Hi. My name is Marlin :) I'm a cat....raised by dogs. And I think I'm a dog. I live in the Outer Banks of North Carolina with my mom, Caroline Jarvis Hopkins, and dad, Mack Hopkins....and they just got married!! :) I have 4 dog siblings - Buxton, Hattie, Shady and Buoy. They've taught me everything I know. My favorite things are going to the beach to go splashing and walking in the ocean, jumping on the boat to go fishing, eating fresh seafood, and swimming in the canal. Cats always climb-Christmas trees. What I do is put the breakable ornaments up high and the ones they can play with on the bottom.

My 18 year old orange bullseye tabby named Mr. Bruce passed away on Dec. 9. Watching Marlin's playful antics has greatly helped me get through the initial grief. Thank you for posting those wonderful videos of your amazing cat! Merry Christmas!
I had a cat named Zim. (Zimbabwe) pre-named. Zimmy went everywhere with me in the car like this little guy. Been to many states. He usually hanged out in the back window with his leg hanging down. Went to camp and in the water. He was orange with white like Marlin. I miss him still. (of course) a sweet boy. Every time an 18 wheeler was about to pass, I'd say, "Look! Zim! big truck!' 1996-2015 Today I have "Sundance." He's an orange one, too. Wonderful boy!! I adopted him in 2017. A rascal and he loves to get up on my shoulder for a hug while I'm at an in home meeting. June

I had a cat named Butterbean he had the exact same markings as your Marlin, but my cat was chubby and lazy and twice his size. I miss my cats. Marlin is cute. Merry Christmas.

Our cat took down our Christmas tree more than once. She thought the ornaments were for her lol. We finally installed eye bolts to the walls and strung fishing line each year to keep the tree erect. We placed any glass ornaments out of her reach. Didn't stop her from climbing the tree straight up the middle though. lol Animals are wonderful.

Cats seem to like drinking a bit of salt water. Marlin laps at the ocean. My two cats fought over a slow leak. It's well water, and softened with salt. The cats loved it.

Marlin just wants to "Get In The Fray" either at the Beach or one his own, w/that Christmas Tree! Lol! Cats will do that! I can't tell you Caroline how many times we pulled our cats Off the Trunks of our Christmas Trees! I think they think, they have become Squirrels, w/such large Trees for them to climb indoors! A kitten and a Christmas tree! We have a approximately 4 month old kitten. I’m already trying to figure out how we are going to keep her out of it! I have a feeling we should just make it as safe for her as possible and accept the inevitable! 😂😻
