Faris Caves are along the banks of the Smoky Hill River just east of what had been Fort Harker, Kansas (modern day Kanopolis, Kansas). In 1884 Charles Griffee carved out three small rooms in the Dakota Sandstone bluffs to serve as his living quarters. The middle and right rooms were connected together by a door way essentially giving Mr. Griffee a two room house. The third room was used as a spring house to keep things cold and a natural spring in that room allowed things to stay fresh in the cool water. We had heard about this a few months ago and glad we made the trip to check it out (and you should too!)
Outstanding 👌🌹😊🙏
Amazing. They seem identical to English examples... Look up Kinver Edge rock houses, the Rockhouse Retreat Worcestershire, Nottingham Caves, Anchor Church Cave, Guys Cliff cave Warwick.
Looks like spring caves used for cool food storage.
Amazing
Looks like an old Munk monastery or church, or early settler to the area just dug a house out of the rock...who knows? anyway I think it's pretty awesome
Very cool.
Woooow! Amazing findings in Arkansas! Thnx 4 sharing. 😃🤗🥰
Hauled a bunch of salt loads out of there but never heard of these.
Just visited yesterday! Kind of an odd place overall. It just SEEMED so random and out of place.
So what were they used for?
i wonder if the door and the table/bench in the back of the room line up with the sunrise/sunset on the solstices or equinoxes???
No they are not ancient and are not sacred sights just some caves a guy dug
My. What a fun place to live.
Are they close to the lake?
It’s about 6 miles north east of the lake, but in order to drive there it’s about a 20 mile trip.
This isn’t a cave it’s a melted structure!
Did Jon give you that idea? Instead of mindlessly repeating jon, why don't you ask yourself what remineralization is. Instead ask yourself if perhaps it makes more sense to think it's an ancient structure that has become incased by another mineral such as limestone. You know, kinda like the same fucking material as the bluffs surrounding the caves. But no... it's always melted. Never the possibility of a city buried at the bottom of an ocean or sea remineralized as a giant building fossil. Nope. It's a melted building.
@@DrewishBearmeltology is a joke. Stop it, get some help.
@@jeffburton2625 oh shucks pal I didn’t realize, thanks for setting me straight!
OMG the exact same way of building in the uk and Malta big slab pores with metal in between the layers made of geopolymer
Yes, exactly. And very like the Limestone caves in Sardinia... This is limestone too :) And I guess it's not carved out by Charles Griffee in 1884 like it's written in the the uploaders text :)
That looks like sandstone
It's limestone, it's in Kansas. Looks like doesn't make just like .... Wtf
thanks for this dave. these caves are quire sophisticated , never known of them, do we know how old they are ? thanks ray Tonns
This isnt what they want you to believe, nor are these caves 1200 years old.
These were carved out in 1884 by Charles Griffee. Not sure why anyone would say they are 1200 years old.
And he did it without power tools.
Yes that very soft lime stone and can be scraped and carved with wooden sticks not as easy as with metal chisels but can still be done
@@troyporter6323 The description says sandstone, so that would be even easier.
It's a melted building
They are very similar to the caves in Sardinia, Malta, Turkey etc. Probably limestone... Check out the smooth surfaces inside the caves... 🙂 The uploader claims they were cut out by a Soldier called Charles Griffee in 1884 I dont believe that... THESE CAVES ARE ANCIENT 🙂
Exactly, that limestone is extremely weathered on the inside which on the outside would take 5000 years or more. Ancient
Melted buildings are all over the world
@@lyndaferguson816 Yes Lynda, I agree :)
@@lyndaferguson816what could cause that? Ancient direct energy weapon? Possible, but my gut is telling me it was a micronova event from our sun!
@@ericjohnson510 Always listen to your gut, it is your second brain, an unlike your brain in your head it can't be fooled
You should of walked around with a white robe , a beard and long hair
Lol, that would have been perfect!
This IS NOT the work of hunter-gatherers
I’ve been there, and you are correct.
Lose the ridiculous back ground music/noise.
I’ve been there, and this is what Wikipedia says. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faris_Caves
