About us,
We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.
The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.
Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Terry don't worry about people's opinions on your Chateau. It's your Chateau you can do whatever you want with it. throughout the ages people have been painting their homes different colours including the French. Your Chateau looks amazing, you can be super proud

The lamps look great and very much in keeping with the rest of the metal work. Are you going to make the pond part of the fountains deeper? Also wondering how you prevent the decorative pieces from sticking to the silicone in the molds. Little Patrick did a brilliant job . He would make a great truffle hunter 😊 . X
I think the lamp post looks beautiful they would not look right without the gold I hope when you go to do the fountains you dig them back out as deep as they was I believe you will find a cobblestone bottom and I just love how Ash took so much time with Patrick that was the best part of the video that was the sweetest time taking time with Patrick
I've driven past the chateau over the last 22yrs & it has never looked bright & loved. But now it's looking beautiful again, & she's been given her life back again & so noticable from the road now. You must follow your hearts how you restore her again. Xxx

Ash the best place to metal detect is where people would perhaps sit like around trees, along the roads where they would perhaps walk..around gates, steps .. doorways, etc... @chateaudelalacelle

The color and design choices that you all make arev the things that make you happy. I don't recall any of you stating that you're going to restore the chateau to it's original look. You all have done a phenomenal job thus far. Terry, you have a wonderful eye for design, and I wouldn't lose any sleep over the ones saying, "That's not correct". I love the lampposts with the gold. They were too plain without. The light will glint on the gold, be it sunshine or electric light. Can’t wait to see them in place. I loved how dogged and determined Patrick was to get at the squeaky thing underground 😂

Terry, you are 100% keeping with the period. The actual building may be period, but with the years, excluding the tower, fixtures and fittings goes through stages of preference of the owners, previous and current. I love the current restorations and bringing to life a period building!!!!

Every generation puts there own stamp on their home and can you imagine if someone had told the earlier owner that he couldn't have a tower because it didn't originally have one !!!! As long as you all like it then that's as it should be. The people telling you that you are wrong probably wouldn't have the bravery or skills to take on such a huge project so just ignore them. Personally i love the white windows, railings and gates and its a chateau so it needs a touch of gold, you have amazing taste Terry

I think they are a beautiful touch and at a distance the lamp posts will be lovely with that added dimension. There are plenty of museums that are restored to a historical period. The chateau is your home and your taste is impeccable.

You’re right, Terry, you’re not aiming for a 1700’s restoration of the chateau it’s your turn to make it your own. I love the white accents everywhere. It makes the chateau look clean and inviting. I also really like the gold on the lampposts. I was surprised, frankly, that so many people thought they should be plain white (boring!)
