Wife of CA doctor who drove Tesla off cliff with family inside speaks in court for first time
The wife of the California doctor accused of intentionally driving a Tesla off a cliff with his family inside last year begged prosecutors to drop his attempted murder charges during courtroom testimony Thursday.
Dharmesh Patel was reportedly emotional as he listened to his wife, Neha Patel, reflect on the horrific crash for the first time in a Redwood City court and how their young son asked her, “When’s Daddy coming home?”
“We need him in our lives and it has been over a year and a half since my children or I have seen or spoken to Dharmesh,” Neha Patel said, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
“We are not a family without him.”

She isn't afraid of the husband but trying to save him a life sentence. We all know the legal system and once he's sentenced, no amount of appeals will get him out.

Indians don’t get divorced. She would feel humiliated within her community. No Indian man would marry a divorced woman. To them it’s a Pride thing.
Knowing what she and the rest of us know about what really happened and still she wants him around those kids is a red flag, if she is willing to put those kids life in danger then those kids just need to be taken away from those 2. If she wants to put her life again in danger, well then that's her choice, but these children need to be protected. That man needs to have his drivers' and doctors' licenses revoked. He should never ever be able to practice medicine again. He is a danger to himself, his family, and the public. She misses her fancy life, that's all it is. I hope for the sake and safety of the public that judge does what's right and sends him to prison.

She shouldn't get to make that decision. Her children are also part of the picture too. If they were older and could speak up, they may see things a little different. She is saying he needs mental health treatment. There are live in faculties for that. She may need some therapy too.
There's something SERIOUSLY amiss with her. She needs to PROTECT those children from EVER being in danger from that evil man.

I remember this story. It was one reason I bought both my kids Teslas. It is amazing that they all survived going down the cliff without significant injuries.

Why would she wants him near her child? Is it so he can finish the job next time. This is very concerning. I agree the child needs protecting. She is not in a place where she is willing or able to do that. Social services should be investgating this. If his abuse happened to or in front of à child, that is child abuse on both patents part because the child was not being protected from witnessing violence.
