The Battlefield franchise has some of the most satisfying sniping in all of First Person Shooter history. A skilled player with a sniper rifle can be a menace on the battlefield, dealing a one shot kill from any range, even sometimes powerful enough to take down a vehicle with a single bullet.
But landing these shots requires a combination of skills that makes sniping a difficult task to master. In this video, I’ll be sharing everything I know about sniping in Battlefield to help you improve your skills. We’re going to mostly focus on Battlefield 4 since it’s the most difficult game to snipe in out of the last few but I’ll also mention some specific mechanics to help you out if you want to master sniping in Battlefield 1 or Battlefield V as well. I'm curious to hear your thoughts, do you like sniping best in BF4, BF1 or BFV?

Which guide should I make next? A guide for the Assault class? Watch this video next: Incredibly Satisfying Battlefield Sniping Gameplay kzhead.info/sun/gJeRoNaReHaMbJE/bejne.html
A start guide for noobs and which gun is good and bad
Hey can you start a discord?
Do assault lol
Dude, as a former Battlefield veteran, your video are extremely detailed. I can confirm myself, everything you just said its the same thing I've said to other people who plays as a sniper against me. But I would like to add something about gameplay, supression fire and fighting a bunch of snipers might as well get you killed sometimes because a enemy sniper are a much of threat when there is some crazy support using DMR against you, he won't hit a damn thing but he will just make the 1v1 sniper way more harder with supression, so I suggest to choose wisely who you are gonna hit first.
@@mazera3 I can resume. AEK and also Famas are the meta guns for close range modes, but if you want a consistent weapon then you will have to pick a favorite, because Battlefield 4 does a good job when balancing the Assault Rifles on conquest. LMGs for example I recommend the ones with high damage, but all of them are good too.
As a new(er) player to both BF1 + 4, I really appreciate videos like this: super informative and engaging. Awesome vid man. All the Beast
Thanks!!
The best tip you can get is to never stand still unless youre aiming down sight and planing to shot. It takes me about half a second to spot you then and another 0,2 seconds for the bullet to reach you 200m away.
Been sniping for years and still tryna get this down on bf4. Appreciate the video💪🏾💯
This guide has been fantastic. I'd love to see the mastering aim guide!
I have never play bf in my life but the video guide are exciting to watch.
As a rep from the bf community, it is as fun as it looks 😂. (But if you do get it, don’t get bf5)

Bruh, Battlefield 4 is $5 on the main website right now for PC.
Brilliant and extensive guide, very helpful, thank you! I love bf1 and recently started bf 4 ( a little too late I know) but I love it. I am horrible with sniping, but with practise, I might get better. This guide will definitely help. Great tips man.
Glad it helped!
Thats prolly cause bf 1 Had horrible gun Play, one does Not simply one up the BF3 Format indeed
This is what battlefield is all about. Love the analysis great video!
Great video! Even as a veteran Battlefield gamer, there are some tips you pointed out that I didn't know. Awesome!
Bruh, this dude puts up a very good stuff. Definitely looking forward for more videos
Thanks!
One of the most helpful guides i've seen, I really needed this, thank you
Glad it helped!
Hi Patty. I was in the CJS call with Darrel earlier today! It's so wonderful to see a gamer that as done the program. I subbed to both your channel and I will follow you. It was so nice to hear you talk about your experience. It really gave me confidence. So thank you!
Hey that's awesome! Derral has an amazing program :) Excited to talk to you more
Absolutely awesome video, its a one stop shop for sniping for sure. Wish more content creators made videos like this. Youre showing up some youtubers with 100+ times your sub count. Bravo.
Thanks! I plan to make a TON of content like this when 2042 comes out :)
I usually dont watch or like these kind of videos, but this is a well made and researched guide, I will put this new knowledge into practice.
Very high quality video! Easiest subscription ever. Hope your content gets more views.
Really good video! This was really informative, keep up the great work!
I love this! I always said sniping in BF5 and BF1 is a joke compared to 4 and no one believed me. My tip, leave the gun always zeroed on 100m. It's easier to remember how high to aim on what distance, than to switch between zeroing distances and having to remember each bullet drop for each distance
Real ones can tell almost immediately lol
Bf1 sniping seems really easy compared to bf4 idk why
My little “hack” I’ve used for quite some time now is setting zeroing to 200m for close to mid range engagements for what seems to be a better chance of hitting upper mass on those bad shots that’d otherwise return awful dmg
Nah. Adjusting the zero makes sniping way easier. You just have to do the math. This is also the reason why BF4 sniping is easier than BF3. You didn't had any sniping tools there like zero adjust, range finder, PLD and etc.
@@Joao-ur7eyRange finder is for the weak though, much rather have straight pull

