A few years ago, I bought a 2010 Passat Sportwagon from a 75 year old lady. She gave me a copy of a photograph of her driving said wagon down the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca! I asked her to marry me (I was 60 at the time) but she said she preferred younger men =D

I like the one of the guy who runs into house and tells his wife in the bathroom with her hair up in a towel she has to come out and see this! Drags her outside and is all excited to show her when he turns his key in the door lock all the windows go down. Next scene is the house door slamming angrily shut in the background while he stands bewildered by his car. Love it such a typical guy/woman reaction! PS I would have been as mad as the wife too 🤣😆😂

I bought my Mk2 Golf from an old lady with 60K km on it. It is in fact in relatively bad shape because it *wasn't* driven.

I got my 91 Jetta coupe in 2003 when dad went to trade it in for a new golf and was offered 500$. So I got one of the cleanest mk2 Jetta coupes I've ever seen for 500$ and never looked back.

How about the commercial for the GTI where there's a group that sounds like The Beach Boys or Jan & Dean and they're singing the tune for "Little GTO" except it's "GTI" and they are singing in German? Or the one where there are executives sitting around a conference room table trying to figure out how to pronounce "Tuareg"? Or, going back a bit further where they are training a VW mechanic and they make him put together an entire car just from the parts and when he's done, standing there exhausted and one of the testers says "Now, take it apart"

@@nikolagnjatic211 Good for you, you probably bought a good one. That can't be said for many of their models. Not everyone neglects their vehicle, besides many recommend to "dump" European vehicles when they reach 7 years, due to increased repair costs.

7:23 it's a gti but redlines at 5.5k rpm? Like a diesel... somethings wrong here

There are, or have been, diesel GTIs in some markets - with diesel torque, they're as fast off the line as their gas brethren. And, some VW TSI engines redline at 'only' 6k rpm - when you've got max torque from 1700 rpm, who needs to wind out to 8k?

The bartender laughs and calls the winner an idiot, turns around and the idiot is at his bar, staring at him? And it's raining furiously? THAT'S FUNNY!

In my opinion there is definitively one spot missing when talking about the funniest VW spots. Remember the Polo spot with the "terrorist" blowing himself up inside the car ... come one, "serious" in a way but (sorry) really funny...

Late 60's VW ran a commercial of Hitler ranting "Efficiency Efficiency" I think it ran one spot Sunday Baltimore Colts then it was gone forever. They pissed a LOT of people off with it.... WTF we're they thinking?
