  • Well in my humble opinion, I have to agree with 'The Grumpy Southerner' to some extent. Then again, I have no experience whatsoever in this type of 'rescue ' work,.but I'll bow to the experts as shown here by ADVideofilm. One thing is certain, it sure is a good video and a pleasure to watch. I really like those softly purring diesels at work.

  • The exact same accident happened by the Swedish town Hässleholm some years ago. I stopped with my motorcycle and walked towards the stranded truck and avsked if he had calling for help. He looked tired and i guess he had falling asleep while driving and ended up in the wood when he replied that another trucker friends was coming in a few hours. I replied with, you need more than a trailer friend to get that out of the wood.

  • Great to see that traffic was allowed to pass while they were at work and only stopped when essential. In the UK that road would have been closed........for two days! The first day would just be the risk assessment. Okay, I'm exaggerating a bit but continental drivers on the whole seem much more sensible and can be trusted to drive past a scene such as this.

  • HEY GUYS, NO NEED FOR ALL THESE ROTATOR DRAMA, As an expert here commented, "IT COMES BACK AS IT WENT IN". CHANGE the damaged FRONT WHEEL (could be the cause of accident) The VOLVO FM recovery is fine to do the job with a set of handy men of trucks and trailers, working on woods for an hour and another hour for pulling her on to the tarmac with minimum damage. This recovery company made their day and drama ... God bless them ... Okay, they too are our pals ...

  • My thoughts as well, why are they not pulling straight back out the way it went in. Had that trailer been move heavily loaded it would have rolled once they started to pull the unit out from under it. Drove off with no light board showing to the rear of the wreck either ? Nice kit though that's for sure.

  • On another incident in this series, there was a convoy vehicle taking through traffic slowly past the scene, why not this time? As the damaged truck was towed away, where were the hazard warnings on the back? An accompanying vehicle perhaps? To warn traffic about the length of the combined vehicle. Are Swedish roads incredibly highly specified, or am I missing something? There were just two spiked 'feet' taking the weight of the boom arm truck as well as the weight of the trailer close to the edge of the carriageway, and yet the road surface showed no sign of damage... that's some serious tarmac!

    @nicktecky55@nicktecky555 жыл бұрын
    • Depends on the amount of traffic. Max length in Sweden is 25.25m, so everyone is pretty much used to long vehicles on the road. 90% of our roads are classed as BK1, which means you can drive a vehicle at a gross weight of up to 64 tons on those roads.

  • To slow traffic down at incident scene's lay partly filled water filled fireman's hoses across the road at each end of site. Sign post the humps (sleeping policemen) The water will be moved side ways along the hoses if crossed slowly The hoses must be longer than the road crossing and capped at each end to prevent water loss. I have used this method to slow traffic entering a works yard, with the hose end connected to a 45 gallon tank half filled with water. A vehicle crossing the hose has to displace this water from the hose to cross. No drilling or cutting is required with the road surface. It worked great but needed anti freeze added for the colder month's.
