We're making a DIY vacuum forming machine and packing it with features not commonly found in DIY builds, so it's safer and easier to use. In part 1, we start building the structure and mechanisms.

  • I’ll bet you could have gone to a home improvement store, bought a piece of peg board (made out of MDF), stopped for lunch and gotten home in half the time it took to drill all of those holes.

  • excellent work .. if I buy your manual, can you modify it to make it for a larger area? say 100 cm, and can you use an acrylic sheet? what would be the maximum thickness?

    • The effective suction area is around 55 cm x 55 cm. We used a 3.5-Peak HP shop vac and it worked just fine. Thanks for watching!

  • Great video! What is that orange tool called? You used it to join metal pieces together and snap off the metal fastener so it doesn’t protrude... very cool!

  • Hi there, I have 2 questions, I'm from Europe and I'm not sure about the laquer you use, I googled it but I couldn't find any, can you link something? Same for the silicon caulk, I have no idea where to get it. I hope you can help out, in case I can find all materials I will buy the tutorial thanks.

  • Nice work! I like the design. I would lose the pliers and get some sockets and a 3/8" driver though. Pliers are not the correct tool for bolts. Thank you for posting.

  • There's pvc glue, no need for epoxy plastic, screws would be better than the glue, mdf is not resistant but is porous, there are a lot of improvements

  • Nice, but please hold smaller parts with a vise when drilling. At least use a vice grip. Less experienced people could loose grip and the spinning part cuts their hand. Safety first!

    • LOL we had the opportunity to use a CNC router, however, it's not necessary at all. It can be made with basic power tools and interestingly in about the same amount of time. Thanks for watching!
