    • This is the definition of stoicism. He's a simple man, he doesn't want much, he just wants to do what he does best. The only other thing that matters is his family and his faith. It seems like he has a very clear mind because he doesn't cloud his thoughts with wishfull thinking. I think more people should adopt that way of life.

I don't know how much these entreaties actually work and get people to go do it but let me just say that if you do, you will be so rewarded with an additional perspective with what greatness looks like and how he was so vastly ahead of the game." -Luke Thomas, Morning Kombat 1. 48 pro fights with a 40-7-1 record. 2. Holds the best win streak in all of MMA (32). 3. Defeated 7 UFC champions 9 times, 4 K1 Champions, 2 silver Olympic medalists and 1 ADCC champion. 4. 29 victories in the first round. 5. 15 wins under 2 minutes and 5 wins under 1 minute. 6. 16 Knockouts / 15 Subs. 7. 9.5 years undefeated. 8. Two-time Rings Tournament Champ, Pride HW & Grand Prix Champ, WAMMA Champ. Poorly educated MMA fans criticize that he fought cans. He fought SOME cans but he beat them in the the way you'd expect him to. What matters is that he fought and beat the very best of his era. Always fun to watch. Always humble in victory and defeat. I got to meet him in 2008 and watch him fight 3 times. The aura of his walkouts - being there in person was special. Truly the HW GOAT.

I’ve seen all his fights many times, and never tire of seeing them again. The absolute goat. It would have been great to see him humble Brock, but by that stage, he had nothing to prove to anyone.

    • He stayed around long enough to lose most of his fights in the last 10+ years. Not sure he'd of beaten Lesnar when Lesnar was ontop. Do you hate Brock because of the fake wrestling ? Brock is a hell of an athlete and a freak and he was very skilled. So I don't see it as a given he'd of beaten him. It's a shame thatbfir the past 12 years Fedor kept going and suffered loss after loss after loss. Legacy tarnished

      @CarlosDang3r@CarlosDang3r3 ай бұрын

    • @brendonmaher1513 After he lost to Wedum he had a decade of loss after loss , it has tarnished career as a whole. Too many loses to be a GOAT. And you seem to hate Lesnar , you're wanting him humbled is proof of that. Is the fact a fake wrestler came on and dominated for a period a sad sore spot for you Brendon

      @CarlosDang3r@CarlosDang3r3 ай бұрын
    • @@CarlosDang3rLesnar had a great run in the UFC. He was pretty cocky and he got away with steroid use as was proven. It would have been an interesting match as most people would agree. I have no hate toward Lesnar, and your attempt to conflate humbling him with hating him, is just ridiculous. Perhaps your view on Fedor supposedly tarnishing his legacy is a sore spot for you. Whatever the case, it's irrelevant to how most people remember Fedor's greatness.

      @brendonmaher1513@brendonmaher15133 ай бұрын
    • @brendonmaher1513 Not a sore spot at all. It's just facts. When you fight for over a decade, losing lots and being beaten convincingly over and over, you can not be considered an all-time great.

  • This is why I think Judo is a missing art in the UFC. American UFC fans would say wrestling and boxing is the most important; which don't get me wrong, are not entirely incorrect. Those assets are absolutely valuable, but the difference of Judo and wrestling is wrestling is mostly power-based while Judo is more about manipulating the opponents weight balance to take them down; then ofcourse you have newaza too. This is what made Fedor the monster he is. He had trained Judo at the same time he worked out to build power for his boxing.

  • What a shame he didnt pusue boxing , he could have been the greatest and richest ever. Still the greatest all round fighter ever and it will take a Herculean effort to come even close to his record or longevity, 24 years at the top against the very best , fought well above his weight , cleanly , never cheated nor duck anyone, if there has been a greater champion in any xport id like to know,,, he even out does big george in the humble and great stakes. Amazing man .

    • Greatest heavyweight arguably. If he took to boxing, bro you're smoking some good good, he wouldn't have been top 10 for his generation, not arguably, just a fact!

  • good documentary Fedor was my favourite not just for his abilities and heart , but because of his stoic public persona wins....shrugs "another day at office" loses shrugs "another day at office",, always respectful modern fighters should try to emulate that.

  • There will never be another Fedor Emelianenko, no one has done anything close to what he did in his prime. He could have retired undefeated but that's not who he is. I feel bad for people who weren't there to see his dominance. All they know is UFC even though the best fighters at the time were all outside of the UFC. There was no one who could touch him, his entrance brought fear to his opponents.

  • Russians are such class acts. A real testament to their honour. It’s fascinating that he was born in Donetsk, Ukraine but during the USSR times, thus his Russian identity. I hope his countrymen can come together and end their fighting. He would certainly be a bridge to ending the bloodshed. Also, Lactic acid doesn’t exist for this man! Unbelievable! He was a true ambassador to the sport world wide!
