This one may be more of interest for our friends in environmental sciences. There is much more to this addon, many tuts are online already I'm amazed that it is free honestly.

    • Hi, Indeed the solidify modifier can give weird results. Another thing you can try without it, is apply all the modifiers. Then go to the edit mode, select all the faces, then hit E -> Z to extrude along the z axis and create the bottom. You can also do S->Z -> 0 to have a flat bottom. Whats nice with this is that you can set a different material for the rim.

    • I had the same problem. The addon doesn't seem to support Blender 4.0. If you install it in Blender 3.6, it should work fine.

    • I'm using Blender 4.0.1 with blenderGIS v2.2.8 . I do get a python error message (ValueError) when I press E, but it still imports, it looks fine in the render preview so i just ignore it. Let me know if it doesn't work or if you've got a more specific error message

  • BlenderGIS doesn't work on Mac for some reason? The map doesn't load when you pressed OK on 'base map'

    • A friend also had this issue. I have no experience with that OS, sorry. Let me know if you find a workaround online.

    • Do you have an apple computer? I've had colleagues with such issues on mac. Unfortunately since I don't own one I cannot troubleshoot for you
