya's work with the girls, and both of their love for their people.

  • This is an impeccable ad for our country. THANK YOU for this truly breathtaking video. Recognition is imminent!!

  • The UN and the human rights organizations need to ensure SomaliLAND is recognized for the sovereign nation that she is. It will happen. Continued lack of recognition will show the utter uselessness of having international organizations in the first place. The number of irresponsible, heartless, and corrupt nations that have representation in the United Nations, and this beautiful country does not? This channel is doing more than the UN 🇺🇳!!! Thanks so much for educating us all about this country. ✨💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯✨

  • Big ups to Kwame who captured the whole trip so gracefully and professionally. All the cinematic shots, the colours everything enhanced the video so well. Literally icing on the cake. The guy had to carry that one hell of a heavy camera throughout the trip.

  • Seeing videos like this one really makes you realize how many things America does backwards. The safety and trust in putting cash out on the side of the street is insane. The immediate openness and willingness to welcome a foreigner and help them if they need it. Giving things away for free. Always having a positive attitude and being happy about life.

  • Thanks for visiting what I proudly call my country "Somaliland". I am sure you had a great peaceful experience there and I urge all tourists - those with a camera and those without - to drop us a visit and go to the lovely beaches (Berbera, Zeila, Sacadadiin), beautiful mountains in Sheikh and Daalo and most importantly interact with the friendly people in all cities. Salute

  • Thank you for telling the Somaliland story so beautifully!! I have travelled to Somaliland severally and was always amazed how I could buy gold and exchange money so easily and travelled so freely. They are a beautiful people and I hope one day they can get the freedom and recognition they deserve.

  • as a Somalilander myself, thank you so much for sharing our country and our story to such a huge audience and educating them about who we are and what story do we carry and what past we've lived through. it means so much to us, and if anyone wanna drink camel milk, eat laxoox( lahooh) and liver for breakfast, see last geel painting and call yourself a millionaire. you are always welcome to Somaliland✌

  • I am Indian born and raised in Saudi Arabia, i had Somalian friends in Saudi Arabia and when i came to India, i made Somalian friends here as well, theres alot of Somalian living in my city Hyderabad, India..and tbh honest theyre the nicest people I've met, they're friendly, kind hearted, and down to earth human beings...its sad how the media portray them, and i think Somaliland deserves to be on the map and shown on media and be appreciated for their safe country and beautiful people...
