I don't blame or hate on her but remeber they are millions of young mothers struggling alone outside without the money and stuff Diana had. • That’s why it’s more than fair that Harry did the same! I just finished his book and after watching this, I have no doubt that he had to write that book and tell his side of the story even if he would be criticized. I hope siblings and father can understand each other and forgive. After all, there was a lot this siblings had to forgive to their father betraying their mom and causing her so much pain. After that, Harry words are nothing.

There are enough credible eyewitness accounts that show she was not the innocent victim she pretended to be.Though not much is known about his feelings during the tough years of their marriage, there are reports and letters that indicate he was severely depressed. It was the best for both of them that they went separate ways around 1985/86, each with different partners. And don’t forget, Diana was never without a boyfriend from 1985 onwards. Although some of them were married, there sure must have been periods of great happiness. Her life was definitely not a sad one

    • Diana was sure that she would marry Prince Andrew when she grew up. Her family took to calling her Dutch because they were also sure she would marry Andrew and become a Duchess. Once Diana realized that she could actually catch Charles, the chase was on and facilitated by her family. Diana feigned interest in Charles’ interests and hobbies (Balmoral, fishing hunting, etc.)-basically, she pretended to be who Camilla is, a hunting, shooting, fishing, reading country girl. Then as soon as they were on their honeymoon (most of which was at Balmoral), Diana declared each of his interests as borrrring. When the honeymoon moved on to Balmoral she would have have fits of screaming and crying when he wouldn’t do what she wanted when she wanted him to do it (the court was at Balmoral for the summer so there was official business going on and many witnesses). After the honeymoon she proceeded to, one by one, separate him from his friends (he would give in to avoid conflict with her), then his staff (who would quit because she would not look at or speak to those she wanted to leave. In her mind, she loved him, but then attempted to change everything about him, and if he wanted any kind of peace, he would comply. Diana and her family, particularly the Spencers, were very ambitious and misrepresented who she was to the RF, particularly regarding her emotional health & stability. The Spencer’s actually had a bit of a reputation for unstable men (Diana’s mom cited abuse in the divorce), but the RF didn’t think the mental issues affect the Spencer women. Diana actually refused to cooperate with mental health professionals provided by the RF when they realized how unstable she was, and wouldn’t accept mental health help for years (yes, the RF tried to get her professional help) until a friend threatened to out her bulimia to the press because she was afraid it would kill her. And that is just how she treated Charles. As a grown woman she held hostility towards her mother for leaving her abusive father (her mother took Diana & her brother with her but lost custody), pushed her 60 year old stepmother down the stairs (long after Diana married btw), threw her stepmother’s things out the window in trash bags after her father died, fired one staff for claiming expenses with the palace for some trips with Diana (completely legitimate expenses), and fired another who was the currier delivering tapes to Andrew Morten for her for accepting reimbursement from the publishing company. The virginal “Shy Di” persona was completely a creation of a press. A bit like the common impression that the Queen Mother “sweet ol’granny.” Diana strayed first from the marital bed, with her affair that began in 1985 with her protection officer, Barry Mannakee. She met James Hewitt shortly afterward, and they became lovers that November.

    • one of the causes of death was the failure to transport her immediately to a trauma center. They kept her in that tunnel for something like 45 minutes, bleeding out. In the USA, paramedics have a protocol called "scoop and run." Trauma patients are not treated in the field, they are "scooped" up and transported; endotracheal tubes chest tubes, and IVs are started in the ambulances as they proceed to hospital. There is no delay in transport. In some cases a helicopter goes directly to the scene or meets them at a facility to take the injured to a trauma center. I remember hearing this at the time & was horrified by the behavior of the first responders. There is no excuse for what they did. I suppose it is cost effective to let people die but I was disgusted. As a Critical Care RN I personally cared for a young woman who survived being stabbed in her aorta and I realized if she had been attacked in France, their socialized medicine system would have just let her die.