Thanks! Any new BF content you’d like to see me create? I’m open to ideas
@@PattycakesGG I'm am old fart (66 years), so I spend a lot of time running Support, hiding behind hills and Mortaring & Ucavving. (Yes, I am THAT guy. Hahaha) I tick off a lot of enemies trying to get past the C snow mountain on Lockers!!! However, for the rest of everything else, I am mediocre at best... Any thoughts you have to present on the other classes (starting with Support naturally), would be deeply appreciated!!! Keep up the Great Work! I wish I would have found your channel about 3300 hours ago when I first started BF4!!!!
If i am ever gonna play battlefield this video will help me a lot. By the way thx for a good video.
really needed this thanks
Damn you make some GOOD ASS content man, definitely looking forward to your BF6 videos.
thank you! :)
@@PattycakesGG Might I suggest a video idea on raw stats? Such as how fast does stuff restock from ammo boxes such as grenades, rockets, c4 etc. Which heals faster, box or pack? How fast does each vehicle repair including mid flight? Feel free to not do them if they don't interest you but I thought i'd chuck em out there
Are you still looking forward to bf6 content? Lol horrible game dude.

@@PattycakesGG I think it would be awesome to see a guide for either the assault or the engineer class! Can't wait, and again, awesome job!!
great video , it helped ... go on for more sort of video
I'd consider myself halfway-decent at sniping, but it's worth it to brush up and watch a guide. I find that some of the tips here would also be applicable to those looking to play with the Phantom bow, though that weapon is higher risk-higher reward than snipers. Pairs well with a .44 (mag or deagle, pocket dmrs) or any normal sidearm as a finisher for targets who run defensive.
This video was great and really useful Video idea you should do a in-depth review of battlefield 1942 (and it’s expansion packs)

Nice video man, youve got a suscriber
This is a great video thank you
Holy this is really helpful
really cool video man 👍
Glad you liked it
This has to be the best sniper guide for battlefield in youtube (and trust me I have seen quite a few)
Thank you!
Great video 😃🙂
Love the new logo :) What about an orange or yellow shade for the background? The vivid turquoise is not quite there yet in my opinion. Love the video as always
I can try it, I was trying to match the 2042 colors
All that time I didn’t know I could adjust PLD zoom by pressing T button, lol. Thank you for that knowledge.
Just subscribed, I loved your content❤

Very informative... Please do an objective recon specific vid
Extremely underrated channel
best video for snipers i found
I got hyped on battlefield watching your videos and bought BF4 and BF-One. The very first game I got facerolled by a cheater with 153 kd. Sad sad times. Would've been a great experience =(
I'm not sure how exactly the bullet drop mechanic works in relation to medium vs long range scopes, but something to note: When I run the .338 Recon, I usually use a medium range scope with SPB; I get this isn't the best BA sniper in the game, but I like the feel, and it's accuracy (bar) is maxed. With that said, I've noticed that the bullet drop (mechanically) appears to be a lot less than when I switch it to a long scope. (I run recon a lot because, well, getting that 600-1000+ meter headshot is neat) This has been a relatively consistent metric across the board with sniper rifles in BF4 from what I've noticed, with individual variances based on meta-gun stats for each gun. Granted, knowing the bullet drop for a given distance is useful, but I've actually had to compensate a lot less for bullet drop between medium and long ranges, with the only major compensation being at the extreme long ranges. Edit: having that medium range scope used for long ranges eliminates that glint while still being able to plink people.
I recently started using the shotty sidearm and it kicks ass. Only 3 rounds but is very fun.
I’m a year late but one thing I like to do with c4 on the more open maps is throw some down on the ground and go prone in the crater made by it helpful with other classes and using impacts or underbarrel gl
hardline was one of my fav bf games sad to see not many ppl play it
Changing the coefficient to 0% will match tracking speeds for all zoom levels. Much easier to build muscle memory using this setting imo.
Your content is better than most - million subs youtubers, so fun to watch
thanks! :)
22:22 i played bf4 for 300+ hours and didn`t know about PLD zoom. Thank you
Thanks levelCap 😉
Battlefield 2042 made me so hyped now I am hungry for battlefield contents. But I will not play battlefield games till 2042 releases. I got studies. Within October I will be done with studies. Then it will be fun. Hope everything happens according to my plan in sha Allah.

