  • The scene shot from above as Paul moves through the huge crowd of Freman is a visual reference to him being the Kwisatz Haderach. In Dune part 1 Mohiam says "Like sifting sand through a screen we sift people". The scene from above resembles grains of sand with Paul sifting through them but being separate because he is the Kwisatz Haderach that the Bene Gesserit have been working towards all those years.

Love can save anything and shatter everything. Jessica’s choice to gift Leto with a son out of love changed the course of all mankind, truly romantic if you ask me.

      @Pepsi24woozworld@Pepsi24woozworld15 күн бұрын
    • @@Pepsi24woozworld I disagree with this sentiment. I think the only reason books tend to be better than their adaptations is that for a book to be adapted it needs to meet the standard of being good enough to be adapted, while the adaptations have no comparable filter. Moreover, authors generally hate admitting an adaptation was better than an original (like The Shining) because it implies its better insofar as it is different from the source. The only author I can think of who said outright the movie was better was Chuck Palanhiuk on Fight Club. In this case I think there are things I definitely miss like the Harkkonen mentat and stuff that irks me like Chani's behavior toward Paul getting with the Princess, and the only thing I regret losing because of a lack of context was not showing the Harkkonen homeworld. What I definitely preferred in the movie was the Princess because despite how she doesn't really have any power to do much of anything, she does show how an extremely virtuous person could manage that role in life.
