The fact that Hercules thought he stood a chance against Kratos even after Kratos has killed Poseidon,Hades and many more god's is kind of stupid..............

Here is a unique moment in Kratos’ life where he is willing to let a god walk away without a fight. He told Hercules that it’s not between them. Even went so far as to call him ‘brother’ something he never says to any other son of Zeus

Hercules and Thor are the two characters I wish I could have seen Kratos team up with to fight the big bad in the end. In all seriousness, taking lore into account, Hercules would have probably hated Zeus as much as Kratos did and its a shame we couldn't see them work together.

It's an interesting concept, considering that this game did touch on their similarities (though they left out a LOT). I Mean, I believe in one tale of Herakles (Hercules Is the Roman name for those who don't know) tells about how he was driven to a rage by a god (forgot which one) and murdered his wife and Child; similar fate to Kratos. It's like a pattern of inferiority and jealousy that would make for some interesting dynamics if all the Olympians/Titans/Furies/Fates/etc weren't written as just plain dickish. Like there's a fair degree of nuance to a lot of them. Yeah I agree with you on Herk, imagine at least him not siding with Kratos but not getting in the way due to a mutual understanding of each other's pain and suffering at the hands of the Olympians they were brought up to try to respect and worship.. it's got potential

I think out of all of them, Hercules's death is the most tragic. Kratos and Hercules had the most in common, including both being human, both having been turned mad by the gods to kill their own family, and both being admirable warriors and heroes who respected one another. He could have been Kratos's greatest ally, but in the end, the gods did what they do best: turn kin against each other.

He has grown wiser, and stronger physically, but not fighting as for a long time he wasn't really battling anyone. And he didn't have his equipment. As we can see, he is already strong enough. With a couple of punches he pushed back the ground against Hercules. Hercules is already weaker physically as he can lift the entire stage but strangles at the end. Kratos at GOW4 turned around that whole platform(don't remember how it's called). So yes he became wiser and stronger but not more powerful or a better Warrior. If he had his weapons tho he would be stronger than his past self with the weapons.

This fight stands out to me because it’s the only time Kratos gave someone a chance to back down. He gave Hercules so many chances! This boss is epic for so many reasons 1. Kratos isn’t even sure if he can beat Hercules and tries his hardest to convince him there’s no point in fighting 2. During the final phase of Hercules, it literally looks like an older and younger brother fighting😂 3. The look on Hercules face when he’s pinned down and knows he’s screwed
The first point is not because he wasn't confident he able to beat hercules. Kratos just want to show mercy cause hercules wasn't even a part of his revenge. Easy to say he have no business with hercules.

7:18, dude i don't know why but this part here, i know it wasnt intended and maybe im just overthinking it but it was such a perfect sync, Hercules was confident that he could beat Kratos, the music was with him, the trumpets showing all his might, and bam, Kratos take his gauntles. "Final-" before he even finish the phrase Kratos start punching him, the music then changes to Kratos theme and so Hercules comes to his senses. He's alone now, all his minions are gone, Hera who was enjoying the show was also gone, no one's coming to help him, the only thing left was trying to take down Kratos, he fails and Kratos keeps punching and besting him, he starts panicking and tries to throw him off the Forum many times but fails, only to see his last moments witnessing his brother's rage while being punched to death, when you see things in Hercules perspective, it's really a scary feeling

Hercules has insane durability, and stamina. All jokes aside about him getting mopped, the guy took more of a beating than anyone else before him and still kept going.

There are moments in a game that feel special. Where you realize suddenly that what you are doing is awesome both in gameplay and as a narrative. Where you get completely immersed and lose yourself in the moment. That is truly the best feeling when playing a game. When everything in the world disappears except the game that you are playing. In Doom 2016 it happened in arenas while fighting hordes of enemies with the dynamic music that changes depending on how good you play. It happened for me in dmc 5 while getting and holding stylish ratings. I realize how important music is in combination with great gameplay and setting. The same happened while fighting hercules and the music built up towards the part at 4:10. As this is the mid point of the game (i think) you have gotten better at the game. There are a lot of enemies and you need to use all your skills and weapons to defeat them, all while fighting hercules at the same time. Playing well, destroying everyone around me while hearing the best part of this theme was an amazing experience. And the immersion that is so important.

The fighting style of kratos here is more brutal than the new one.
This is definitely the most brutal GOW game, since in GOW 4 and GOW: Ragnarok Kratos already became calm and reasonable unlike here where he's full of rage and hatred.
Legendary 10 years old game. Also Hercules voice is awesome and the musics are great.