You forgot to mention that the sway in BF4 is not apply to close and mid range scopes which makes them even more interesting in mid and CQC maps like Railway, Dawbreaker and Locker
Alr knew everything, prolly cuz i have 300 between bfv bf1 and bf4. love his destiny vids too
Great video. Does putting a laser sight on a sniper improve its accuracy in BF4 in hip fire mode? I just picked B4 and I was curious.
I think it might but I haven’t specifically tested it in a while
Oh takes me back to when I took down a heli on shanghai, I think with a sinper. While jumping from a four-wheeler LMAO off the dam building.
Remember kids, using semi auto snipers in bf5 means your a twitch streamer or your a discord mod
@Thawne because everyone gets offended by it. Because logic
DMR,s are gay yes
All I want to know... Am I a,hot twitch streamer that gets 5k a,month... Because cleveage? I don't know if dick cleveage attracts good money...

I would definitely suggest that peeps get used to 1 sight in Bf4. Changing it up will hinder potential progress.

Thanks for the awesome guide, this is just too well worked out to not be a big vid
CSLR 4 with 4 or 6X works best for me. If you’re using 6, grab the 14X attachment. 4 guarantees no optic glint. Straight pull No barrel attachment Pld and radio beacon (to spot, and when you get a good spot set up beacon to respawn there or get some of your squad to suppress enemies so you can get your shots still.) Use sniper field upgrade G18 for rapid shots or switch to single for accuracy. And flares to fuck with FLIR or NVG Take your time, find a good hiding spot, and use pld or spam the RB or spot button to find enemies when ads If I had the GOL Magnum, it’d definitely be the GOL with almost the exact same setup.
Nah, JNG-90, 7x-14x, straight pull. G18 or 44. magnum for those noscope headshots. c4, and beacon. smoke greanades. Play agressive.
Great video. What do you use to record and what resolution do you play on?
I record mostly with shadowplay and play at 1080p
My most used primary and secondary on bf4 is SRR-61 and glock 18 so that will tell u i liek to snip a lot
Instead of doing uniform soldier aiming i like to manually change each percentage value per optic in the advanced settings
hiting moving target is a matter of math, a matter of trigonometry I have done some calculation in excel for any sniper rifle in Bf4. For most of the snipers(they have different bullet speed) you need to aim in the second lateral dot of an 8x scope.
But the lead depends on the distance as well and The speed of the solder, some run faster.
@@adebisi1094 no. The distanze matter only for the bullet drope. For the lateral compensation, distance doesn't matter, because mildots represent angles. 10 milliradians (2 mildots) are 10 milliradians at any distance. The speed of the soldier is 6,45m/s and is the same for all. Only a specific perk can make the soldier run faster(7m/s). So if you are using an 8x scope you need to aim, more or less for all sniper rifles in the second dot. I have made an excel which is more precise. In 7 years of BF4 no one as ever talked about the logic behind lateral compensation. People shot with istinct, and most of them can't shot moving target from long distance.
@@Romeo.G But you are wrong, the longer the distance to the player the longer it takes for the bullet to hit the enemy, you need to aim further to hit enemy players moving. Same with tank game play, you need to lead the shot more on long range than in close range. If a solder is moving at 300m, it will take 0.5 second for the bullet to hit the player of the riffle has a speed of 600m/s. Now of the player is in 150m range it will only take 0.25 second i.e you dont have to lead as much.
@@adebisi1094 No. The lateral dots of the sniper represent milliradians, an angle. An angle of 45 ° remains an angle of 45 ° at any distance. When using the 8x scope, you will always have to aim at about the second dot( for some snipers a bit less, for others a bit more) in order to hit perpendicular moving targets. Ofcourse if the target runs diagonally the compensation will be less.
6:08 This is a perfect example of why this is a bad way to figure out bullet drop, The PLD shows you that the distance is 90 m, but really you are on a roof and the distance is vertical distance and you don't need to count for bullet drop. If you are on siege of shanghai on the tall building, shooting people on the ground, they will be 300+ m away from you but you don't need to adjust for any bullet drop, almost no matter where they are.
Pattycake Pattycake Support class man Upload next video as fast as you can.
Hey Patty, hope you're having a nice summer!
Thanks you too!
Nice guide and all, but I get the feeling that in my BF4 game, having the Netcode on my side is many times more important for sniping than any of the things mentioned.. If I don't have Netcode on your side, the game will determine that an opponent's location is somewhere other than where I see him, making sniping almost impossible. 99% of the time when an enemy starts actively dodging because he knows I'm shooting at him, I basically stop shooting because it became impossible to hit him. A very large portion of my deaths basically coincide with the moment the enemy becomes visible to me too; the other player has seen, shot and killed me by the time the game shows me that me and him can see each other. In your footage, though, things do seem to flow a lot better than in mine. I don't suppose you have any tips / guide for optimizing Netcode issues?
Idk why im watching this. I have over 4000hrs in this game 😂😂 very great video tho!

