  • Nowadays I'm thinking of buying one of them, desoldering and removing its eeprom, dumping it to computer and emulating on MAME. Is that cool idea? Did anybody do this before? I googled it but found nothing.

    • wow That is a great Idea mate. You know not many ppl know how to do that If you can do it I would be interested to see what happens to resolution of the games how it will turn out in a monitor, You should do it for sure

  • This device was very popular in post-soviet countries, because of it's price and accessability. I live in Poland and i remember everyone having one myself. For many of us this was the first time experiencing an electronic game. It became more common to have than gameboy. Battery lifetime was like a month or more

    • Tbh, it was quite creative. Tiger electronics and orher lcd games tried to be more complicated than they could, making character art to simulate graphics and porting console games like street fighter, wich barely worked. Drawing a square grid to simulate pixels was pretty smart, it could emulate tetris perfectly, not to mention it was versatile enough to add more games . Granted, they were very simple games and the screen was a bit too small for some, but it felt closer to an actual console.
