Will We Ever Find Antarctica, The Lost Continent Under The Ice?

Underneath the Antarctic ice sheet lies a geologically complex continent. What would we find if the ice disappeared? And is it increasing or decreasing? What would Antarctica look like without ice? What types of rocks make it up? In short, what truly lies beneath the fifth largest continent by area, the current home of the geographic South Pole, and the coldest place on Earth, with temperatures dropping to -98°C? We delve into these and other lesser-known aspects of Antarctica in this engaging video prepared for you by Insane Curiosity Channel!
Antarctica is the continent of extremes: it's the coldest, windiest, driest, highest, least populated, and least polluted. It differs from other continents due to the absence of liquid water on a continental scale, the extensive cold and arid polar desert that leads to extreme environmental conditions, and the almost total lack of vegetation.

  • As much as i enjoy your naration. I would say, to some of the points you make about climate change, as well as seeing some of the comments. If i have to choose who to believe between a KZheadr and the scientists, I think I'm going to go with the latter. This would have been a much better video without trying to divide people on an issue that is happening and is statistically there to see, whether you think its man made or not.

    • It is not division - it is opening up the realm that hey, perhaps certain scientists write to a narrative and are in the pockets of "big (x)" to write the narrative. The author of this video is completely right and I support his statements, as someone who has read thousands of papers and wrote a few - the idea of Academic Integrity barely holds at an MA level, let alone PhD with corporate interests. Are you that naive?

  • I don't have the knowledge to judge the comments in this video about an increase in continental ice in Antarctica. As someone who has relatives on a low lying atoll I hope it's true because melting only of the ice shelf around the coast would not affect sea levels. But glaciers around the world on the American and Asian continents are observably shrinking and anyone who can afford to visit Greenland can see the melting of an icecap smaller than the Antarctic one but otherwise similar. The tentative attempts at building a farming industry in southern Greenland are assisted by an increase of weeks in the summer growing season.

  • Here's a video pitch: new countries of Antarctica. With inescapable climbing global temperatures many Countries and islands are facing the complete and total loss of their lands, the entire population will need to either relocate into surrounding nations or find new lands. Estimated temperatures of a thawed Antarctica would make the climate nearly 40° in winter and upper 60° in summer. This will alleviate future immigration and territory disputes. And ensure an embassy of every nation is parcel and positioned equally Antarctica will be vacant prime property for these nations to take ahold of, granted critical species regulations are in place.

  • You can tell over the years what the beliefs are of the companies who have sponsored this channel during certain times and/or what those companies need said in order to look better. For example: If those companies are ran by people who don't believe in climate change or could be financially affected by anything even suggesting it's possibility, Insane Curiosity tries to back those types of views up. If the companies DO believe in climate change and need the channel to back it up or make the company's adversary look bad, Insane Curiosity makes statements and such to back those beliefs up instead. They literally sell out for whoever's sponsoring the channel. Go back and watch old content -- back when it was better and they believed in quality over quantity -- and you'll see their "facts" only fit one side of an argument and eventually change to the complete opposite over time, repeatedly back and forth as if they think no one will ever notice. Unfortunately, for the most part, the changes are so spread out that most people either don't realize it at the time or just forget entirely. Give it a while and they'll be on the opposite side of this argument -- again. They literally do it with every possible subject or issue they create content over.
