The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 34-28, in their 2023 NFL season home opener.
QB Jalen Hurts, RB D'Andre Swift and WR DeVonta Smith all got into the endzone. The defense showed up and caused 4 turnovers, led by DE Josh Sweat. And K Jake Elliott showed off his leg with an impressive 61-yard field goal.

@@drakedawson3455 - Slay wasn’t on Jefferson on all plays. Sometimes the Eagles played zone, and Jefferson also lined up in the slot for some plays. He had monster yardage, no disagreeing with that - just not all with Slay covering him.

The refs missed A LOT of calls last night. I felt it hit the eagles slightly harder than the Vikings, but not by enough to get me upset, and it’s not the reason the game was as close as it was.
Feel like we’ve already had more injuries this season than all of last season, the football gods are cruel but this team has the depth and the leadership to overcome them

The redfs missed a lot of calls on both teams. I think it hit the eagles a bit harder than it hit the Vikings, but the balance of missed calls didn’t affect the overall score too much. Play calls and eagles injuries were the reason it was a close game.

Jalen Hurts is not the answer to the Philadelphia Eagles to win a Super Bowl. We play this game to win Super Bowls and for this team to accomplish anything this year, it’s no secret Hurts has to be special and so far he hasn’t. Hurts hasn’t been awful. But he hasn’t been the Jalen Hurts we’ve all expected this year, and It’s up to Nick Sirianni, Brian Johnson, Alex Tanney and Hurts himself to figure out why the consistency is missing and how to get it back. Consistency is the key to maintain focus.

funny how other media is saying the Vikings turned the ball over but reality is Eagles D created the turnovers.
No kidding. I think that goes without saying, lol. And they were lucky to recover all four. Especially that JJ fumble in the end zone, (which they didn’t even recover). What a horse crap rule that is. A few inches less and that would’ve been Vikes ball on the one yard line. When a fumble goes out of bounds the ball should stay with the offense. The end zone shouldn’t make a difference. Where neither team recovers the ball should not be considered turned over. That touchback rule is the most unfair rule in the books. Eagles were lucky to win that game.

I am now 100% convinced, that the RPO is not a true RPO ... And that can be defended ... They are pre-called pre-decided plays, and it is very obvious for anyone who knows football ... New England defended it, now Minnesota defended it ... If it is predetermined, it is NOT an RPO ... it just looks like one ... Multiple plays of the first two games, Hurts could have pulled the ball and ran ... He could have pulled the ball and threw it ... He could have handed the ball off because the ends were split wide and holding their ground ... If we do not run a true RPO, it will be very difficult if not impossible, to repeat the performance offensively, from last season ... AND, the drive to close out the game, that we wound up punting, I almost broke the TV ... How incredibly stupid of an offensive set or calls ... I can see our Head Coach starting to lose it ... You run the ball down their throats, and 2 straight plays, we drop back and have no idea who we are going to throw the ball to ... NOTHING quick ... Nothing design-looking ... Game 1, if it's not for 2 defensive plays late, we lose ... Game 2, if it's not for One pass deflection by Evans, and the outstanding running of Swift, we lose the game ... Yes, I'll take ugly wins all day ... But, this is nowhere near a playoff team right now ... PS: I would like to see Penny run angry ... He needs to watch Jay Ajaya videos ... Or, Earl Campbell videos ...
