Welcome to our 270-square-foot tiny home in Alaska! We don't plan on staying this tiny forever, but it's a great way to start and there are many benefits to living in a small house.
I am 58 and it is refreshing to see a nice young couple on KZhead who come across genuine and are just sharing their life and Information without yelling at the camera and making everything loud and sensational like many KZheadrs do. You guys are off to a great start to your family life and keep everything in perspective. Your little house shows a lot of resourcefulness and economy, which is a wonderful way to live. Keep that and along with love you will go far.
I am 58 as well by chance and had the very same thoughts.
Thank you both for your nice comments and for watching!
Yes, I totally agree 👍
I am a twin. I had a brother. We slept in the same bed. For 5 years. It can be done. My parents were in the same situation as you. And we was close . He's been gone for 10 years now. He had a bad heart. God-bless you and your family. And keep safe
I am so sorry to hear of your brothers passing. That twin bond is so strong I am sure that has been hard.
I’m sorry for your loss.
Prayers and sorry for your loss
My condolences 💐.
I'm so sorry for your loss
Just an idea for the babies cribs... you can build crib bunk beds on the wall (kind of like mini Murphy beds lol) where you have the crib currently and have them be able to fold against the wall to access the closet and put those zipper enclosures around the beds to keep them in safely but still easy to put away and don't take up much space... hope that helps! 😊
Oooh yes that is an interesting idea to play around with. Thank you!
Came here to say the same! Great minds...😁
@@tinyhousealaskalife Another idea that my parents did with me til I was 3¹/², I never had an actual crib, they put me in a Pack-n-Play. They are so versatile and fold away into a bag you can store away easily or travel with... My parents used it to put me to bed, to play safely nearby keeping me out of getting into things while my mom cooked and I had some toys in it with me or a movie on the TV, I used it out in the yard, and at friends and families houses for naps, play, and overnights... so easy to throw it in the car on the go! My mom swears by those and says she wouldn't have survived my early childhood without it! 😅
Exactly my thought too!
@@sashabenoit1518 mom of 5 here. First 2 kids we had everything and I mean everything. Looking back it was ridiculous lol. Pared down with each one and used a pack and play with the 5th. Loved it!
You guys do all right for having twins in a tiny house! It’s very cozy and functional! Btw the twins are adorable😊
Aww thanks!
I love your blue sink
@@tinyhousealaskalife You twins are adorable. Big and Healthy Babies. What is in the Colorado water?🥰🥰😊😊
She is pregnant again I think, no ?
It is more practical to see real life living in a tiny home. Thank you for sharing.
Love your dynamic together. Relationship goals
Awww thank you!
I’m amazed you have so much in a tiny space and have used it so efficiently! You look like you are enjoying your lifestyle. Love your home and family.❤
We love it! Thanks for watching!
Now that is a tiny home that actually looks lived in, you both did an awesome job, I love it, and I love how you are making it work, especially with two babies. By the way, the babies are soo precious. I just noticed the date this was posted, I guess the babies are walking and into everything, bless their hearts. God Bless you all looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 🙂
God bless you for being so calm and sane with young twins 😂😂😂
What is this sanity you speak of 😂 Seriously yes at times it can be stressful but overall they are just such a joy!
To each his own, but I would go crazy in there!
I probably wasn't listening well.. I kept looking at your beautiful baby twins !! And to get a boy and a girl!! You are all so blessed❤❤
They are distracting in the best way😁🥰
@@tinyhousealaskalife yes they are❣️
I applaud you both for building your own house/home…a roof over your head. What’s functional for you may not be good for others. Your children are still young, there’s time to improvise, you’ll learn to modify… safety is a must “first” to consider.💖
This is so true!
😊😊
I am impressed on how well you fit so much in such a tiny space and your babies are sooo cute!
Thank you! 😊
I would build a covered front porch in the spring . Which can give you so much more usable / storage play area . Or dining area . Or used for a quieter office space . Or zones .
We were going to do that last summer and decided we were just going to save up and add on! A porch is definitely in future plans though!
Love how the baby is talking also with mom Love ur place 💗 💕
They like to be involved 😁
Pediatric NP here, poor little honey is grunting at times. Mama has a good grip (awesome!), but tummy is being pressed in, and up, affecting diaphragm and lungs. The few times she did have audible coos were super cute, but mom was so focused on giving the tour of their home, she wasn't paying attention to her breathing pattern. Love the home and the creativity that went into it, but the PNP in me took over, lol.(sorry)
Lovely home and sweet family. Great job!
Thank you so much!
You have a lovely home and are so sweet. The babies are the best!
They really are!
You have a lovely home and the babies are beautiful.
You could put a large or small cutting board on top of the drying rack or sink for more counter space.
We will sometimes do that if we need more counter space. It makes it such a useable space!
When those babies start crawling you are in trouble.
pleasant couple.. Thanks for the tour!
Glad you enjoyed it!
How they live like that is beyond my sanity level. I wish them the best of luck.
WOW THAT MUST BE HARD WITH TWO BABIES. The babies are so cute.