One thing, at around 10:45 you mentioned that FLIR/IRNV can see through smoke, which isn't true and was patched out years ago... Otherwise this video is fantastic!!
Interesting I didn’t realize that was changed, I don’t really use that setup often
@@PattycakesGG you can still see through the smoke it's just not as clear as it used to be

Quick question is bf4 worth it it’s on sale for $5 cause I’ve been a bit bored of cod and I wanted to try out something different ?
Yes, absolutely it is.
i never knew you could zone in your shots to hit on the crosshair, all my kills and headset's have been 100m dropshots, the best advice is prob. to always h ave your M" on 300 or over maybe even 500, you are rarely ever going to sniper someone at 100-200 plus, shooting way over someone they might not even realize they been shot at, when if you undershot, they will counter snipe you off the bat
The Thermal scopes DONT pierce thru smoke from smoke grenades or gadgets. That was patched out years ago.
15:40 *talks about cover while standing behind destructible cardboard boxes*
oh snipers dont have an assault rifle? let me introduce you to the g18c
True lol
So many new people would try sniping more in bf4 if the starting rifle was actually good,if I wanted 14 hitmarkers I’d use an smg😂
What game mode should I play for sniping?
Enemy in every youtuber video : *standing still *get sniped Enemy in this video and my gameplay : 📉📈📉📈📉📈📈📉📉📈📉
Dude, I don't saw this video yet. But it all depends sometimes on how your reflections and muscle memory are good. Unfortanetly, any review can't offer to you where to aim when the enemy is running, because you can't predict players movements. But you can shooting sometimes hoping you are gonna hit it. As a sniper I can confirm to you that only time will improve yourself.
All I have to say is yes
For controller players I find it easier to snipe with aim slow down turned off. You find yourself fighting against the aim assist in certain situations. For example you see two or more enemies grouped closely together and you're trying to target the guy on the right but your aim assist is dragging your reticle to the left or I find when it comes to precise shots sometimes the aim assist slows you down too much and you're fighting trying to get to the exact point you want
Can you make tutorials about tanks and helicopters I feel like I am a decent infantry player but I struggle to find a correct sensitivity etc.
Working on choppers soon!
@@PattycakesGG thx a lot man pls include the basics of flying bc I crash into the ground way too often 😅
I can always tell when there's a new player in Battlefield 4 because they have to use the rangefinder if you played it long enough you end up learning depending on where you're at what the distance of everything is for me it was a bunch of trial and error and I always make a zeroing in shot near the enemy before I shoot at them
I just do what he said and reference the objectives
Did I fall into a parallel universe? I swear to god you're a destiny youtuber...
Haha I mostly cover Destiny but also love playing many FPS games :)
@@PattycakesGG Just realised your destiny channel is called pattycakes gaming, I'm an effing idiot
I hope sniping in 2042 is just like 4 because it's the best imo, no sweet spot and two to the body or one to the head is perfect for gameplay
Yeah I'd like maybe somewhere between 4 and 5 for bullet speeds (esp since the maps are gonna be HUGE!), but no OHK body shots from range unless it's a map pickup like the AMR
And no scope glint pleeeeeeaz Edit: 'no'
I wish there was rangefinders while scoped in
