It needs the 3.0L straight 6 turbo, and 35 inch tire option without having to get the x package. And it really needs a 2 door long bed version!

Damn… was hoping for a 392 Gladiator
Why? It does nothing for off-road capability while making a bloody Jeep truck $100,000. It's only good for rich people who never go off road and just want to vroom vroom loudly at a red light on their way to Starbucks. I'm glad the engineers at Jeep focused on practical aspects of the truck like safety and off-road capability instead of just throwing in unneccarsily expensive engine in the truck to appease the idiots with more money than sense.

Hopefully the new turbo i6 or a variant of it will come to the lineup. It really needs some oomph down low.
I’ve got a JK and an JT eco diesel. But the next vehicle will be 3L diesel from GM now that Jeep stopped offering the diesel option.
The fact that they don’t even want to be competitive on powertrain likely means the nail in the coffin coming soon.
Price is the problem. Way to expensive.

Very nice video as always. Always fun to come here. To be honest though, I’m not impressed with the updated gladiator. All they did was carryover the same updates already available on the Wrangler. They didn’t address anything specific to the gladiator like a very underpowered engine. The gladiator is an afterthought to Jeep.

Jeep if you are reading this, please please please introduce a v8 hemi option with 35" tires from the factory and air compresson. Com on already. Also please make an inline 6 with a single turbo instead of v6.
I think Jeep shot themselves in the foot. When they released the updated Wrangler they should’ve said and these core updates are in the Gladiator as well with no core power plant changes. People would’ve shrugged and figured this year is about the Wrangler and next year will be about excitement for the Gladiator. Instead they waited months and months so everyone was getting excited that there’d be something big changing with the truck since there’s been so much midsize truck news this season. I thought the wait was because there was something special to announce and they wanted it to have it’s own spotlight but no just a big shrugging letdown. Love that it finally has the better safety chops hate that it doesn’t yet have the 4xe. A marketing fail that could’ve been avoided by tying the releases together months ago so the wrangler excitement could’ve softened the parts that were missing from the Gladiator. And let’s not pretend that these two vehicles aren’t very intertwined platforms, they’re even more connected than the Ranger and the Bronco.
Exactly I've been waiting before pulling the trigger to trade my Wrangler. Now with yet another delay, the loss of a powertrain, Gladiator dropped from European market, and the way they avoid confirming a Gladiator 4xe specifically, I can't help but think there may be no Gladiator in 2025. Otherwise they may have announced that plan to keep it in the European market. Now I'm losing confidence in the direction and am not so sure it's worth the investment..

should I get an 2023 jeep gladiator older module in diesel without the 2024 upgrades? Sucu as the bigger screen, and trail maps and so forth I have no idea on what to do since it wont be in diesel any more.
Was hoping to pick up a gladiator next year but without a diesel I'm going to have to get something else

Great review guys. Honest, straight forward, and Canadian friendly ;) I'm a little disappointed in the whole Gladiator reveal though. Fewer powertrain options, i.e only one, big buildup pushing 4xe talking points, and then nothing for the gladiator. If you're going to take the diesel away, give us something back. The 3.6 isn't the greatest towing experience, and there's plenty of people who take a 3000 - 5000lb trailer camping, and the 3.6l isn't great. Yeah, the gladiator can pull over 7000lbs, but it's not a great confidence builder pulling up the Coq, or Rogers Pass when heading out on those adventures. I love some of those updates, but if Jeep really listened to their customers, they never would made a reveal with fewer powertrain choices when people begging for more choices. They really missed the mark with this reveal. IMHO
My question why didn’t they put in the 4xe to this model year I love it my wrangler rubicon the 4 cylinder turbo has been proven and is really good engine actually with the 4xe it’s great on fuel as well plenty of torque so they really wouldn’t lose towing if they tweak it a little. I think Jeep dropped the ball on this. I was hoping to purchase a gladiator 4xe but I guess that’s not in the cards
even a 3.0l Hurricane would've got people pumped until it got 4xe, giving different options for customers.