I love y'all set up. I think this is going to be the new normal because of the high prices.love your murphy bed and they cutie pie being close. God Bless your little family
I seen Alaska that’s why I watched Born in Anchorage father was military Left at 9 months always wanted to see Alaska Subscribed to your channel
Welcome and thanks for watching!
I want what you have, maybe not in Alaska😊 Been shopping for vintage microwave, couldn't decide which one to buy until I saw yours. You have a lovely family and you're young and smart and happy. This is the way to begin young adult life.
Hope you can find something you like in a microwave!
A dishwasher is ALWAYS worth the space and there are many size options. Do add it to your priority list in your extension plans. With two little ones there are very many more tasks worthy of your time than washing dishes so well worth outsourcing that one to technology.
It is definitely top of my list!
Adorable babies !! Tiny houses are great for 2 adults. There isn't much space for crawling, learning toys/activity centers. The hanging cords, sharp corners 😮... so much to baby proof yet.
Yep baby proofing is February’s main activity!
It’s nice to see a tiny house lived in. It looks cute but liveable and I can see myself in one. 😊
It is crazy how well even such a small space can work!
So smart. Great way to be stress free without some killer mortgage.
@@KimFsharpHarp Yes, that's exactly what I'm after. 😊
I am so happy to have found your channel. Your house is so cozy! there is so much love in that house. You have a beautiful family! I love Alaska and am excited to find a new channel based out of Alaska.
That is so sweet! We are glad to have you following along!
I enjoyed the tour! We live in Ohio and about 8 years ago my husbands boss and his wife were in Homer. They are huge animal lovers and stopped at the shelter there “just to look”. They fell in love with and ginger kitty and flew him home to Ohio. They named him Homer of course!! 😁
What a fun story! Thanks for sharing that made us smile!
For such little footage you have a very functional & Great home, congratulations on your 2 beautiful babies. Have a wonderful life.
Thank you so much!!
You did the best you could with your space. Your space is realistic, not staged, I appreciate that. The ceiling is really beautiful, it gives a sense of space. With twins a washer and dryer would be very nice to have. I would choose them red to put beside the fridge. The storage for the spices could go underneath the shelves on the wall. But there would be very little space for the rocker. I was expecting stairs beside the bathroom for a loft and you have a closet instead. Hope you can get a bigger space soon. For $20 000 you did great.
Thank you for watching!
You two are doing great. Love your house. And your twins are so cute.
Aren’t they adorable! Thanks for watching!
I absolutely love your tiny house!! Your babies are beautiful!! Thanks so much for your tour of your tiny home, it's beautiful!!😊
260 sq ft here with 1 child! Seasonal swaps are so important to me, I store my off-season stuff in a tote or 2 in the back of my SUV. It gives me an opportunity to go through everything seasonally and do away with stuff I dont use/need/doesnt fit, and helps things feel new to me again, curbing my shopping want for clothes. Also, order one of those miniature washers! They only do small stuff and its basically a tiny waterproof turbine ( amazon: portable clothes washer)... I use mine on socks, wash rags, and it would work for baby clothes! Mine takes USB ports and runs on less than 300W... great for camping! Might be handy in a tight situation for you. I think I paid 20 bucks and I just stick it in a bucket and let it do the work when I dont want to hand wash.
We use the back of our vehicles for extra storage too!
Great job for such a young couple. Nice to see.
You are so kind thank you!
Get another crib, and when they're older, make a pull out double day bed, where the parents sleep at the front of the house and make two day beds for the twins when they get older, where they currently sleep
You two are amazing! If, only you could teach other couples!
One of the goals of this channel is to show other people that you don’t have to have all these “things” that society says you need to be happy! So I hope through this channel we can share that with others!
@@tinyhousealaskalife so true and how many couples that accumulate so many things and yet very miserable it’s the people that makes a home. Lovely home and you don’t have to keep up with the jones I believe it’s a heart issue.💜
Hello, you have an adorable family. No worries, the twins are at a stage they don't mind the small space. Have you tried searching online for a mini bunk beds? You could probably even buy guard rails to up so they don't crawl out. Cute twins too! Love and Blessings from Virginia.
Mini bunk bed/cribs is definitely something we have thought about! We need to do some more research though.
@@tinyhousealaskalife Okay sounds wonderful. Wishing you all of the best. I know it may be a bit overwhelming but it'll get better if you give it time. Blessings.
our church nursey has those kind of stack crib 3 high I am sure your hubby could build them.
@@patriciacorpe6228 Oh wow, I didn't even know they existed. Just a thought that came to mind. But yes, her husband can easily build those stackable crib.
Beautiful home. A real sense of family comes through. Hats off to you all!
I really enjoyed how thrifty the mom is. Love the house. Keep living your best life.
Thank You!!
