I love these videos. I barely even do standard DIY, so no idea why I watch, but Stu's pride in Jang on the little things like buttering the brick is just nice init.
Yea this is my first video of Stu I’ve watched and I’m proud to say I’ll be back. He’s clear and understanding that he’s a student he’s new to this environment and I don’t have a shovel in hand nor a level or cement and I feel if I was to gather the appropriate tools I would be able to start laying brick. He’s a wonderful teacher. And keep up the brilliant work. Thank you

Extremely lucky to have someone like stu as a mentor, bosses these days just want a young lad for labour and don't want to spend the time teaching someone the trade. Time is money and in the end the time u put into someone will ultimately pay back in the end regardless, providing they aren't useless 😂 I'm looking forward to seeing how good jang gets over the next couple of years with a bit of experience and practice 👍
Most of them will leave you after they get the skills..and that time and money spent to teach them will not really pay off at the end. I know.. i used to do what this guy do here.. teach others to become better working for me.. and when they got better on doing the work.. 98% of them left.. and not because i wasn't paying them well.. they left and work on they're own..so... The real skilled workers .. steal the skills by working with skilled ones.. and they do not want to get lessions from others...and those are the ones that most of the time will stick with you at the end.

I have no idea why I'm watching this at 12:30am.... I have zero experience in brick laying, but one thing I noticed was just how calm and helpful Stu seems to be as a teacher. When you have a teacher like that,it makes you want to do well and prove yourself. Excellent stuff!!.

Hi stu nice video my friend I have sent you a message from time to time and you know I have been a bricklayer for about 40 years. lovely to see you passing on your skills mate .its really rewarding for us old bricklayers to give some one else a chance .May be try giving jang a 10inch trowel and not hit the level to much try tapping the middle to the back of the brick no bad habits.good luck stu in all you do mate.

When i went to college i had to do it all my self after watching a quick demonstration as the tutor sit in the office..

Good video stu funny how we're all slightly different I was always taught at college cut forward to not smudge bricks and 20 odd yrs later still do which ever direction I'm coming from

Funny how most use a round joint I use a butter knife with a bit of a bend on the tip to do a cut joint quick n easy and works great

Great, how do you prevent mortar staining?
Because youreuse the bricks ,what compo mix do you use, to make it easy to clean the bricks up??

Jang's boots have had more experience,, good lad,, dont take anything less than 200 a day,, and we will all be happy,,
The black mortar I'm using at work is getting my stabilas dirty looking what would u clean urs with ?
