Hargreaves is a mad shout. Guy was a beast for a year and won us a league and Champions league.
Exactly, injury prone doesn't mean worst player
Scored a pen in the final as well!
Plus a sexy freekick against Arsenal
Was a shame for Hargreaves after that first season. Don't think he ever performed badly either just kept things ticking whenever he was on.
Hargreaves was a great player
In case you’re ever thinking of stopping this type of content, don’t. These and the tier lists are unreal
“Your team could win the league, Ste. Mine wouldn’t win the championship!” 😂😂 Unreal Jay
Really suprised that Martial is not on here. Balon-Dor contract and is Phil Jones best friend in A+E.
If martial was sold in 2021 or so and we brought in a replacement I think he would be viewed as a decent player for United that just didnt live up to it
Guy could still win the Balon-Dor
@@domhuckle😂😂😂
Phil Jones was decent and had immense potential, but he was never given a decent run in the same position and got injured too often. He was one of those players who NEVER gave less than 120%, nothing was ever left on the pitch.
After Jay said Januzaj, I immediately thought of Kiko Macheda.
Thought people would chose Jordi Cryuff. People said he was as good as his father.
Jordi performed okay tbh. Scored some important goals aswell
George Weah's cousin
Ste’s face when jay said “that’s the biggest overstatement anyone’s ever made on this channel” 😂 44:40
I love Ste but my word Hargreaves is such a crazy shout. I recall how good he was in 07/08. Instrumental to a great degree in our double winning season success! I know it's just one season but most players end up NEVER having that good of a one season. Defo not a flop!
I agree. I also just, in general, don’t like saying players ‘flopped’ when it’s due to injury. It’s like saying “oh this soldier got shot and rushed off the battlefield so he doesn’t get any respect on remembrance day.” If you play hard and get injured, you have my respect.
Craziness. I'm not watching the video live, but, just as you spoke about taibi I was watching Matt Le Tissiers goals on sky. Right as you mentioned taibi it showed Le Tissier scoring that famous goal against him. WEIRD! What were the odds of that happening 😂
I lost count after the 54th time Jay turned expectantly to Joe before being told it was his turn haha
I’m so thick 🤦🏽♂️
@@FullTimeDevils😂
Every Dortmund player United have signed didn't work out. Wonder if that would've been the same with Haaland if he had joined the club. For me the players that didn't meet my expectations are Falcao, Pogba, Sanchez and Sancho. By the way did Jay say, "Dalot's a good right back."?!
Owen Hargreaves’s in a flop team is absolutely ludicrous 😂😂😂
I think SAF labelled him as his worst signing ever
He may not have been a total flop but he wasn't a great buy, all told.
He played 35 games in arguably our best team ever. He retired earlier than 99% of athletes due do a bucket load of injuries. He played the champions league final and scored us a penalty to win the win it. Little bit of perspective lads.
In a time when being a United fan is depressing af, I'm glad we still have these guys chatting shit to cheer us up. Great video lads, had me laughing out loud throughout.
Lakaka, Memphis, Jordi Cryuff, Balon D'Or Clause Martial, Roy Carroll, Mkhitaryan
Isn't it mad that we have 33 flops in this period and very few are controversial 😂
David Bellion and Gabriel Obertan got an easy ride there.
Bullet-dodgers
While I don't necessarily count 2/3 as flops - there were 3 players that I followed their careers and wished they were at United, only for them to come late and that's Falcao, Zlatan, and Cavani. Really wish we had those guys in their prime.
Zlaten is useless
Would love to see a “what could have been” draft with players we could have signed, kroos benzema shearer etc
Dinho aswell 😢
Mkhitaryan and Memphis going undrafted says it all!!
Pogba, Sanchez & Di Maria take some beating
Bartez Darmian - Maguire - Rojo - Shaw Hargreaves - Veron - DiMaria Sancho - Sanchez - Antony (Macheda)
Excellent work lads. Laughed my arse off and loved the trip down memory lane. But Lukaku needs to be on someone's list. Haha
We've had too many dogsh*t forwards for him to get involved 😂
Hargreaves is harsh. What about bellion and obertan?
Djemba Djemba maybe. I had hope for him but he didn't amount to much at United. Djemba did actually have hype when he was arriving. There was talk that he had a bit of Keano in his play, gritty and able to have some skill in his play too.
Harsh but Ravel Morrison I was so hyped for him to play
More drafts, please 😁
30:42 Ste hitting the high notes😂
"Or Ten Hag, buying all his mates"... I'm still laughing
Brown M&M’s Jay.. 😂😂😂🤣 Ste’s Box Office!
Pogba big shout. He did fuck all. He was 30% good for us. He was injured a lot as well. He was good in the derby, I know. And we got Pogba back then still didn’t showed up.