Idk why Jeep is so adamant on putting a V8 in the wrangler/gladiator. For years the excuse was "it won't fit." Well the new Bronco comes out and threatens the Wrangler's markets have, and voila, it gets the 392. Just give us even the 5.7 would be sufficient

Don't need a V8. Let's give them another reason to jack the price up on an already over priced vehicle. I'd rather see the turbo inline 6 in this tbo.

No V8 because if they would offer it in the gladiator and for reasonable price then people would start ordering them en mass and the company’s CAFFE standards would be shot to death.
When will the hurricane engine be coming?
I prefer the Mojave version, it is my favorite. Suspension, its interior electric adjustable seats, would be a good option for me.
So, why does the price have to be so steep? Why can't we get a straight up 35 inch tire and engine combo so the mpgs don't crash?

The antenna embedded in the windshield is not a great idea due to the flying rock debris damaging the windshield.
I suspect the price continues to soar.

Yeah, that surprised me too. Especially when even Jeep acknowledges just how popular these are as overland rigs. Full float would been perfect.

SAD to much tech to break off road, you would think they would have put the new straight I6 - 3.0L in it, and I know were you can find the adapter to put a Diesel in it.

Pretty disappointed. Where are the high lined fenders for the Willy’s? Where is the full float rearend? Where is the hemi? And where is the 35in tires and 4.88 gears?
And where is a new engine? Like the 2.0 turbo or the 3.0 twin turbo? They didn’t really add anything worth while to the gladiator
Renegade grille is hideous. seriously, they went cheap using that small monkey grill on the renegade, wrangler & Gladiator. Yeah I'll keep my 21 Mojave. I don't care about power seats,. People wanted Horsepower, 5.7 Hemi and 35's! Geesh stellantis sucks. They are ruining Jeep, No one wants a battery Jeep, you saw what water does to battery cars in florida recently with the hurricane. C'mon Jeep build something cool ! Wow! Dear Jeep: thank you for making my decision so much easier! No Diesel, and only ONE engine option that requires a regear for anything above a 35in tire and listed in Gallons per mile instead of MPG! As for the X models, I hope the stereo and FT 4WD is available in the non x models! I don’t want power seats or forced to spend $4,000 for a colour matched roof and fender flares! Maybe Jeep just wants to piss off its customers or kill the Gladiator. Either way, I’m buying something else!

@Redneck_Wizard ummmm... the new upcoming 2024 Colorado ZR2 bison 🦬 is IFS and will come shod with 35's from the factory. The bronco badlands Sasquatch package comes with 35s as well and is IFS.

With so many manual owners getting screwed by Jeep how is the manual offering a good thing?? Stellantis needs to get their sh:t together and fix the vehicles on the road before throwing the manual back on the road!!!

It isn't that big of an update. It sucks to be honest. All other Mid-size trucks came out with a new truck except Nissan which just released a new one. Now Jeep just dropped nothing.
Needs an affordable v8.
This is a huge disappointment. Lack luster presentation and no release of anything meaningful to help bring in customers against their competition. I would have signed the check immediately if they would have released a 5.7, 392, 4xe, or Hurricane. All the other stuff is easily added after talking possession. To stay competitive, it needed new powertrain options. Unless Jeep does some sort of secondary big reveal, the Bison, Ranger Raptor, GMC Bison, and Trailhunter will take further market share. I'm not sure if this is the nail in the coffin, or they are going to wait until Toyota releases all the specs and opens ordering on the Trailhunter to make a surprise announcement. Similar to when they announced the 392 when Ford released the Bronco.

An upgraded engine options would be amazing, but with emissions regulations, the federal government won’t allow it. As much as it sucks to say it, voting has consequences.

That’s 3.6L is complete garbage! (More so than their other engines)
Actually it’s by far the most reliable Jeep/Chrysler engine. It’s in probably at least a million various vehicles in Jeeps, SUVs, minivans and trucks. It’s supposed to last over 200k without trouble which isn’t true for their other engines.

Not really. I leave the drinking cool aid or otherwise to trolls like you. And I have to correct my earlier post. They didn’t manufacture one million of these engines. I was wrong. So far in the last 12 years they manufactured TEN million of them. Yeah. Because it’s total garbage. 😍