    • @@kimberlysmith579 I was willing to believe some of the conspiracy theories when I was younger but now not so much. One that stuck in my mind. Some have trouble believing the car's driver Henri Paul had a blood alcohol over 3 times the legal amount as he appeared sober before the crash and had a couple glasses of wine at most. A TV doc host in a lab drank enough to match the blood alcohol and tried to drive a simulator. He failed the simulator and at walking. I thought OK there's something to that theory and then I became a cop. Having dealt with my share of DWIs I'm still amazed how I get someone who may just barely failed the field sobriety end up at least double the legal limit. Given how many times the blood samples were tested I'm sure Henri Paul was drunk that night. Add the fact he was the deputy head of hotel security and not a driver I can only imagine the alcohol and the added stress of being chased by the paparazzi led to the crash. You only need a second of inattention to crash a car.

In a certain way, Charles is also a victim. He was in love with Camila but the monarchy didn't approve of the union so he had to find an "appropriate" wife. It's unrealistic to expect Charles to stifle his feelings toward Camila and bow to family pressure then feel the devotion and love toward Diana that she expected. At age 19, there's no way I would have understood the dynamics between Charles and Camila. If the monarchy didn't exert control over Charles' choice of a marriage partner, Diana would not have been put in a position of having to deal with a husband who loved someone else.

  • Diana “journeyed” from being a shy, quiet, naive girl blossoming into an outgoing, public speaking, world trotting, humanitarian who refused to let anything stand in her way. It wasn’t her positive experiences or good examples from her royal family that caused her to become the powerful person she was, unfortunately, it was all the abuse she suffered at the hands of her royal family, the media & the challenges from normal life that transformed her. She became a powerful & influential person she never thought she could be, she was a lot stronger than she thought. I think Diana was a lot more powerful & influential than the Monarchy was, Diana didn’t need a crown or titles to go forward in life, she WAS THE CROWN, the fact that she was more influential than the Queen or Charles proved it. People loved the Queen because of her crown, people loved Diana because of WHO SHE WAS, Diana’s character was more influential & powerful than the Crown or the Monarchy. When the Queen travelled the world, she brought with her the “colonial” idea of the commonwealth, “this land is British territory”; when Diana travelled the world, she didn’t bring colonialism, she didn’t carry the Union British flag, Diana’s “flag” were her out-stretched hands & her smile. When she touched people with AIDS or people who were out-cast survivors of land mines, she didn’t represent Great Britain, she represented LOVE. I think in her last few years, Diana had come to realize how much more powerful she was than the Monarchy, that’s why the Royal family hated her, they hated her because she represented CHANGE, the Queen was against any kind of CHANGE. The fact that Charles was jealous of her from the beginning, the Queen tried to control her & subdue her, Prince Philip threatened her, the powers that be of the Monarchy wanted to keep her quiet, ALL PROVED SHE WAS SO MUCH MORE STRONGER. Charles envied her, the Queen, the entire family, they ALL ENVIED HER, jealous of the “spell” she had on the world. I think the Monarchy would have been so much more different had Diana become Queen, I think the Royals feared that. If Charles was truly against the old fashioned ways of his mother, Diana was the potential to be the new & modern influence he wanted to be, but he didn’t have that power, he became jealous, they were all jealous of her. In hind sight, it’s sad to think how different, how much better Great Britain & the world would have been had Diana become Queen.

She is forever known to us all as The People's Princess!! ❤❤❤ I bawled when I found out about her death.. that was truly the most heartbreaking moment in all of time. (In my opinion) She deserved to be Queen ... even though she knew that she would never be Queen, she deserved it!! ❤ This Generation today needs to know what type of a beautiful soul Diana was. I know that she is at peace in Heaven and finally able to be happy...❤❤❤❤ One more thing I have to say...I don't normally say things like this, but, I believe that Karma has come for Charles...him having Cancer..that's Karma for how he treated Diana!!! He is reaping what he sowed all those years ago...JS!

Diana did not imagine that Charles’ heart had always been taken by Camilla since before Charles proposed to her… his marriage to Diana was to produce an heir… it took Diana several years to figure that out.. so sad.

  • I knew years ago that Princess Diana died in a car crash and have heard it was on purpose. Now I'm watching her story here, and I cried my eyes out. She inspires me so much. SHe is so giving, caring, loving and strong. I = wish she could have lived way more and shine her light more in this world because we need it. We need to shine our own light to make this world brighter even if it seems insignificant or unchanging. It does a change for our suroundings at least, and that's not nothing.
