The way Eun Woo was so quiet at first just listening to what the married couple has to say, you can really tell that he was in deep contemplation and was yearning to have what they have. Someone to be there to laugh, cry, love dream and be happy with. He is young still, but I know that when the times comes, he will be an amazing partner in life.

As a single 27 year old woman, I can feel Eun Woo's heart here. I feel EXACTLY the same thing... being single is wonderful. But youre just human. It is often lonely and sometimes it gets extremely sad you dont have anyone to talk to or to be honest and transparent with. You have friends and family but theyre not always there and sometimes they dont get to understand you as well. consider yourself lucky if you found the perfect person for you. Dating and marriage these days seems like a joke and only few people are serious and thats what makes it more sad.

Yes. I really wish for idols to not get scared to date. Not sacrifice their own mental health and whole being just to try to please immature fans. Real fans will cheer on them when they're happy and when they find someone they love... yet hiding or not dating just to not disappoint immature fans is kinda not good. You don't enable that kind of fan behavior.. you have to love them but not tolerate their twisted fantasy.
I just wanna say fans should keep in mind that we don’t own these idols. Just like us they are humans too. They make mistakes. They deserve to love and to be loved. Yeah, I assume the same thoughts as you. Perhaps, he was somewhat referring to that side of situation. Idols are supported and loved as who they are. Nobody can dictate them in the worst possible scenario on what they should do in their lives. I would love to support him and every idol to what makes him/them happy, most especially in terms of marriage or real love relationship, that's why I was a fan and that is my one role commitment of being a person idolizing them.

So Yihyun mentioned on another show that she and her hubby were actually friends for years and wanted to get together but were told to break up by their agencies. Then when they got married for real, some judged her for "marrying down" because she is more famous than her hubby. I guess at some point she was like SCREW IT, I'm gonna get hitched no matter what.

Seeing Eunwoo like this make me always pray that someday all of my idols will meet a person not just as their wife/husband, but also being their partner and soulmate so that they can share their laugh, sad, and always be by their side in their hard time.
Eunwoo being emotional reminds me of my husband so much. I remember that night when he opened himself up to me for the first time, we talked for hours about his traumatic childhood, his weaknesses, his struggles, and his ugly side, but surprisingly, I didn't freak out. I never judged him. Instead, I saw his imperfectly beautiful side which made me love him even more. It must have been so hard for him to open up but he trusted me anyway and that for me, is something so precious. From that day on, I promised to myself, I will always be his bestfriend and will stand by his side, no matter what. I think he wants to experience real love, you know be happy with someone and be able to share your pain with. Because i’ve seen him on other shows where he told people he was focused on school which left no room for dating, and not soon after he became an idol. In which being called that makes it a scandal when you fall in love with someone. And him being the most loveable guy ever wouldn’t want to be known for a “scandal” or you know a “betraying” their fans. Which seems so stupid either way.

Eunwoo made me cry. Being lonely is the worst. I'm 23 years old,living 1000km away from my family,i see them like 2 times a year,and now cuz of corona even that is hard. All of my friends live away from me,cuz we are far from each other,our connection kinda drift away a bit. I'm single,living and working in a new country. I have only a few people here that i can hang out with,but no one to really talk to about my feelings and problems.Having someone on your side in time like this is only a dream,1 in a million. I understand why he cried. When you work with people all the time,you always have to show the best version of yourself,put on a smile,please everyone around you,even when you are having a shitty day. He wants to date,but he knows once the story gets out,fans are gonna eat him away. And that is sad, i love Eunwoo und Astro. People need to know,that him being singer and actor is just a job for him. The first time I watched this video was when I was first starting to learn more about eunwoo and about astro. My first thought was “this is so cute, he really wants someone to love and to be by his side through thick and thin. He seems like the most amazing person ever” but after watching this 6 months later, I now understand everything that eunwoo does, and everything that he faces online and it made me understand his answer even more. He gets hated on for being himself, but he’s honestly such a sweetheart and such a hard worker and he doesn’t only do it for himself, but for his family, his members, and for arohas. I believe he wishes to find someone who he can be as comfortable with as he is with his members. Eunwoo always mentions that astro is his home, and he brings them everywhere he goes and never forgets to mention how much he adores every member too. I believe he wishes to have someone that has his back, as much as the members do, and someone who won’t see him as cha eunwoo, but as lee dongmin. I truly hope he finds someone as amazing as him because he really deserves the entire universe, and he deserves to be filled with nothing but love :)))

