Are you looking for creative landscaping ideas that don't cost a fortune? Well, look no further! In this video, we'll introduce you to a budget-friendly landscaping idea that we used for our short term rental.
Pro tips: 1. Before laying your tarp, spray an immense amount of insect killer and weed killer. 2. Ground n pound your soil/dirt 3. When choosing a tarp, choose one with a high thickness like 10mill or higher 4. After you've finished with your flooring and all(pavers, stones, rocks, dirt, etc,) spray all over it with a water repellent, do about 3 or more coats. All these things will make your project last much much longer
sir... the job is already done.
Pro tip : ehhh the job is already done my guy
Still going strong without the toxic weed killer 💪🏽
Ima use this! 🙏🏾
@@Rios_Life_ to each his own brother! I like how your project turned out💪
This is the sort of hard work and dedication that deserves the likes!😊
Exactly
Gotta love a man who can actually DO STUFF! It helps that he’s easy on the eyes 🤭
Simple cute and functional. Now, just add a few potted plants roll out the que, small serving table, and I'll be right over to join y'all.😂❤.Family and friends privacy 🎉
Great ideas!
Very nice!!! Add some plants and it will definitely be a show stopper👏🏽
Definitely!!
Looks amazing...looks like you brought the caribbean to your yard Mayb add a small/fake palm tree or some tropical decors
Mama was determined to have her backyard odyssey. ❤❤❤
Dam you went old school in breaking up the soil. I would have rented a tiller. Awesome job though.
Good job. Wish I remembered to video and post my projects.. I go a bit overboard 😂. Took a week vacation to pour 6000lbs of concrete into diy pavers and black rocks in between.. edged with metal edging staked and then mulch ramping down. French drain underneath. $300 in concrete, $150 for the nice edging and mulch. Rocks for free on marketplace.
Better than nothing i guess, props homie.
That's DOPE fam! My G, I'll be borrowing some of your ideas.
THANK YOU
I love ❤️ it!!
Bro I love it!! I used black tarp on mine! Did it myself
Thank you!
Black tarp genius
Yeah! You them plants and bugs. That'll teach big time!
Enjoy your hard work. Love it.
Very Nice! Looks great!
nice work !! Im currently working on a project at my new townhome i ripped out all of the moss, weed, and grass, treated the space with pre emergent and applied 10 mil black tarp . mines will be "mixed used emplementing a seating area with firepit & rasied garden/flower bed
Was that pea gravel he used for the final layer? Im a new homeowner and just curious
if he gets one of those hexagon grids to hold the gravel in place evenly it will look perfect. It keeps the gravel from forming dips where people walk on it.
Awesome work man
Thanks a ton!
look so great
Your leggings are everything in the video ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ ohhh nice yard 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I couldn't do this. My toddlers would be throwing those rocks constantly
I see what you mean. Our child loves playing with the pebbles but throwing them could pose an issue.
Ummm how about telling your kid to not throw stones. Simple discipline.
Simply.. but stunning
Thank you! 😊
This is truly amazing, damn
This got me excited for my yard work! I can't WAIT for the weather to break
Nice!!!
Looks great. If ever your in the UK come do mine 😊❤🎉
OMGOODNESS - 😍Beautiful, absolutely beautiful.😍The best part, no more mowing back there.

Wow that's amazing! Where to get the rocks from at such a great rate
Check out your nearest gravel yard.
Really pretty 👍
Thank you! 😊
i like the simple fence, what do they call that style
I’m not sure if there’s a name for it per se. We used cedar fencing.
Very nice
Thanks
Looks nice 🎉
Thank you
😊😊😊❤🎉🎉
Can you please run through everything you bought??? Please. How many of them? Amd where it all came from? Thanks!
It really depends on how big your outdoor space is. We use local landscaping supply stores and left over material.
Honest question....wanna do it too...when it rains where does the water drain to? Is the plastic liner drainable
Yes the material is drainable. We also have a slop around our fence line that helps with drainage.
Wooooow !
LOVE the no grass!
I love the sand idea, my issue is I have a lot of stray cats in my neighborhood and if I belt it in my backyard it would be one giant toilet for them😢
I didn't know that. Thanks for that tip. No sand. I think there's something else we can use.
Hi we used pea gravel. I imagine sand would be really messy.
The shingle looks so fine it must be really annoying to walk on.
WOW
YOOOOOO!!!
