Garrett (not surprisingly) plays exceptionally better with even worse clubs than me 😂😂😂 somehow… this gives me hope. I love the part where Garret says that when you play a round like this, you take the little wins. Literally verbatim what I tell my buddies when playing with them. Thankfully, they’re extremely supportive and are fine with what “they are getting into” when playing me. Definitely a lot of, “go ahead and play through.” Happenings when I’m involved. Sincerely love all the content from you guys. It’s an amazing inspiration, and really fun to watch. I can’t wait to get to the point where I’m seriously counting strokes rather than just focusing on technique and just being able to strike the ball consistently. • The Tour Model II irons were my first set of golf clubs back in 1990. They were Ping Eye 2 clones. Had a full set including the 1-iron. They were actually pretty good irons for the time. Irons today are stronger lofted than 30-40 years ago. Today's 7-iron has the same loft as a 5- or 6-iron from back then, but has better weighting to launch the ball higher. Golf balls spun much more back then - but they had to in order to get the ball up in the air with the smaller heads on woods. You guys should try to get your hands on some balata balls or Titleist Tour Professional balls from the 1990's (before the Pro V1 came out around 2000). They spun like crazy. Great video!

  • Love all the vids guys. Congrats on all the success. Loved this video but my thoughts on how to make it more competitive is that Garrett should have played up a couple tee boxes while Grant played back at the normal tee's. That way the match could have been more competitive due to the fact Garrett's woods just can't go that far, even with how far he hits the ball. That drive into the bunker on the par 5 where it was hot with no wind(don't know what number)is a perfect example. He hit that so well and it just didn't have enough on it. Loving the content either way. Keep it up.

  • That was so enjoyable I watched every moment. I own the same set of Irons and clubs I bought as a 20 yr old because at that time they weren't cheap A mid Seventies " Jack Nicklaus "Golden Bears" and often I get super compliments on how beautiful my clubs look as if they came out of the factory as I wipe them with wood oil after using them. HOWEVER ,I'm 70 now and I can't get my ball to soar with my iron so now in March I'm going to replace them one by one at $200 each, starting with 3-7-9.. I replaced my wedge and putter several times already and am a great putter.

  • Good match. Like the idea of old versus new. Lots of people will get new clubs this year!!

  • Nice to see younger guys making golf content without having to just completely disrespect a golf course and the people around them in order to get views, yet still be entertaining, I like it

  • Loved this video. I would like to see the same thing but use a cheap set from Costco or something so its a modern almost full set just very inexpensive. Great content as always! And I liked how you both spoke to the camera a bit more on this one.

  • Love the content. Keep it up. Given the constant bombardment that golfers need custom fit, newest products, I would love to see a practical comparison of the difference between the 3K custom fit set) vs an off the shelf 8-15 year old set of equivalent clubs.

  • I've only watched half of this, and I'm only 1 person. I think I like these more because I feel like you guys aren't faking the reactions and they are real. When you are in a big group I don't like it as much because you guys are so good alone not only as golfers but as a duo personality wise. NOthing against the other guys I'm just trying to give my real feedback. Just started watching a few weeks ago and loving the stuff. Wish you fellas the best.

  • Grant was killin it and smashin that hybrid 👌 and I think if Garrett had at least a full set of clubs, and or sand wedge and a putter the game would have gone down a little differently, not having a full set of clubs and especially no putter would have mentally messed my whole game up too lol 😂

  • Love this one! You should try this same challenge, but with a full set of thrift store clubs. Don't worry about price, just get all 14 clubs so you don't have any gaps in the bag.

  • played many wooden drivers when i was young. it's what we had. if you take a good wood driver and hit a balata ball with it,you will never beat the feeling of that impact. it won't go anywhere, but it looks beautiful. the ball will start out low and then rise. very nice feeling. and some of those clubs were beautiful. i won a cherry head one in a tourney, and it was so beautiful i wouldnt hit it for a long time