I really can't imagine people hating on him... I for one didn't know his true self as I only recently finished watching true beauty and it's the first project I've watched of his... I loved him as Lee Soo ho and couldn't stop searching more about him... I was extremely surprised by finding out that he's the complete opposite of his character but honestly I started to admire him more and more after learning even the littlest thing about him... My 12yr old niece watches this show with me, and she has pointed out to me that he seems to be lonely even before this episode. She says he is always touching people, putting an arm around the guys, giving more hugs, or leaning in slightly near the guys. i’m not even an astro stan, but he’s very known by every stan and out of all idols i pity him the most, most people notice him for his visual more than his talent. i read it somewhere that he often cried at night during his trainee days after working hard so much, like imagine working your ass off on your talent but got noticed mostly for your visual only. i really wish him a good life and hope he’ll have the future that he dream of
We need to admit that an idol as handsome as Eunwoo was created to show only perfection. That's why he feels so much pressure as a human who obviously have many errors just like us. This is the dark side of K-pop industry. They treat their artists as an object.
I agree and I feel like Eunwoo especially is an idol who feels a lot of pressure, and he’s honestly one of the most objectified idols because of his looks. People are constantly watching him, and I think that’s why he cried, because he can’t really be vulnerable or share who he really is or how he feels. It must have been so hard to work endlessly only to have people constantly bring up your looks before anything else. I hope he can find someone who loves him for who he really is.
It's because Eunwoo always tries his best to live up to people's expectation of him. He desperately wants people to see that he is not just handsome, he excels in other aspects as well that's why he studies so hard both academically and other things such as improving his vocabulary in other languages (he learned English language by himself), learning how variety shows works cause he is now an entertainer and constantly improves his vocals and dancing skills as an idol. He can't even show his weakness to people cause they will drag him down. Eunwoo doesn't want to show his flaws to others cause he always want to meet their standard. I bet, he knows that a lot of people loves him so much that's why it will really be hard for him to date someone. Fans tend to own their idols and others will not stay on their side. He knows it too well so its killing him cause he badly wants to have someone by his side at the same time he can't just give up his spot that was build for years

The other comments were focusing on the love, marriage and companionship aspect (which is also what he needs) but I think the second part of what he said is very telling about what he actually meant and people seemed to have missed it. Imagine being an idol of his calibre, known to be the most handsome etc etc, and constantly being told he’s perfect in every way and feeling trapped by this image. I can only imagine what it’s done to his self esteem and I hope that he finds someone who supports Eunwoo, not ASTRO, variety star, kdrama hearthrob Eunwoo. I hope people realise that there is more to a person than their appearance and accolades, there is a whole individual inside our little bodies.
I can't imagine what idols go through. There's far too much pressure to be this angelic perfect citizen and look perfect and never ever say the wrong thing. Korea expects them to be robots but they're beautiful humans with feelings and opinions and everyone makes mistakes but they're somehow not allowed to make mistakes
Rewatching this, I realized he was really busy during this time and have always been worked really hard to promote the group and for his own solo projects that I'm sure when he heard all the conversations about having someone to vent to, he must've held in a lot of issues and insecurities because he didn't want to be an inconvenience to anyone but I hope he knows now that being able to vent all the ugly insecurities and issues doesn't just have to be exclusive to marriage but you can extend it to strengthen a friendship too and being able to build that bond and trust to tell them all that trouble you.