Hello from Palmer, AK! Love your home, raised my first baby in a little under 300 square feet for almost 2 years. I actually enjoyed the challenge of trying to make a small space work and maximize it to the fullest extent. We are now currently in a space that’s a bit bigger, but went from no bathroom or kitchen to putting a toilet and sink in. Now waiting for spring to work on new projects. Anyways, loved seeing a realistic tiny home rather than one that you know is not the full picture. Thank you, loved seeing an Alaskan tiny home! We now have 3 kids, so definitely doable to have kids in a small space and children just love being with you all the time, even as they get older! Also, totally the person using a toaster oven and plug in stove, but if you get one big enough and buy a quality induction stove, you can cook/bake anything you really want. I cook/bake everyday probably more than most and have not had an issue yet. I also don’t have a sink in my kitchen, so have to walk all the way to the back of the house to get to our utility sink so that’s one of our spring projects to put the kitchen where the sink is. Very refreshing to see another family having to use and work with the space they have. :)
That will be so exciting when you get a real sink in your kitchen space! I know the feeling as we lived without running water for a little bit! Glad to have a fellow Alaskan watching along!
When your babies start walking you'll find even if you put them in separate beds you'll find them sleeping together. My boys even though not twins I would always find them sleeping in the same bed in the morning. Awesome set up.
Some sibling just need to be together. It’s so sweet!
You guys are making it work.
Thank You for watching!
Your home is beautiful! Great job. Very clean and organized
Love your tiny house, I live in my RV and it’s 19 foot by 6 very small but I love it I have everything I need you guys are awesome simple Mind simple life 💕👍🙏
How fun! We love the idea of living in an RV
You have a mansion in comparison to a tent! Way to go.
The babes are so sweet 🥰
That's what I would do, build what you need to be living in and add on as and when you need it. I think having the sheds outside to house the freezer and washer/dryer is a good idea too. I really like this.
Thank You So Much!
The house looks bigger inside even with all the much needed things placed around inside. However, it drives me bananas with those tight bands around babies' heads. Imagine, having an elastic band around your head all day. They may be cute, but you end up with a fussy baby. Not criticizing, but just check the band for tightness. God bless you all!
It’s not one of tight ones but thanks for the concern 😊 Thanks for watching.
@@tinyhousealaskalife I still love how you are sharing real life with us. Now tell us about your clothes, what you like the most.
You guys did a great job it is beautiful

Hi I'm a new subscriber . Thank you for sharing your story , your house looks nice and cosy and warm . You are both really clever and such a lovely family . ❤
Awesome job building it and beautiful family!
Awesome job guys!! Thanks for sharing. Have you seen Jason and Julie Kreke KZhead channel? They have 9 kids (I think) in a very small home. Maybe it would give you some ideas. Love how you’ve used the space!
We actually have watched some of their videos!! They are very good at using their space well!
I commented the same thing, scrolled down, and then deleted my suggestion. Lol.
Beautiful home!
Lovely family ❤
They don’t have a lot now but as they get bigger they need some more space especially boy/girl twins
Yep the tiny house is definitely not a forever thing!
Great job you use your space wisely looks great
Thank You!
Interesting. Wait til the babies are crawling and then walking . Good luck.
Twins are so cool!
What a beautiful lovely home and family!!! Much love to you from Montana!
The babies definitely make life more fun!
First of all.....beautiful family. Gal you do not look like you had twins 5 months ago! I love your tiny home. I have a tiny home too, roughly the same size as yours. I have way more room because it's only retired me and a bratty cat lol Absolutely think the murphy bed is fabulous. My favorite thing is the mobile! Keep well wee family
Tiny homes are so fun aren’t they! Thanks for watching!
You’ve managed to fit a lot into this space which is great. I also like the choice of the different wall colours. Thanks for the tour.

Thank you so much!
I like the idea of your living room being in the back of the house. It seems cozier especially in the winter when the front door would open.
Your right It does make it much cozier back there with the heater!!
Beautiful home and beautiful family.
Great tour busy family...enjoy they grow fast
They are already SO big!
You guys are rocking it. Your baby's are adorable 🙂

Thank you so much for watching!
I just come across your channel today and will tell everybody I know to watch and subscribe. I love your house, life and those 2 precious babies. ❤
Awww thank you so much!
I love your place and that but, as the babies get bigger they're gonna need room to roam around especially when they start crawling. So if I heard you earlier, you're gonna be adding on. So that will be nice. It's nice to see that you're living your dream.I'm sure everything's gonna work out and I wish you the best.God bless all of you!!
Wow! It's beautiful, you did amazing job,& you'll be adding on! Love it!
Good luck with everything!
Thanks for sharing this tour. The way that the four of you are pulling this off is inspiring. Best wishes to you from the lower 48; I hope I can make it visit it Alaska someday
It is a great place to vacation in the summer!
This is wonderful, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Congratulations on the birth of your adorable children!
Thank You!
You guys have a cozy neat home with indoor plumbing. I enjoyed the tour and your young family.
I really like how you two have ur bed - I think for all the bigger your place is, you are managing very well. I agree once the twins are walking and growing you will need more space - just adding a bedroom for the children will probably increase your time of living in such a tidy home twofold or more. You've planned well for your space. I enjoyed your video.,,,,,,,