So I think there is a theme developing here, all of our biggest flops have been top players in their own/home leagues before coming to United. Simple fact the PL is unique and completely different to Bundesliga, Eredivisie, Ligue Un etc. Plus there aren't many players who will be prepared for the scrutiny and pressure of player for what is arguably the biggest club in the world. So our recruitment team need to look not only at the essential technical skills, fitness, stamina and footballing ability of prospective signings but also at their mentality. This is difficult, especially with younger players (Donny, Jadon, Antony etc.) so to build our team squad up with younger players we need to be recruiting early and letting them get 2/3/4 years in the U18/21/23 sides with occasional exposure to the first team environment, rather than signing "the next big thing" which we currently always seem to do about 12-18 months too late and end up paying through the nose and then there is a risk they don't deliver.... see above.... Hopefully infrastructure changes inside the football department will solve that and if only, IF ONLY, we had listened to Rangnick, 3 or 4 of the top taslent in Europe would be at OT now.... Haaland, Bellingham etc......
Tosic, Milne, and Birtles were also an utter bags of balls!
Mental one, could we count Jon-Obi Mikel? We had actually signed him before he managed to snake his way to Chelsea.
We made an 11 million profit on him! He's 1 of our best sales!
Diago Dalot at right back. Jose said he was going to be the best right back in the world
How could you guys forget Telles. You cannot leave out a player because of one good performance, Schwansteiger must be in there.
love the Eric Cantona goal , chip _ lobb and PoborSky assist with celebration against Sunderland
It was a McClair assist pal
@StretfordPaddock can we see Ash on the Brew at some point in the future?
I was in a pub when Taibi was in goal and Fergie and his kid were there in the champions league. We were in Barbados and he yelled at the Tv and asked for a phone.
Before watching the video, out of my head... Massimo Taibi / Roy Carrol / arguably Fabian Barthez Matteo Darmian Alexander Buttner (not really a flop, as he was bought to be a backup) Harry Maguire Marcus Rojo / Laurent Blanc* Juan Sebastian Veron / Donny van de Beek / Djemba Djemba Paul Pogba / Liam Miller / Morgan Schneiderlin / Kelberson Anthony / Sancho / Angel Di Maria / Wilfried Zaha Shinji Kagawa / Henrik Mkhitaryan Alexis Sanchez / Memphis Depay Radamel Falcao / Romelu Lukaku I see in the comments, I would disagree about Hargreaves, he was great for one season, then had injuries destroy his ACL and he played like twelve games in the next.. five years? Yeah bad signing in terms of return, but his performance was really good in that first season. I would say the say about Blomqvist, he had a great first season, won the treble, then got ruined by injuries.
im picking William Prunier in my team alongside Djemba Djemba
Ste's 'BASTARD! at 40:15 was quality
Taibi Bissaka Prunier Maguire Telles Djemba Djemba Kleberson Bellion Sanchez Sancho Antony
I don’t think Wan-Bissaka belongs on there.
I'd say heinze over telles after that whole liverpool fiasco on his way out
How did no one draft Mkhitaryan and Memphis?
Highlight of my Saturday lads. 🎉
Liam miller not mentioned who was supposed to replace Roy Keane 😅
Rip
Antony should be first on the team sheet
Anyone else expect jay to say schmeical for keeper?
Signed before the Prem started or he would've.
Jays team is mental 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mine Taibi Jones Bailly Telles MorganS Anderson Kleberson Anthony Sancho Sanchez For RB; was thinking of Lindelof or Dalot. But based on this year; no. Lindelof found that he is a decent inverted LB; and like Maguire; when you are part of a best defence and played a key part in it; you cant be called bad. Dalot also is versatile enough for me. And has now become a player that cam be considered as a good back up. Like May, Berg, Jesper, Fabio etc. Ste is still having Maguire derangement syndrome.
Surprised they didn't mention Martial.
Lindelof should be first name on the teamsheet.
Cannot believe you missed Marcus Rojo!
Flops aside, if you look at actual talent, so many players have come and gone and mediocrity has remained Pogba, di maria, ibra, cavani, ronaldo, sanchez, falcao, lukaku, depay, sweinsteiger even fkin smalling From the youth, janusaj, angel gomes, garner, zidane even Henderson Mediocrity remained Rashford, shaw, maguire, jones, vdb, mctominay, martial And now casemeiro and varane and sancho look like they will leave in jan now too
Pogba is the most over rated player of all time
Jay and Joe: Hargreaves isn't a flop bcoz he had a great season. Howson: Hargreaves is a flop bcoz he had one great season.
Finally someone said Joe’s Maguire fetish haha
I hate to agree but yeah Anderson 😂 I have Anderson on the back of 3 jerseys and loved him but yeah Anderson deserves to be on that team. Should have done more with his ability
Wilfred Zaha.
Taibi, Telles, Depay, Kagawa, Mikitarian, Sanches, Sancho, Bailley, DiMaria, Pogba, Martial.