What type of gravelnis that? Looks like sand
How much of everything did you purchase? Like the gravel etc
2 paver a tarp and half a small beach. 😅
Huge litter box
😹😹
So what happems when it rains?
What did you lay around the stones. Sand or pebbles? And What brand ?
Pea gravel
I see all these yard/garden makeovers with no trees or plants. What does people think we breathe??? 😢😢
We once had a beautiful orange tree in the corner of the gated area but unfortunately the winter storm killed most of our trees on the property. There are still a few left. Thanks for watching!
Right? 😂 like this would be way better covered in clover or thyme and with trellises everywhere to hide the walls. Also where does the rain go? Hopefully that's a permeable tarp lol
@@lauraholmes9353 Thanks for your suggestions and yes, the tarp is permeable. Unfortunately vegetation is having a hard time surviving here in TX.
I’m removing the plants that the builder placed in. Going to lay stone and place a small bench. Thanks for showing the sweat equity 🤜🏾🤛🏾
If you start reading through the historical accounts of the first non native settlers, you will quickly notice the bulk of this country was covered in grasslands. They were consequently plowed under to provide food and incomes to the new arrivals. Fast forward to modern times and the native grasses have been replaced with turf grass for visual appeal and the majority of people with yards stay in their houses day and nigh and don’t actually utilize the outdoor space they have. Meanwhile the misinformed eco-hippies cry “plant trees to save the earth. A botanist however, would correct them by stating how grasslands hold and sequester a lot more carbon and pollutants than any forest. And yes, he could add some flowers, but as stated earlier, the vast majority of people do not actually spend that much time in their yards. Walk or drive through your neighborhood and actually look at people’s properties. In general, the only well maintained properties are owned by retired people, hobbyist gardeners, the “lawn dad” crowd, and the people who pay laborers to create the facade. Everyone else simply has the basic, legally required, amount of greenery on their properties. To bring us back to replying on your comment on this man’s video, the tiny scale of this mans outdoor space is not really conducive to a lot of plant growth. And from the looks of what he did, he is simply looking to be able to sit outside and enjoy some fresh air.
Good just should concrete the slabs level would leave a much cleaner finish 👍🏼
Well level and equal square space in between
Measures them perfectly then proceeds to smash them with the wheel barrel tires and knock them out of line… nothing says landscaping more then that right there.. hahahahah good job man it looks great
"THAN" since you're trying to be funny
Dammmn, you got rid of all greenery 😅
Use a pick square on so you don’t go snapping your shin bone in half
🔥
That’s what we like to see, a man doing some good, old-school, manual labor. Most people nowadays are excessively lazy and then wonder why they can’t have nice things. Good job bud!
potentially stupid question, if you have the tarp, what happens when it rains heavy?
The material does drain. However our fence line slops which helps with drainage.
thanks for answering :) @@Rios_Life_
That looks beautiful! how long did it take?
One day
worth it @@Rios_Life_
Sahara Desert landscaping. Do you hate plants so much?
Until it rains
So you just went with all sand and stones? What type of plastic is that you put down and how level does it stay?
Yes in our area it’s a pretty common aesthetic to use pea gravel for low maintenance landscaping. We use pavers for a small section to provide a flat surface for a table. Everything stays pretty leveled.
Hell y’all got over $200 worth of sand unless you got it from the beach and didn’t buy it.
Not sure how you did this space for under $200. We just did a 3ft by 30 ft path and it cost around $320
Does it get dusty?
No the pea gravel doesn’t get dusty
Who is your plug on landscape material no way that's under $200 that's at least 3yrds of rock
Under 200? Where did you get the materials?
Local landscaping supply stores. Amazon also carries the landscaping fabric/material.
What do u have on your ground looks like sand 🤔?
We use pea gravel. Really popular where I live.
Brapa banyak pohon yang di tebang untuk hal sepele itu
None
What's the black plastic called please?
Landscaping plastic
A for ASSKICKING👍
Step by step would have also been helpful but thanks
A real go get it black man
Diamonds don’t spawn at ground level smh
And it was over 100 degrees outside 🥵
Why them pants 🤦♂️
Damn girl, you can swing a pick axe!
no garden, just desert
Welcome to TX
No way £200???
Hell no. All that sand. Stray cats gonna be pooping all over. Add some pop of color.
No sand, just pea gravel.
Seriously?😳🙄🙄
That's not gonna last long
this cost more $200
bullshit that’s under 200
Those weeds gonna climb right through 😂
Nope, a year later and still no weeds💪🏽
That would make it hard to walk
