  • I would clamp a set of vice grips on slide once it clears the track window some and tap on the vice grips to pull the slide out

    • No problem. Any way you can get at them will work. I prefer the side method. I can do it at home or even on that trail using that method.

  • Thanks that helped a ton! I've been looking for a way to cool things down when I'm riding on long patches of really hard ice. Is there any kind of lubricant you can spray on the sliders if you anticipate a long dry ride before getting to snow?

    @DMN96@DMN965 жыл бұрын
    • I use "ice scratchers" they are a life saver. I used to drag my feet to get snow and ice into my skid a couple times per mile when needed. Ice changers were a game changer. They are relatively cheap, easy to install and use. You just release them and ride. I used them with paddle tracks. Work perfect for marginal snow conditions. Hyfax will last for thousands of miles if they are lubricated properly!

    • @@EasyFixShaun I do have a pair of ice scratchers, but I've got a section of canyon road that trucks drive on (more like teenage kids seeing how far up the canyon they can take Dad's truck) and it turns absolute bullet proof.

    • Oh man. I’m not sure. Ice scratchers work great on hard pack snow and with ice. Those little pieces of ice get in the track and lubricate everything surprisingly well. Is it bare road you are on? If so, maybe try a water bottle or even some WD-40 for that section of road. Just spray it on your slides and track clips. Anything that will lubricate. Throw some “I can’t believe it’s not butter in there”, haha! Anything would work technically. :)

    • Planning on changing mine out on a 162 this weekend. What's the song called at the end of this vid?

      @samm9174@samm91743 жыл бұрын
    • @@samm9174 Hey man! I wish I could remember the song name. I think its a song from youtube song directory that anyone can use when uploading videos. You can basically download it for free. I am sure its still available but I don't have the faintest clue what the name of it is. Sorry. Good luck on your project though. I hope it goes great 😃

    • @@EasyFixShaun oh haha no problem. It paired well with the snowy driving footage. Kinda has me stoked for trips to the mountains this year! Yeah I'll be changing a rail and the hyfax tomorrow then just waiting till i can pick up my new track. Picked up a anti stab kit too so i don't have the same problem i do now lol Thanks for the reply👍

    • Nice man! Ya it wasn’t to bad of a song for that! By the way those anti strap kits are amazing. I have one too.

    • @@EasyFixShaun yeah i didn't have one on before and i lost the eyelet on the rail and took out the track too😐 everyone I've talked to swears by those things and when i picked it up, the guy said it's pretty much the most valuable aftermarket part i can bolt onto my sled. Definitely looking forward to testing it out lol

  • Should loosen the Track a little . Makes it easier to get out the Slides and putting in new Slides

  • I'm sue to change my sliders as we speak. It is the first time I've attempted. What fluids did u drain so not to have a mess? My sled is liquid cooled.

    @gsxr1000jt@gsxr1000jt6 жыл бұрын
    • Hi John. I didn't drain any coolant. You will not need to drain any coolant either even if your sled is water cooled. The slides are a not part of the cooling system. But try to make sure you don't have a full tank of gas when you tip your sled on its side. You could have a fuel leak there. Mine Had a 1/2 tank of gas. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching!

      @EasyFixShaun@EasyFixShaun6 жыл бұрын
    • Easy Fix yes I know fluid has nothing to do with slides. I meant from tipping sled over so nothing leaks out. But I'll prob drain gas. Thanks again.

  • Did you have to loosen the track at all?

    @kolewiebensohn@kolewiebensohn3 ай бұрын
    • Its a great idea to loosen but you don't have to. I have completed replacement then had to loosen and adjust the track afterwards. The new slides take up more space because they are new and thicker. So general the track will increase in tightness and could end up too tight. I hope that helps 😀