Ritchie has been great for Royal Antwerp FC though😂
Mates got a signed poborsky framed shirt above his bed at home. It's fucking mint. Loads to talk about here. I remember throwing a oner down with the scouser in the group that Adnan would be better than sterling. That went well. I coached Nick Powell when I did my badges and he was the best player I'd ever been on a pitch with. Was unreal. Signed for United and just went on the piss and hasn't stopped. I'm only up to kagawa in the vid but can't resist hitting the comments
Joe loves him some Slabhead😂. Puts Ronnie as his striker flop when the reason we did so bad was because of mistake after mistake from Maguire. Maguire got Ole fired. Mistakes and 2 dumb yellows in Ole's last match in charge.
Exactly. He's so biased and against Ronaldo ignoring goals scored and will sing rashford stats to defend him. But same logic won't apply to Ronaldo.
Falcao was on loan on the back of ACL injury
"United ruined him for a bit" Jay 😂
the insanity on some of these channels is crazy. Imagine calling Ronaldo a flop, who was the top scorer, and arguing AGAINST calling Maguire a flop
How martial hasn't been picked in these teams is shocking
Taibbi ended up italian keeper of the year 2 or three times too
This is brilliant
Maguire is that kid in class that gets a sticker if he goes the whole lesson without eating his crayons 🖍️
Barthez, buttner, prunier, maguire, telles, bellion, powell, djemba djemba, bebe, manucho, sanchez
"He said he'd have all the hipsters on board, it's been three years" 😂😂
Ritchie De Laet is an absolute Royal Antwerp legend i love him so much
For Ste and Joes teams i looked and thought there's actually some good players. For Jays i laughed 😂😂😂
Sanchez, di maria, Pogba, depay, Anthony, onana
Im doing biggest flop xi. Not worst xi, because theres no point of including players like Higginbotham and Obertan because no one expected anything from them. Howard Jones Maguire Blanc Telles Antony Schneiderlin Van der beek Sanchez Lukaku Falcao
Never fond of Maguire under any circumstance!…🤨
Ronaldo was not a flop, just the whole club is a shit fest and he opened up about it. And he is past his prime and still managed to get 3rd highest goal scorer in the league. And without ronaldo, this season our defenders and centre midfielders are scoring more than our strikers, and both wingers.
Tony Martial is a shocking omission....frustrating, shit and outstayed his welcome
How was Martial not in this conversation?
Jay is the only one who understood the assignment lol
you guys seem to have lost the plot in the end claiming these teams would win, lol, the whole point is the fact that all these players proved they were coasting - (with the exception of Gabby). Jay is the actual winner as he has the best collection of absolute coasters. Though Joe's Sancho pick might be worth several players on either of the other two teams, that kid has zero desire - really sad b/c he's a real talent
I’m only halfway through the video… maybe Cruyff coming later?
For slightly older viewers; Paddy Roche, Mike Duxbury, Graham Hogg, Ian Ur, Darmian, Pogba, Schnederlin, Anthony, Di Maria, Peter Davenport, Falco. Subs Martial, Sanchez.
While Anthony wS ETHs 5 or 6th pick for United and i can't blame ETH and the market value of Anthont.
With time he might make this list
Zaha, mephis, henrik, Anthony?
Lads do a list of players who exceeded ur expectations
Obertan deserves to be on the thumbnail.
Not really a flop because he cost about £3m and came with no expectation. I reckon flops need to fail to meet high expectations.
Pogba had 1 good season, his first, then Zlatan left and his head went IMO
Roy Carroll dropping a shot from the half way line over the line and then pretending it didn't happen
Cheers lads. Good luck to the paddock for the big one. Glazers 👎
49:00 Anderson “better than Rooney” - Martin Ferguson.
telles maguire jondx darmian veron pogba hargreaves di maria Falcao Sanchez (for me lukaku doesn't make it cos i already thought he wads shit n was so relieved ole sold him) N
Bosnich Dalot Prunier Jones Buttner Kleberson Anderson Pogba Antony Bebe Sanchez
No one said valdes for gk??
Paul Pogba could not handle the premier league, won the World Cup and couldn’t be arsed. That’s a nope from me.
Samson not Hercules Joe
We paid £8m for Bebe. £5m more would’ve of got us Ozil that year
Paul Pogba could've left his career at United as a better midfielder than Paul Scholes, and yet, we got a player who just didn't want to play football. What I'd give for Bellingham's attitude. Worth his weight in gold.
Never in a million years could have been compared to Scholes. That's a massive overstatement for expectations
@@truenme emphasis on "could've". is there a particular quality that Scholes had that Pogba at his best didn't? to be clear. Pogba wasted his opportunity and from all signs I saw, didn't seem to want to be a professional world class footballer. as such he had no chance at being anywhere near Scholes - but at his best, he was unplayable. and had physical strength that scholes didn't have - which in truth might've been a quality that caused Scholes to work harder and remain world class for a very long time
GK: De Gea Defence: Jones, Blanc, Bailly, Shaw Midfield: Van de Beek, Pogba, Schweinsteiger Forwards: Sancho, Martial, Falcao Subs: Lingard, Mata, Fred, Di Maria, Sanchez Manager: Rangnick
I mean, that team is probably good weirdly enough.
40 Flops since the Premier League 🫤 Christ on a bike 🔴❤️
