@@mp5249I think the video is more to show what kind of interactions that tame wolves might like, or at least tolerate, that people also do with actual pet dogs. Nobody was saying the animal in the video is a dog. Wolves are at least a cousin species of domestic dogs (there is debate over whether they're actually the domestic dog's ancestors, but I'm leaving that aside for this comment), and in the canine family, after all. There are also tame foxes out there who like dog-owner type interactions, too.

Most dogs don't appreciate being pulled into one's lap either, that's reserved for the biggest cuddlebugs, like when a BMD has decided you're their favorite person
Agree
Really depends on the dog. Our one boy is the biggest cuddlebug and thinks almost everyone is his best friend. He is still mostly a momma's boy when it comes to bedtime cuddles but he loves on everyone. Our other one is what I call a blanket baby she wants to be under a blankie whenever and if you have one of her favorites she is more likely to cuddle. Again she is 100% a momma's girl but it was just kinda just me and her for a several years.
My husky will straight up let me walk over her and hug her and pick her up
A general tendency. In the end, dependent on temper, inherent disposition and the way they are raised.
Bob loves it! He could snuggle 24/7. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Honey will pick up on more of this ❤️ 🐾
This must be an accurate description as to how our ancestors interacted and eventually domesticated wolves. Because she's acting just like my old Pitbull who loved belly scratches but wasn't too fond of me grabbing her lol
i also think that perhaps contrary to popular belief, it may have been female humans first bonding with female wolves like this. since they say we are supposedly less aggressive. maybe not, maybe so. but if you believe the stereotype is true, it follows women probably tamed a lot of animals through skills at showing affection 🤔 especially when a female wolf trusts a woman enough to introduce you to her pups! now you have a whole litter of wolves that are socialized around humans. and the domestication process flows from there !
Our ancestors never domesticated wolves, they domesticated dogs.

I learnt somewhere that wolves can't be tamed. But here..... it's just behaving like a dog 🥰
MANY traditionally wild animals can be tamed in the right circumstances. Wolves and Big Cats and stuff are completely chill around a person if that person has been part of their whole life. Most cases like these where you see a person snuggling or having friendly interactions with a wild animal like this are nearly universally cases of "This person helped raise this animal", and all the people in the comments surprised that it's not eating the person's face don't seem to understand this.
They may not be tamable, but they are definitely sociable. Watch Lion Whisperer and see how Kevin play with lions, hyenas, and leopard.
Some wolves must be tameable, as early humans domesticated them. Look up the Domesticated Foxes of Novosibirisk to see how it worked.@@
