    • @@mayanlogos92 it's called contrabass in English too, or just bass. It's also called double bass or upright bass, but usually only if it's played without a bow, like in a jazz band. Never heard it called a bass cello.

Commonly heard in contemporary Bangla folk music and some strains of neo-psychedelia, when played where it's needed to be, the Esraj is one of the most beautiful sounds you can get out of a stringed instrument. • Hey man I just wanted to say thank you for just making videos dude. When it was Christmas 2022, I got an Amazon bass for Christmas. I really did not know how to play and I did not know frets on an instrument existed and then I started looking as your KZhead channel, I started looking at more of ur videos and I started learning. I then joined a church band and so forth. In 2023 I joined jazz band and I became a jazz bassist. I then started playing upright bass and now I am always having concerts in other churches and places. Thank you Davie for being my inspiration and happy holidays and happy new year.

That just seems like a very natural fit to me. If you told me that Claypool invented it and named it the whamola I might also be inclined to believe you. (Edit: Apparently Claypool didn't invent it but he is the only person mentioned by name in the brief Wikipedia article)
