Officials on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis say about 80 people were arrested Saturday night. ABC News’ Zohreen Shah reports the latest on the nationwide protests on college campuses.

No one is disputing that those people can't protest. What is at issue is the fact that they're commandeering certain college campuses with tents after given fair warning to leave. The problem is that some of the protesters are letting their rights go to their heads by thinking they can just do whatever they want because it's a right. It's right, but like all rights there are boundaries, meaning rules. There is such thing as abusing your rights and going too far, outside of what is acceptable behavior.
We'll see what the courts say. It's clear police are using excessive force, at times, and the legal system will hold them accountable. Law enforcement is full of edgy types that are politically aligned with Trump's violence. That's a dangerous situation for all of us.

After watching buildings on fire during the George Floyd protests and listening to reporters say the demonstrations are mostly peaceful, when I hear a reporter say that a majority of these protests are peaceful, I take the entire segment with a BAG of salt. A big question which the news conveniently failed to address is that there is a big difference between being arrested and being charged with a crime, be it misdemeanor or felony. How mainly of these students were charged? My bet is somewhere between little and none. I recall a reporter asking Denzel Washington a question. His response was "If you don't follow the news, you're uninformed. If you pay attention to it, you're misinformed." The reporter's follow-on question asked how the news could fix that reputation. Dr. Washington responded, "I don't know, you broke it."
I can tell you atleast that the Texas protests are peaceful because I've been to them and seen the campuses afterwards (and also listened in on the police blotter). Maybe they are killing people in New York, but down here it's mostly just students chanting Koombayah and waving flags and signs. (and getting arrested for exercising their First Amendment rights, but then again, it's Texas, what do you expect)

Usually when they're asked this question, they try and tilt it towards israeli atrocities. If more palestinians would come out against hamas, they would have a lot more sympathy from people here, But since they voted them in and almost all refused to condemn hamas, they don't get the sympathy they want.
