The Kiwi Design SPC Battery Strap for the Meta Quest 3 takes a leaf from one of their historically comfortable battery straps for the Quest 2, adds the ability to mount onto the Quest 3 side rails, and for the SPC model specifically, adds a way to easily mount the headset onto their own magnetic charging mount for continuous charging of the headset and strap battery when it isn't being used.
The same top strap and rear padding are back again on this strap. Nothing has changed here from what I can tell. As is the battery and charging, with up to 15W of charging output to the Quest 3. So expect some slow charging whilst gaming, but in my tests it DID manage to keep my Quest 3 charged and increase charge during gameplay of Assassin's Creed Nexus and Asgard's Wrath 2 - both quite demanding games on the Quest 3.
Comfort remains the same as the Quest 2 version, with a little forward drop in counterbalance, due to the lighter weight of the battery at the back means the counterbalance is around 60-70% than at 50% (halfway).
Charging the strap with the downward-facing magnetic passthrough charging point on the strap cable is a nice touch - if you have their stand also - making for easy storage of the headset and charging at the same time, no physical plugging in required.
As before, there's little to be disappointed about with this battery strap. Sure it could be more powered (both in storage and charging speed). If I were to nit pick I would have liked a way to keep the cable attached and opt to start and stop charging myself - I just don't trust the headset doing it efficiently - so a button to do this at the back would be perfect.
Its counterbalance could be improved with more weight in the back, but I didn't feel comfort was too affected after a few hours of gaming on the Quest 3.
Its price, built quality, ease of use and features make this my go-to battery strap of choice when looking at Elite style head straps. So if you've just picked up your Quest 3 recently and are on the lookout for an Elite head strap, don't go with Meta, head on over to Kiwi Design and grab one of these.

The Aubika has a bigger battery, its construction is good but I would say below that of the Kiwi strap. The Kiwi has a bigger rear foam padding and maybe a little thicker top padding. The Aubika has the ability to stop and start its charging, the Kiwi does not. Cable management is better on the Kiwi, and overall the Kiwi feels a little chunkier thank the Aubika. So taking all the above you should be able to make a choice between the two, based on what you think is more important out of all the pros and cons from each that I have mentioned above. I’m pretty sure I mention cases in this video. If not the kiwi small case fits fine and isn’t too bulky as long as you’re not packing more than the headset and its controllers.
will a different brand wireless dock also charge the battery pack when you're charging the quest?
Possibly it depends on the connection pins and if they match up as well as magnet polarity
Having a hard time pushing the black strap through. Any suggestions?
If you wiggle it side to side and try to bring it up at and angle so you can grab an edge and then pull the strap through. Hope this helps. You could also try heating the end with a hair dryer to make it more softer too :)