Absolutely, some people say things because others are saying it as well but, those same people are the type of people to attack a idol of the opposite gender for breathing beside their favorite idol.
It's difficult when your career is such a public one, when your profession requires you to be a spectacle, to be perfect in everything. And allowing yourself to be open about your personal struggles, especially the very ugly battles, is such a taboo...because people can use that knowledge of you to destroy you. It's really sad.
Not only that, but imagine how difficult it is to find some genuine that actually loves you for you, the simple human behind the ICON thats plastered all over and also, finding someone thats a good match for you. Relationships are very hard work to start with, add the layers of fame and money to that. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. They also have very tight schedual that makes it hard to sustaining a healthy relationship.
I agree. Cha Eun Woo also strikes me as someone who has colors inside the lines, even outside of his idol life. He’s known to have had good grades in school, didn’t date because of a promise to his dad - he just gives me the impression that he always acts according to set rules. I feel that people like this must feel tremendous pressure to appear perfect all the time and not disappoint anyone. It must be overwhelming to think of never having someone who allows you to be and accepts you for being imperfect.
But BTS and Stray Kids talk about their struggles in their lyrics and they got big b/c of relatable lyrics. Same with self-help motivational speakers. Well I have lots of Virgo energy (Sun, Ascendant and Mercury in Virgo) and raised in an elite circle. I would love to have Eunwoo's high IQ of about 140 but mine was only 115 (tested around a decade ago) and I had disabilities ADHD/OCD(I wasn't officially diagnosed with OCD so I think it's the perfectionist Virgo energy) and Asperger's Syndrome which eventually led to depression. I hit rock bottom when my KPop cover channel flopped REAL bad. Then I discovered a self-love page on Fb which led me to the online self-help world which basically saved my life. Self-love and self-acceptance are very important and an inside job that is not treated by external accomplishments.

True although the consequences for those who got caught were just as bad even back then. WassupMan Joon Park was famously screwed by his own agency when he got caught dating (and this was pre Friendster era!). The TV interview where he cried tears of anger is legendary in kpop circles.
Honestly it's so weird for dating become a crime and sin for idol. Western celebs are able dating here and there and it's fine, compared to asian idols.

Seriously, kpop companies need to take better care of their idols and their health! Their emotional state affects their mental health and when you take away their right to experience love, you are denying them one of the most fundamental human emotions!! This part of the kpop culture is so unbelievably toxic and extremely detrimental to their overall health! I could imagine how hard it is for anybody who is that industry. The opinions and criticisms… life in a fishbowl. Due to security you only have certain people around you but they are also linked to your success- so it’s hard to know who is looking out for you, truly. Plus there is so much pressure to keep the image, I think Eunwoo feels the lonely road… yes it is a blessed one and he’s living his dreams, but it comes at a cost. To have someone still be there when the fame and money are gone, the beauty fades, and when they have seen the darkest parts of you… that is a treasure to find.

The real issue i think are the agencies, because they don't promote a singer but they are selling an object. That's how i am seeing the Kpop world, agencies from the beggining put dating bans on them, stop them from seeing their friends, their families, change their names, their hair color, even sometimes their personnalities and height and weight, they don't care about the human, they only care about selliong a " perfect " object to the fans and the market.
Because some fans think they're the only ones who can date them🤦🏻♂️ And it's also because of the idol's agencies they have dating bans because they think the celebrities will get more attention if they're single.

I felt him....really I got emotional too when he started crying, this is just so sad to hear and see. When something or someone is putting pressure on you and it keeps building up, like you need to be this or that, you feel like you are not in control of your own self anymore, and by that really, you end up imagining or wishing that there would be someone who you really want to show your true self to, your good and even bad qualities as Eunwoo said. As the saying goes "No man is an island" just puts more meaning into it. No man wants to be lonely but also no man wants to be someone that they are not infront of all the people (especially idols), just having one person to show your real self is enough.

Seeing him cry immediately made me cry. Just knowing the type of image he has, and the way he’s presented is enough for my heart to break for him. He has so much pressure on his back, being called a “face genius” and being the “visual” of ASTRO. Yea, he may have the members but also there are just some things you can’t open up about.
