Bryan Hayes, Jeff O’Neill and Jamie McLennan are joined by ESPN Hockey analyst and host of the Ray and Dregs podcast Ray Ferraro to discuss why Brad Marchand is so effective and his role in the series against the Maple Leafs through 3 games so far.

Marchand wasn't saying anything to the Leaf bench after the empty net goal. Marchand was talking to his own bench: "There's still thirty-five seconds." He was saying that they have to play the full 60 minutes, which is something that the Leafs don't understand.
Marchand understands and applies the intricacies of Hockey at a supreme level. Marchand at 5’9” plays 6’5” in big games. Marchand has forgotten more about Hockey than most of today’s NHL will ever know. As a Bruins fan I am thrilled he is in our dressing room and no where else. Next stop HOF. Deservedly so.

man the refs missed calls boths ways. Do leafs people think the leafs have never lost a game cause they were the worse team? Or is it always the refs/the other teams goalie/your star player was sick?
Its the specific ones missed and called that completely changed the game.
@@Mike-vx3ld3il7w The bruins were 2/3 on the PP. If the refs didn't miss calls against the bruins they would have won by an even bigger margin.

@@ryangagnier1115 Toronto got away with some BS too. Maple Leaf fans blame referees every single time Toronto loses a game. Every single time. It has been going on for decades.

The leafs also had so many calls go their way. Mcavoy taking a stick to the face from Tavares during a PK right in front of a ref somehow wasn't called. Leafs fans are bitching as if the refs decided specifically not to call anything for 1 minute so that Frederic could score.

about 90% of the time... Marchand doesn't even have to do anything... his reputation pulls opponents in to try to coax him and it always backfires..zero effort on marhcand's side to have all agitators focus in on him while frederik, debrusk, geekie skate free - they have no one focus on the lower tier scorers for bruins. Almost like they focus on marchy and probably pasta, but the providence bruins have been doing most of the scoring...

@@black_squallyou have to be joking. Over the course of a season Marchand gets more reputation calls against him than any player I've ever seen. Probably at least one every other game.

Why don’t you call out Tavares, Mathews, marner, nylander(despite not playing)… 0/5 on the power play? 3 shots on the power play? But YES way to go TSN it’s definitely MARCHANDS fault the leafs lost. Despite them being gifted this game on a silver platter and couldn’t convert Marchand said nothing to the bench, he said to the bruins bench - “hey 35 more” as in 35 more seconds to play. Game isn’t over.

Marchand doesn’t fight. Fighting is for juveniles. Marchand is on a higher level of nastiness and competitiveness. Combined those two skills we have a world class Hockey player. Next stop HOF!
