Lol I was thinking the same thing here!! If I left a mess like that in a kitchen I wouldn't work! Clean as you go. Guessing the owner has little ones. They can be messy.
People are nasty. I work 80 hours a week. It litterly takes me like 20 min to run my car through a car wash cost $7 then vacuum it which is free. Even once a month. I could work 120 hours a week and still clean my car once a month.
I just can’t believe that some people would drop a bag of Cheetos ,fries or nuggets in their car and be like: “oh well” and continue on with their day without cleaning it up
I just bought a brand new car almost a month ago, and I will never let it get this bad! Just shows some people don't care about their cars.

Having complex OCD and anxiety, I find these videos very soothing. It helps to watch you follow the same routines for cleaning when the vehicle seems overwhelming to deal with. It helps to incorporate similar steps to solve whatever problems life throws at you and not just overreact and overthink to the point where nothing gets accomplished. Thanks for all that you do and not being judgy towards the vehicle owners!
I have a lesser version of OCD but I agree completely with you it does help to have a routine to stuff like this and not overthink and he really deserves a metal for being a really nice person

You should install hooks in the wall of the new shop that can clip floor Matt’s in so you have to work facing down / bent over!! Just an idea!
I'm surprised you haven't fabricated a 45° rack (think: slantboard) on which to pressure wash the dirty mats so all the filthy wash water drains off immediately rather than requiring numerous passes with the wand. To hold the mat to the rack there would be a large spring-loaded clip at the top similar to clamp/clips sold in office supply stores for clipping together a stack of papers. It would also have a slanted catch pan under it to funnel the water and dirt into whatever catchment/drain system you choose. This would also keep your shop floor much cleaner as you are working.
at first I thought I wanted to be a car detailer, then I realized I just wanted to play with pressure washers.

Which leads me to thinking this car will never be rid of the stench without the headliner being cleaned (as thoroughly, if at all, as the rest of the car). Amazing transformation!! 🏆

I just want you to know, I have been watching your videos for about 2 months. Feeling inspired, I went and bought liquids and supplies for detailing my car. I spent about 4 hours detailing, washing and cleaning my car. My car inside and out is so clean and it feels GREAT!

I'm honestly really happy you're not shaming the people who own these cars. Sometimes if not all the time it's really embarrassing for people to get their cars detailed especially if they get this bad. When I got my car I kept it immaculate but then I went through a serious bought of depression for 3-4 months and my car got disgusting and it was shameful I felt so bad giving people rides in my car. I was able to finally clean and detail my car myself. Please be aware that you don't know what these people are going through and how they're living. More than likely they know their car is disgusting. There's no need to shame them they already feel ashamed.

I drove over a snowy pass last week and the grime and road dirt was so bad, I took it to a drive through car wash to get the grime off. I enjoy detailing my cars anyway. Once you allow it to get a fair bit dirty then you stop caring, especially when your car is used only as a tool. Add a bit of 0 fucks given to that and you get those results.

cleaning the under carriage is important. Leaving dirt and grime could cause corrosion, lead to holes, etc. Important parts down there =)
If car is from area where winter snow salt and sand if don’t do undercarriage car will rust a hole in it

Watching you detail these cars is very calming for my ocd.... Well after I've had a full blown anxiety attack at seeing them before you start! Lol how many blinking bottles did you find in this car? How much money have these wasted on bottles? 😱 The people who own that car really must know the truth definition of going nose blind because I could smell that thing from here in the UK! I get that people may be embarrassed or whatever but coming from someone who physically can't walk half the time let alone clean my car I always make sure to have it fully valeted at least once a year, there is no excuse to let it get this bad other then purely burying your head in the sand. Cleaning my car and truck is my version of psychotherapy. I usually work through any problem that I'm concentrating on while I clean the inside and outside of my vehicle. Then I change the oil and do all the normal driveway maintenance stuff. At the end I feel better and my truck looks better, is a pleasure to drive and even works better. Win-win! Great videos on this channel.

Been into these videos lately and one question is... HOW? I am a fairly lazy person on a good day and I have NEVER let my vehicle get as bad as a lot of these vehicles. I raised 4 kids and never have I seen my cars even close to this. smh
My wrist hurts just looking at him vacuum for that long, it's impressive actually, I definitely couldn't do his job

Good luck on your business. I enjoy the detailing too, however since I already have a full time job, I do it only as a hobby, (family and friends), and don’t make money off it. I have no desire to turn my hobby into a business. That being said, I have learned a lot from watching DG, and he has definitely helped me step up my game.

A little tip: it's easier to pressure wash mats if you hang them up vertically. Usually that will have to be against something to support the back when you're blasting them. But it gets the dirt out much quicker when you have gravity helping you.
I just discovered your channel yesterday and have binge watched several of your details and all I can think is….. why?? It’s easier to keep a trash bag in the car & empty it than use your car as a trash container/bin. Great job! So impressed on your work ethic, not customer/vehicle shaming while detailing these unbelievable filthy 🤮 jobs. You are awesome!!!

She's damn lying saying she went to another detailer. If she did, that was years ago! It's not hard to keep your vehicle clean. Here are some tips to keep your vehicle clean without needing a detail cause I know not everyone can afford it. 1) Keep microfiber towels in your vehicle as well all purpose spray for the interior. 2) if you know places like bublebath that provide free vacuums take advantage of that! 3) keep trashbags in your vehicle as well as using the gas stations garbage cans when you see empty bottles, fast food bags, etc. 4) if you need to deep scrub seats lower your windows down to let em dry. 5) keep disinfecting lysol wipes in your vehicle. And if you smoke buy those car ashtrays. Only $4 at Walmart! 6) those bath and body room sprays are amazing for vehicles too!!

This is why I have a rule for my cars... ALL trash is removed immediately when I get home. I won't leave so much as a candy wrapper in my car. My mom always has so much crap in her car and my dad and I HATE it! Growing up, I would clean the crap out of her car myself because I couldn't stand it! To this day, my dad won't drive her vehicle because it makes him CRAZY! 🤣 I definitely got my dad's cleanliness and NO CLUTTER gene. LMAO

This comment hit hard. Growing up, my mom would always talk about how for her next car no one would eat in it and there’d be no trash. It wasn’t the cars fault-she just couldn’t pick up after herself.
I am the same exact way. I hate trash in my car and I vacuum it whenever it starts to look like it needs it. I enjoy driving a clean car and I am not embarrassed when someone else is with me in the car.

I don’t understand some parents today, growing up with my mom and dad they never allowed a car to get that nasty....sure some trash here and there but nothing a quick trip to gas station trash cans can’t fix along with a quick $2 vacuum

Because people spend less time in their vehicle and they're focused on getting where they need to be rather than being comfortable for extended periods of time.
