    • I have so much respect for justin as someone who has suffered from depression and anxiety my whole life it's Amazing what he has done being so open about his struggles. I can tell you it's not easy admitting to yourself that your struggling and need help never mind admit it to anyone else. To fall apart in front of everyone you know and love it's a terrible thing. I'm so proud of him to be able to show the whole world that it's ok to have struggles and need some support it doesn't make you weak it makes you strong and to get back up is probably the hardest thing you will ever have to do to be able to put yourself back together i think he is AMAZING and I'm so happy for him that he had the courage to be so honest and open about it I think that if justin can do it after all he's been through then so can I and so can others it just makes you feel less lonely knowing that there are people out there that understand how you feel and how devastating it can be to have to live with these issues and how much mental strength it takes to just get through the day and I love Mrs Bieber to the support she gives him is just beautiful to see xxx

  • I feel like marriage has been incredibly good for him. It gave him the ability to open up about his teen years which he describes perfectly in the song. I "hated" him back then when he acted out, getting him in trouble with the law, but I started to think about him, how he got laughs for doing the stupid shit that got him into that trouble, and now I fully understand that he was acting out because he was so lonely, even when among the adults who he trusted, but I think most of those adults were hanging onto his coattails rather than the other way around. He is so vulnerable in this song and video, and I hope that it will make more people than just myself to have understanding and empathy for what it's like to be so alone through those formative years, having so much thrust on him. Mostly, I hope it helps him break free from those feelings. I too was a very lonely child, but I didn't have to pretend to be happy in front of the entire world, just my family. I do believe that this is his best song yet.

  • in Lonely we saw a Justin Bieber that we didn't see in the Never Say Never movie. Justin always hid his tears and his pain because he was afraid of criticism, but despite everything he was strong, he overcame everything. People can't understand how much loneliness there is behind fame, when you can't trust anyone anymore, when they leave you, when they make fun of you, when you are stressed and at some point you lose yourself, you look in the mirror and don't you realize more of who you are, from one moment to the next everything in his life changed, he felt confused. Justin lived his childhood very badly, and suddenly he found himself the whole world against him just because he was chasing his dream. He wore the weight of fame at just 16, the weight of all hatred. Loneliness always comes, no matter who you are, but it comes, sometimes to realize who you are, sometimes to bring you down but just to make you stronger, and Justin was very strong. I'm proud of Justin who is happy now, who is no longer alone, who is loved by a loyal person who will always be there for him, who will always loves him, no matter what (thanks Hailey). He deserves all the love in the world. He's an extraordinary person. He's so fucking strong.

  • This song is so sad. I was a little too old for the Justin Bieber craze at that time, but I was still a teen and I was just so jealous that he had a career and he was younger than me. Then I grew up and I saw how ruthless everyone was with their criticism and it was heartbreaking. I can't pretend to know this person's life and story, but I still believe that he has a good heart and good intentions, and the industry really does trap people in cycles they want to escape, and I just wish him the best.
