    • Usually in a column the rebar takes the load, the concrete just keeps it from bending. It is cheaper to use rebar surrounded by concrete than pure steel. Nearly anything they are doing to the 2 inches of the concrete surrounding the steel should not have significant impact on the strength of the beam. Well unless it is exterior, unpainted, and leads to rusted rebar.

    • ​@James Miller silica fly ash acts as a glue when the concrete cracks and water gets in the silica will reglue itself back together. Hence why the concrete lasts so long. We can do this today, contrary to popular belief.

    • No es tan así, depende de varios factores, debería ser un agujero de mayores dimensiones para poder tener un impacto considerable en la estructura, perforaciones para pasar un hierro así no es nada, los debilitamientos causados son despreciables en un cálculo estructural

  • Having worked in construction industry…I am shocked how he was able to drill so easily in concrete pillars, and how is he able to bend steel rebar so easily. I wont trust structural integrity of that building!

    • Вы не видите, что это декор под угловую арку, ей нечего не будет и держаться будет крепко, мастерить и что-то строить и не бояться это делать, нужно ещё суметь это сделать.

    • @@Makenzi001 хорошо, а что будет если по углам в распор под углом поставить несколько кирпичей, самой конструкции ничего не будет как само распределение груза в проёме, будет равномерным.
