Welcome to our 270-square-foot tiny home in Alaska! We don't plan on staying this tiny forever, but it's a great way to start and there are many benefits to living in a small house.

  • I am 58 and it is refreshing to see a nice young couple on KZhead who come across genuine and are just sharing their life and Information without yelling at the camera and making everything loud and sensational like many KZheadrs do. You guys are off to a great start to your family life and keep everything in perspective. Your little house shows a lot of resourcefulness and economy, which is a wonderful way to live. Keep that and along with love you will go far.

  • Just an idea for the babies cribs... you can build crib bunk beds on the wall (kind of like mini Murphy beds lol) where you have the crib currently and have them be able to fold against the wall to access the closet and put those zipper enclosures around the beds to keep them in safely but still easy to put away and don't take up much space... hope that helps! 😊

    • @@tinyhousealaskalife Another idea that my parents did with me til I was 3¹/², I never had an actual crib, they put me in a Pack-n-Play. They are so versatile and fold away into a bag you can store away easily or travel with... My parents used it to put me to bed, to play safely nearby keeping me out of getting into things while my mom cooked and I had some toys in it with me or a movie on the TV, I used it out in the yard, and at friends and families houses for naps, play, and overnights... so easy to throw it in the car on the go! My mom swears by those and says she wouldn't have survived my early childhood without it! 😅

The few times she did have audible coos were super cute, but mom was so focused on giving the tour of their home, she wasn't paying attention to her breathing pattern. Love the home and the creativity that went into it, but the PNP in me took over, lol.(sorry)

  • You did the best you could with your space. Your space is realistic, not staged, I appreciate that. The ceiling is really beautiful, it gives a sense of space. With twins a washer and dryer would be very nice to have. I would choose them red to put beside the fridge. The storage for the spices could go underneath the shelves on the wall. But there would be very little space for the rocker. I was expecting stairs beside the bathroom for a loft and you have a closet instead. Hope you can get a bigger space soon. For $20 000 you did great.

  • 260 sq ft here with 1 child! Seasonal swaps are so important to me, I store my off-season stuff in a tote or 2 in the back of my SUV. It gives me an opportunity to go through everything seasonally and do away with stuff I dont use/need/doesnt fit, and helps things feel new to me again, curbing my shopping want for clothes. Also, order one of those miniature washers! They only do small stuff and its basically a tiny waterproof turbine ( amazon: portable clothes washer)... I use mine on socks, wash rags, and it would work for baby clothes! Mine takes USB ports and runs on less than 300W... great for camping! Might be handy in a tight situation for you. I think I paid 20 bucks and I just stick it in a bucket and let it do the work when I dont want to hand wash.

  • Hello from Palmer, AK! Love your home, raised my first baby in a little under 300 square feet for almost 2 years. I actually enjoyed the challenge of trying to make a small space work and maximize it to the fullest extent. We are now currently in a space that’s a bit bigger, but went from no bathroom or kitchen to putting a toilet and sink in. Now waiting for spring to work on new projects. Anyways, loved seeing a realistic tiny home rather than one that you know is not the full picture. Thank you, loved seeing an Alaskan tiny home! We now have 3 kids, so definitely doable to have kids in a small space and children just love being with you all the time, even as they get older! Also, totally the person using a toaster oven and plug in stove, but if you get one big enough and buy a quality induction stove, you can cook/bake anything you really want. I cook/bake everyday probably more than most and have not had an issue yet. I also don’t have a sink in my kitchen, so have to walk all the way to the back of the house to get to our utility sink so that’s one of our spring projects to put the kitchen where the sink is. Very refreshing to see another family having to use and work with the space they have. :)

  • I love your place and that but, as the babies get bigger they're gonna need room to roam around especially when they start crawling. So if I heard you earlier, you're gonna be adding on. So that will be nice. It's nice to see that you're living your dream.I'm sure everything's gonna work out and I wish you the best.God bless all of you!!

  • I really like how you two have ur bed - I think for all the bigger your place is, you are managing very well. I agree once the twins are walking and growing you will need more space - just adding a bedroom for the children will probably increase your time of living in such a tidy home twofold or more. You've planned well for your space. I enjoyed your video.,,,,,,,
