The first part of this video did a really good job at putting you in the shoes of a person in power being pressured into making this decision. You're given limited time, limited info, LOADS of pressure, burden and responsibility... and you've got to handle it all *RIGHT. N O W !* While I would certainly prefer that war and fighting to just stop existing, it's a sad fact that it seems to last forever, we can't have peace forever, and even if HUMANITY somehow gets over their endless fighting, there's nothing to be said for the rest of the universe. If there ARE aliens or other sentient, powerful entities out there, they may be hostile to us and we'd need to know how to deal with them... It's also scary to think just how close we've gotten to Nuclear war/ oblivion in Human history for such minor things. Imagine a whole country or the majority of the human species dying thanks to *A cloud's sunlight reflection...* It really is such a terrifying thing. And while again, I'd love it if we all banded together and get rid of ALL our weapons (guns, poisons, bombs, etc.) for as long as we can't trust that the others will be peaceful FOREVER, we've got to stay armed too. As long as THEY have nukes, WE need nukes too. If WE think THEY are launching their nukes, WE need to retaliate and fight back! Better to drag them down with us than just take it and let the enemy win!... Right?

So the Cold War thing your talking about I think your talking about the Soviet nuclear submarine in the 1960’s I’m sure they were gonna launch a nuclear warhead (I don’t remember I think nuclear torpedo) the commanders/ first officers whatever they needed all 3 to confirm the launch of (the torpedo or warhead I don’t remember once again) two did because they thought there was a war and they haven’t contacted Moscow in months but one didn’t (and at this very moment when I was commenting this the video explained it but I’m not deleting lol)
